Poster 4 - Fastest Finger First 93

A few days ago TomRex told us that he was the first to buy the fourth poster, and in the mail he had received a letter from Alexandra Miller and a Dharma Jumpsuit.

Tom has been kind enough to post some pictures :

The letter tells Tom that he was the fastest purchaser for the second time, and mentions the jumpsuit.

The letter also says - "Wear it in good health. Or even wear it on your first day of school. That's when all the cool undergrads wear their new digs."

This is an odd turn of phrase as you would not wear digs, you would live in them, however it is a clue to the fifth poster location.

Repost from previous comments

I've made a couple of screencaps from the episode that the image comes from.

The first one is of Jack watching the monitors, and by that point the scene on monitor 2 was well and truly over.

The scond capture is earlier in the episode where Ben is watching the monitors, it just gives a better look at the general layout.

wow you great in that Dharma jumpsuit!

CerberusVenting has posted more Twitter pics of the bookstore display.

I've put a small poll on the side of the blog to see which is the favourite poster so far.

Ithink I know which will be in the top two, but it will be interesting to see which one is most popular.

zort70 artistic license or meaning:

control panel differs: switches are now where camera numbers should be.

I'll watch again, but looks like what Jack sees in epi, diff than what depicted here?

Thanks everyone!!! Lost is such a vast show and rich with material. It was a challenge to narrow all that down focus on a single idea. I'm glad you approved of the direction.

Hutch, it's awesome to think that one of your favorites is the latest piece. I'm always trying to find ways to improve as I go forward so it's good to know I'm headed in the right direction.

Patrick and Scott, I'll definitely let you know if I get a few prints from the run to sell.

Zort70, Cool! Any publicity is good right? I'm glad I started so much discussion...good or bad ;)

Malice, I was scheduled to do a chat at Feature Animation. Not sure what happened as far as scheduling, but hopefully it happens sooner than later. Hope you can make it...whenever it happens.

Capcom and JT, Thanks for the stamp of approval!

Larry, I'm so there!!! Fire up the stove and pop open the kimchi jar!!!

Zort70 said...

LotteryTicket, yes what Jack see's is much different.

He see's Skater in each others arms lying on the floor of the cage.

The scene on monitor two that is on the poster happens much earlier in the episode.

Amy Lynn said...

The jumpsuit looks great!!

Capcom said...

Tx for the comparison Zort. If S & K were just lying on the ground in the poster as in the show, it would be more kid-friendly for hanging in the TV room. :o)

FYI - the tongue sticking out was for me as I made her model it for me. I wish this letter stayed a bit closer to the others. It doesn't look like it really strayed.

I'm also having a problem drawing the line of what is really clue and isn't. There is of course a human component to the game and things can happen. The box that this was sent with was turned inside out and has interesting to/from. I don't think it's actually part of it though and I don't want to give out any addresses that aren't supposed to be released.

MJCarp said...

tomrex, google search that address and see where it takes you. Our discussion of tubes, mailers, etc. is buried in the 1000s of comments on this blog. I think the inside-out packaging VERY interesting and we should keep all in mind as we move forward.

More good theories while we wait for next clue

http://eyemsick.blogspot.com

Has anyone been able to pick apart that bookmark?

Capcom said...

What do you mean that the box was inside out? :-o

TomRex said...

They were green and recycled the box. The box had taken another journey. They just turned it inside out and used it again.

Capcom said...

Ah, I see. Tx. :-)

Zort70 said...

It has been mentioned that the bookmark might contain an image that is part of another poster, maybe the next one perhaps even the final one.

From what little I know of screenprinting, I don't see how such a 'painterly' design like the bookmark could be turned into a screenprint. I don't think it will be a poster in this series.

Zort70 said...

Morning all, yes I can see what you mean about the complexity of it.

I did have a thought that the full image, as this looks like a very small portion of it, could be a circle with all the characters in the circle with the dharama logos as an inner circle of some sort.

Anonymous said...

I'm with Zort on the bookmark being part of the final poster (or he's with me, since I mentioned the other day :) Don't know anything about screenprinting; just going by gut.

But does anyone have any idea as to what that llama-leg-looking thing draped across Juliet's shoulders is? Only furriness that comes to mind in the Lost canon is polar bear or Vincent, and it looks like neither.

Zort70 said...

I knew I got that idea from somewhere :-)

The thing across Juliets shoulders looks like either an arm or some part of an article of clothing.

