The Smokey Deal 174

After some confusion about Smokey, here is what Mitch from postersandtoys said in the comments to explain the situation…

Yeah, you're right. This all didn't quite work out how I envisioned it. I should have used a different item number. Since the price change wasn't visible to people, it did seem like kind of a sour deal, so I will be refunding the people that paid $300 their extra $100. Sorry about that, and hopefully my mistake doesn't reflect badly on Ken, I just honestly didn't forsee the in-cart price switch, and how it would work. I thought people would see the price change to $300, then make a decision. My apologies guys, sorry.

Smokey! 392

Smokey day is upon us! Good morning to the east coast, the bible belt, the west coast, and hello Europe, Asia and Australia. Smokey will go on sale "around" 2pm CST.

This is Greenwich Mean Time minus 6 hours. Which translates to 8pm GMT.

Here is the link.

Mitch added Further Instructions:
- Create an account first, be signed into your account before the sale.
- Make sure you use the two letter abbreviation for your state in the billing and shipping address (ie, use IA instead of Iowa).
- Make sure your billing and shipping addresses match. Even if you they are different, have them match, then email me later.

It will be Paypal only.

As The Kharma Initiative pointed out, Mitch posted this info in the comments:
Hey guys, I hear there are some rumors going around, so let me clear them up.
The 300 Ken Taylor Smoke Monster prints were ALL stamped/numbered, rather than signed. The shipping to Australia was too much of a risk, those boxes were HEAVY. The ones that go up for sale tomorrow are the exact same as the ones that were released through ABC, he just happens to have a damn good stamp that looks like they are signed. Secondly, there is some rumor going around that the colors are different on the ones coming out tomorrow? Not true, they are the exact same, in the same edition, and printed at the same time as the ABC ones.
Hopefully that clears up some of the weird rumors going around.

Mitch stopped by in the comments:
Wow, you guys are always just full of questions, aren't you? haha.
300 was the total edition, just like every other print. Less than 50 will be going on sale today, just like every other print.

And yes, I sell to Australia.

Thank you, Mitch.

Update: Mitch just put this in the comments: If you guys could please refrain from putting items in your cart, pushing "check out" at the end, then not paying, I'd appreciate it. It's causing me quite a bit of extra work. Thanks guys.

In other news: as reported by MiddayShadows, Kevin Tong will offer 45 Hatches Monday January 11, 2010 at noon PST… which is Greenwich Mean Time minus 8 hours. Kevin will sell the Hatch for $200.00, plus 10 Dollars domestic and 15 international shipping. He is an awesome guy and posted a set of instructions in his newsletter.

Smokey Thursday 354

After Tim Doyle sold his prints via his mailing list he dropped by in the comments…
'Holy geez! I've sent out all 40 payment emails- those people have until midnight CST to pay, and then I'll move to the next people down the line. Already 27 have been paid for. Thank you all!'

Ken Taylor confirmed via email last night that Smokey will come up on Thursday.

Update: Smokey will be on sale Thursday, January 7th at approximately 2pm CST… which is GMT - 6:00. As reported by The Kharma Initiative it will be available at Postersandtoys.com.

Await further instructions…

So the Dharma Van and The Barracks went on sale today as planned, but as a surprise Jason Munn sold The Statue, too. First pointed out in the comments by ImAnnie/Davide/Italy.

Olly Moss will release Locke's Secret via Twitter tomorrow:
40 spare Locke's Secret posters will go on sale tomorrow at a random time. $200 in the UK, $215 int. shipping. Will post here when available. Paypal, my site, shipping them myself.

Smoke Monster - Judged 185

A round up of everyones favourite P****d Off Giraffe (Hurley's theory). This was a very popular poster and sold out quickly, not the quickest sell out by any means, but it was liked by a lot of people immediately, probably because "ITS THE SMOKE MONSTER" and because of the bold use of colour.

I think the inspiration for this poster came from Locke in this original depiction of the monster.

I can see all of the elements used in the poster :-)

Picture from LostPedia

So on to some images of the poster, first a picture from Reanimator who has print number 108.

Next some closeups courtesy of ReverendMilo on DCAAPB.COM

I'll add my signature to this post when my print arrives, but in the mean time here is ReverendMilo's.

If you are asking why the gnome then I say why not, 1Miletogo took this picture

Finally some other pictures from around the web,

This is from the KR3W Denim Co., the people that produced the shirt, and on this page there is the single comment

"Quiero Una"

Which I think means "I Want One".

I believe that this is a Spanish Lost blog, but I'm not 100% sure !

Roswell in the comments has confirmed that it is a Spanish blog.

Click here to visit the PerdidosporLostClub blog

"Perdido por" means "crazy about" (in a positive way).

So to say you are "perdido por Lost" (or "perdidoS" it´s just the plural form) means you are "crazy about Lost".

The word "Perdido" or "Perdidos" alone means "lost" but "perdido por" means "crazy about".

So it´s really like a play on words: they use LOST instead of Perdidos to make it clear it´s LOST (the tv show)they are talking about, but in Spain "LOST" (the name of the show) is translated as "Perdidos" so if the owner of that blog would have wanted to write the title fully in Spanish it would have been "Perdidos por Perdidos" (the play on words would be clearer that way).

But summary: "Perdidos por Lost" means "Crazy about Lost" :)

I love my Shih-Tzu

While we wait for the next clue, here is a picture of me in a Shih-Tzu T-Shirt from Rusty's pet center. No I didn't pop over to LA just to pick one up, Maven very very kindly went back to the store to pick one up for me and then sent it on to the UK.

CHARLIE: Hey man. Don't run. Hurley. Just, just, sit down. I wanna talk to you. Come on. Don't do what you did in the store. Ok? There's no need to freak out.

HURLEY: No need to freak out? I'm trying to buy some jerky and a slushy, and suddenly you're standing over there by the Ho Hos. You're dead, what do you expect me to do?
