No More From DuaneIsInsane 262

Update 7/31: Dark UFO is confirming that DuaneIsInsane is FAKE, and not affiliated with the ARG in any way. You can read about it here.

DuaneIsInsane is at it again. He's posted an "urgent" message at the SpoilerTV forums:
by DuaneIsInsane on Tue Jul 29, 2008 11:47 am
Sorry I haven't been able to reply. I've been busy going to places that Dan Bronson may have been before me.

The little information that I give in each post is very hard for me and I wish I could tell you more about what I know.

I knew about Dan Bronson two days before he made himself visible to the world because of a Halloween party I had met him at.

He wore a BumbleBee costume.
*Thanks to Nat for e-mailing about this.

There's speculation around the various blogs that BumbleBee is guiding us to the Transformer BumbleBee. Or perhaps we're supposed to look at the Bumblebee species as a whole and their mating, nesting and social behaviors?

UPDATE: He's back again at SpoilerTV, this time to help "clarify" things for us:
Re: Extremely Urgent.
by DuaneIsInsane on Tue Jul 29, 2008 8:19 pm

I can understand why my last comment may have confused a lot of you. The way my life works is probably not common to most of you.

To clarify, I have met Dan Bronson for the first time twice.
*Thanks to Lost2010 for posting this in comments.

Once again, it appears RuckusGuy has added a message in the source code:
<!-- Banks Claw -->
<!-- DOUBLEYOUDOUBLEYOUDOUBLEYOUDOTyoutubeDOTcomFORWARDSLASHwatchQUESTIONMARKvEQUALScW6xkv9vwos -->
Banks Claw is probably an anagram for Black Swan (RuckusGuy's second alias?)

The second line translates to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW6xkv9vwos (read it out loud), where you can watch the Dharma Initiative Bluetooth Booth Hack.

The YouTube page has this message from RuckusGuy:

DuaneIsInsane Predicts Dan Bronson at Comic-Con 54

A SpoilerTV forum member named DuaneIsInsane posted an urgent message about Comic-con, three days before the Lost panel. He correctly predicted that Dan Bronson would be at Comic-con, and that Dan Bronson is RuckusGuy:
In regards to Global Octagon Recruiting [sic], does the name Dan Bronson mean anything to anyone?
...
It may be closely related to the person who's going by the name RuckusGuy.
Dan Bronson will be at Comic Con
....
I had to wait until 12:18 to post.
I can't say why, but RuckusGuy has been hacking into Global Octagon Recruiting and I have reason to believe his real name is Dan Bronson.
After Dan's live (on tape) appearance at the Lost panel, Duane posted again:
He's done it.
Dan Bronson has done what he said he would do in his email.
I hope some of you are there to witness his accomplishment.
...
I can also tell you that Dan Bronson does background work.
...
I've worked alongside Dan Bronson for 2 years.
...
Dan Bronson does indeed go by the alias RuckusGuy.
What's also of great importance is that "Dan Bronson" is his 2nd alias.
Since Duane is claiming to have worked with Dan, he must also be "in-game". Or is Duane just insane?

FWIW, Tresbien over at InsideTheExperience found the actor who plays Dan Bronson - Jesse Heiman

* Thanks to Capcom for emailing me about this!

Lost Videos From Comic-Con 153

Straight from Tapdawg at Comic Con comes video of today's Lost Q&A panel with a few added surprises. You can watch all four parts at DocArtz.com and audio of the panel can be download or streamed at The Transmission. Part 1 and Part 2 of the video features an appearance from Hans Van Eeghen of Octagon Global Recruiting, who calls the testing results "abysmal" and "truly pathetic". He brings a "few" candidates to the stage that did excel at the tests. Could one of them be RuckusGuy? He encourages people to continue taking the tests Saturday and Sunday and then proceed to dharmawantsyou.com on Monday to register. Also from Tapdawg comes this Dharma video featuring a message from the man formerly known as Dr. Marvin Candle, with a plea to "save" them and "change the past". Could this be our new mission?

UPDATE 7/27: I typed up a transcript of what I could make out in the Pierre Chang/Marvin Candle video (click the image to view it clearly/larger). I think it's pretty close, but you can point out anything I missed or that should be changed in comments:

RuckusGuy Bluetooth Video From Dharma Booth 29

This morning there are loads of videos and lots of information from Comic-Con floating around the Internet. Yesterday was a busy day at the convention with the Entertainment Weekly Panel, followed by Damon, Carlton, and Jeff (Doc) Jensen taking the Dharma recruitment tests. Damon and Carlton both took the Io tests and Doc Jensen took Europa. Tapdawg at DocArtz.com has once again pulled through and gotten some great video footage and interviews with the guys as they left the testing area.

Ryan and Jen at The Transmission, have the audio of the entire Entertainment Weekly panel up for your enjoyment and you can download or stream it at their blog.

Finally, ODI has video of the RuckusGuy bluetooth hack from outside the Dharma booth. The Video is posted at Dark UFO and The ODI's blog. Also, there are caps of each individual screen at Dark UFO and Dharma Dummies.

Dharma Initiative Recruiting Project Tests 50

The first accounts of the "tests" at the Dharma booth at Comic-Con are rolling in. Lucky recruits are required to enter a booth where they are asked to choose a test, and then answer some questions aloud.

Ryan and Jen from The Transmission, have an interview with an early test taker, and also have taken it themselves. Jen took the Ganymede test and Ryan took Amalthea.

The questions for the latter were:
1. What was your first live concert?
2. What is the sound of terror?
3. What was the first album you bought?
4. Who is your constant?
5. What is the sound of red?
6. When were you last truly happy?

Word association photos:
1. A tree-lined road at night.
2. Skeletons.
3. A child in a sprinkler.
4. Little Red Riding Hood in bed with the wolf.

Thanks Memphish for posting this in comments.

Tapdawg
took the Callisto test and also managed to get a camera in the booth. You can see his video at DocArtz.com. His questions (posted at DocArtz.com) were:
1. State your name while holding up a number (they give you the number when you take the test).
2. Repeat the word Continuum three times, louder each time.
3. How are you feeling right now?
4. What animal do you relate to the most?
5. What 3 words best describe you?
6. What's your first memory?
7. Who is your constant?
8. Something like, if anything can happen does that mean that nothing can happen too?
9. Do polar bears make good pets?

Word association photos:
1. A Young boy is squirting a hose onto a young girl.
2. A sign posted an a tree said 'surprise?'
3. A picture of a single lane road in the dark woods.
4. A skeletal side view of the teeth and jaw.

Lost ARGs spacerThe names of the tests, in order are: Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Amalthea, Himalia, Elara, and Leda, based on screen shots from Comic-Con Live. They are all moons of Jupiter, and also tied to Greek mythology.

*Thanks Maven for pointing that out in comments.

Dharma at Comic Con 43

Comic Con opened last night with a jam packed Preview Night.  Ryan Ozawa of The Transmission podcast is covering it in full detail including photos from the Dharma Initiative booth which you can see on  his Flickr stream.

Ryan also has a complete
Comic Con blog with blog posts, audio blog posts, mini podcasts and photos. Last night Ryan was able to interview Emma from the Dharma Initiative booth. You can listen to that interview in the latest Transmission podcast, episode 33, at the 16:34 mark.  Ryan also managed to interview someone who went through the recruitment process.

UPDATE: DarkUFO has a copy of the of the Dharma waiver, which states the "game" is currently referred to as the Dharma Initiative Recruiting Project.

Dharma Dots 36

The Dharma Wants You website has been adding dots just above it's coming soon graphic, actually twice since launching on Friday. At first they appeared to be random, but now it looks like a pattern is emerging. I have "connected the dots" to make the pattern easier to see.

Will this eventually draw out some sort of Dharma logo or other message, or is this simply a countdown clock to Comic-con?

UPDATE 7/22: More Dharma Dots today. I've updated the graphic with the new dots and extrapolated the remaining dots.

UPDATE 7/23: More Dharma Dots. Not quite following my pattern...

UPDATE 7/23: Here is the pattern superimposed with the Dharma logo (rotated 90°), and another way to draw the lines...

UPDATE 7/24: Here is the final pattern, based on the actual Dharma logo from Comic-con. So close...

UPDATE 7/24: More dots added to the page today. Six sets of dots down, two more to go...

<!--
…If you’re reading this, wanna hear something cool?
I’ve got intel about his little “recruitment drive.”
They’re doing some kind’ve personality/IQ testing or something down in SD for ComicCon.
Buddy of mine works down there and has the approvals for their “booth,” he says once you go in no one knows what happens inside and you need an appointment to get in. He also said to make sure you’ve got your Bluetooth on and visible – he’s rigged up a little something.
-->

<!--
The whole thing sounds like elitist B.S., doesn’t it?
Well, I’m getting in that booth and taking the test.
As many times as I have to before I “pass” (whatever that means?)
And then…
If I can?
I’m gonna tape it so EVERYONE can see what these idiots are up to.
Should be fun, right?
See ya in SD. RuckusGuy OUT.
-->
It looks likes trouble is already brewing for Mr. Van Eeghen.

* Thanks to Ange for emailing me about this!

The most important panel will be the LOST panel on Saturday at 12:00, where an appearance by the DI/OGR is expected. Also, the DI is listed as one of the exhibitors on the show floor. DarkUFO has some inside information as to how this may play out:

  1. At the OGR recruitment booth there will be actors who will playing members of OGR recruiters.
  2. They are there to promote and make us sign up to an "online recruiting game". The recruiters will stand next to computer terminals that are connected to the fake site, in order to help users create profiles and to guide them through a fake questionnaire.
  3. A second group of individuals (3-4 actors) that are NOT the recruiters will also be at SDCC. No confirmation if they will be on the floor or at the booth yet, but most likely just the LOST Panel.
  4. OGR will also be a part of the LOST Panel. There will be 4 members of OGR.
  5. As of today, no cast members confirmed to appear and the only word so far is that Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will of course be there.
  6. At the panel, the OGR recruiters will make a LIVE "performance" to recruit new members of Dharma.
  7. The second group of individuals will make an appearance at some point during the performance to "throw a wrench" into the OGR's plans.

Sounds like a lot of fun - I wish I could be there. If you can't make it to San Diego either, we'll be covering everything here LIVE as news breaks. And if you are planning to be at Comic-Con, please send us any updates, news, websites, etc, to tips@LostARGs.com. Thanks!