MJCarp said...

Maybe it's the dog from Jacob's cabin.

Zort70 said...

Looks like The Crash posters have been sent out, the status of my order has changed to Shipped today.

maven said...

Yes, saw my Crash poster was shipped yesterday! Yeah!

My first thought about that thing across Juliet's shoulder was a polar bear, but on second look....nope! Plus Juliet really didn't interact with any polar bears.

Zort70 said...

I hope there isn't another update tonight as I'm off with Mrs Z to the Theater as it is our wedding anniversay.

Amy Lynn said...

We're going to a show tonight, too! No special occasion, though.

maven said...

Happy Anniversary, Zort and Mrs. Zort! How many years of wedded bliss?

Zort70 said...

A quick 14 years

Zort70 said...

Although we have known each other for 21 years now.

Tess315 said...

Happy Anniversary Zort.

Capcom said...

Re, fuzzy arm: Anyone old enough might think that it's White Fang, Soupy Sales' pet dog, ("The Biggest and Meanest Dog in the USA," who appeared only as a giant white shaggy paw with black triangular felt "claws" jutting out from the corner of the screen.) :o)

Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mr.s Zort!

Maybeman said...

Finally my Locke poster arrived! Have been looking at some of the artist's other stuff... and have found out we actually went to uni together and he knows friends of mine!!

Zort70 said...

Maybeman, that's a spooky coincidence.

You will have to get him to sign it again, this time with a personal dedication !

Tess315 said...

Capcom
I remember Fang. lol

Season 4 DVD deleted scenes, might be considered spoilerish by some.
Don't know if the ARG forum is the best place to drop this, so Zort, feel free to move as desired.

This is blowing Lost fans minds all over the net:

I've seen this. I have the season 4 dvds.
I'm very spolier phobic and I don't consider it a spoiler.

I also don't think it means anything other than he's been off the island before. Which we know from when he goes to the hotel. Also those are the same clothes he is wearing at the hotel.
I don't think he was there before he "jumped".
Hope you can understand what I mean. I'm trying to be vague.

Just my opinion.

MJCarp said...

Zort70 & Mrs. Z happy anniversary. Curtain must be rising about now. A clue must be in the works. Who's steering the ship? lol

I too posted a link to S4 deleted scene. If you take out Thins, try to find mine. Somewhere in Frame 5 comments. Although the scene has been available on YouTube for over a year. I even own the DVDs! Never ran through deleted scenes. More LOST homework to do.

Did anyone ever pick up on WHY University of Arizona, Tucson? Seems random.

*standing with nose at screen door waiting for poster*

scoutpost, how was Canyon? I braved a couple of hikes there.

Sayid's Girl:

I understand.

Since the clip/scene is from the deleted scenes, I am sure it can not be counted as Lost canon. But it sure raises some interesting questions after the season 5, 2 Lockes, and going into the final season 6.

We still have four (?) months until a new Lost episode. I think I am going to die in anticipation!

Tess315 said...

It is very interesting. But I honestly think the only "2" we have is Locke. I think this is a straight line from jump to hotel but was cut.

But I could be wrong.

I know how you feel. I dying from anticipation too. I rewatched all five episodes between the end of this season and mid July. Now I'm starting over again. lol.

Anonymous said...

We never saw them, but it was implied there were 2 (versions) of Doc Ray.

Remember when Ray washed up on shore with the cut throat. Faraday rigged the sat phone and Bernard secretly decyphered the Morse code to reveal that Doc Ray was still on the boat?

This is one crazy island!

Tess315 said...

thin
I see what you're saying.
Also I looked at my dvd so I could see a clearer version than the youtube.
It looks like you may be right. I never noticed that the first time around. I thought it was one of the other men.

All I can say is Loop Dude Loop. ;)

Anonymous said...

LOL, we need to tell everyone on the island,

"DO NOT touch the Frozen Donkey Wheel"

and just to be safe, repeat

"DO NOT touch the Frozen Donkey Wheel"

Capcom said...

So are we talking "The Prestige" here? :-o

Tess315 said...

Capcom
We're talking about a deleted scene that's on the Season 4 dvds.

But yes it could be compared to The Prestige.

Tess315 said...

There's a youtube link to it at thin's link.

Capcom said...

I know about the deleted scene, I was just asking if we're speculating that it's kind of like the Prestige trick/reveal, sorry, I didn't word that question too well. :-)

maven said...

I saw that theory on eyemsick's blog! It certainly blew MY mind!

Anonymous said...

Capcom, yes, the Prestige. Though is is slightly different, the end result is the same.

Desmond, Kate, Locke, Ray and now Ben, to varying degrees.

Again, the Ben out takes are not canon, but season 6 is going to be one heck of a ride.

And to make things worse, I now am wondering about the Sundra trench Oceanic 815 being faked, if you get my drift.

Capcom said...

Thin, do you mean as in that it wasn't actually faked, it was duplicated, perhaps while going through a vortex or something like that? That would be something. Earlier I was wondering if the 815 copy happened in another timeline, but then at ComicCon OA announced their perfect record, so that blew that thought away.

Anonymous said...

Capcom, yes, a duplicate.

Can you explain the QA perfect record? I either missed that or didn't grasp the meaning at the time, cause I followed Comic Con 2009 very closely.

Capcom said...

I'm speaking of the vid (one of three) released this hiatus where the OA stew is saying that they've got a perfect 30 year record, or something like that. And you know, the other two vids are the happy Hurley chickenman, and the America's Most Wanted show looking for Kate.

For a while I was also wondering if Ben said that to Richard about remembering birthdays, becuase RA had been duplicated many times like in the Prestige. Dumb idea. :-B

Anonymous said...

Capcom, I got ya, the perfect flying record of the Oceanic Airlines.

Well, in an alt universe, maybe it is a perfect record..and Kate kills the wrong plumber and Hurley is a happy chicken tycoon.

The Doc Ray elements have always bothered me. If the radio that Faraday repaired had worked properly, would we have heard Ray declare he was OK, while the losties stared at the fly buzzed body of the dead Doc Ray?

Now multiple Doc Ray by the original number of passengers on Flight 815, and reverse the scenario. Could on isle Jack have performed an autopsy upon the body of not a Doc Ray, but a Doc Jack?

Entering and leaving the island on the wrong heading appears to place the traveler into the wrong timeline, which would permit the twinning effect. I hope my gibberish makes sense! LOL

Capcom said...

Hmm, interesting about the heading!

Heheh, maybe that is what Jack did, they do both have a buzzcut after all. :o)

Tess315 said...

Little late capcom but sorry about misunderstanding you eariier.

Capcom said...

My bad. :-D

Zort70 said...

The theater was good, despite a technical problem interupting the performance 5 mins before the end.

We definitely have lots of pointers towards alternate / duplicate things or timelines, think bunny number 5.

I've just heard that the UK postal workers are voting on strike action, I hope that doesn't include poster delivery workers.

ReverendMilo

I would like to print that out and display at home for personal use.

Is that ok?

Either way, thank you in advance for a beautiful photo of my favorite poster so far!

ReverendMilo said...

I post my images so that those that are participating, but miss on getting one of poster on their own, can see the images as big as I can provide.

If that means that they have to print it out to study it, so be it!

Zort70 said...

I wonder how long we will have to wait for the next clue ?

Tess315 said...

Most of the clues have been late Thusday, haven't they?

I just checked there's nothing new yet.

Capcom said...

Thanks Rev, wow! BTW, did you post a big image like that for the Locke poster somewhere back in the other comments?

Capcom said...

Nevermind, I answered my own Q and just backtracked on your poster address.

Thanks again! :-D

Zort70 said...

The first clue for the last poster was posted late Wednesday evening (Early Thursday for me)

mistersh0w said...

hmmm, I haven't received my "The Crash" yet... Only reason why I'm a bit worried is, i've been consistently getting them the same time ReverendMilo has been getting his... Hope everything is ok... Wish we had tracking on these.

maven said...

I haven't gotten mine yet, either.

Capcom said...

Probably just the snailmail, it's been raining a lot everywhere in the states, heheh.

BTW, have you all seen Ian Somerhalder on "Vampire Diaries" yet? He's looking good as usual, but he looks a little different. Maybe just not so skinny as he was on Lost. And he's REALLY mean. A good creative stretch for him since he's such a prettyboy type.

Eugene said...

Mine came a couple of hours ago. I find it odd that when I ordered "The Numbers" I received an e-mail from right away from Go Merch with a Fed Ex tracking number. The others have come USPS with no tracking number.

I hope you all get yours soon. It's quite nice. But I still like the Dharma Van the best.

Congested said...

I still haven't gotten my Locke poster, so go figure. :/

Sort of OT, but I had to do this:
