Frame 11 Clue 3 222

Hot on the heels of clue 2 comes clue 3.

Walkindude125 has told us that this is probably a nod to the Forbidden Planet logo, and also that the image of the UK comes from the Forbidden Planet website. (Annonymous told us last night that the previous post had the incorrect image from the vectorology website)

BuckarooBanzai has commented that the picture of Saturn is probably this image, which has been edited for the clue.

Thanks to JustAnotherSky for being first to tell us about the clue in the comments.

Morning (yawnnnn),

What's this a new clue?!?!(falls out of bed)

My laptop has become my new bed mate. Strange relationship, but strictly platonic. ;)

@All - Great work on location sleuthing!!! Kinda bummed that I wasn't up for new clue to help.

Off to work and will see what the day brings. Again, have a feeling it could be a quick reveal so may the power of F5 be with you all.

knightsintodreams said...

but wha does it mean?

Anonymous said...

I suggest taking a look at this and maybe deleting it. You can make the call. I posted it to show the previous clue matched to the new one. This is it, note the "map" is right above the Glasgow address.

mrtibbs said...

When did this clue come out - what time I mean?
Last night it was the map, when I get up it's the planet and it's already been solved!

The clues are like buses. You wait two days for one, then two turn up within a couple of hours!

On a lighter note I hooked up with a friend last night who's a photographer in L.A. and she photographed Dom for LOTR and said what a lovely bloke he is!

Anonymous said...

I found it around 4:00 a.m. eastern but I think it went up more around 3:00-3:30? Not sure exactly I should have been asleep. About 12 hours after the last one.

This is adding insult to injury - there is definitely one FP in London if not more, one in NY and I am pretty sure the head office is south london because i had to return a book i bought online there!

I am going to phone the Glasgow one when it opens to see if i can get anything out of them!

mrtibbs said...

Ok, so 7.30 uk time then.

ObFuSc8 said...

Yeah, I think the last bit went up at 1:30 central/2:30 eastern.

Sometimes I wish I could be nullsleep :)

ObFuSc8 said...

LostinLondon -- that'd be great, but if they stay true to form they're going to plead ignorance.

So what's with the shadow on the last clue just incidental/copied from some Saturn pic or does it mean something -- like a time?

LostinLondon said...

I know but will try anyway and see if the silences tell me anything ;)

scottbphilp said...

anyone know what time the store opens?

JPL said...

Helpful Hint - do not iron pants while F5'ing.

@LostinLondon - bummer... that it's not in your neck of the woods (along with Zort). So it's 5AM EST in USA for me. 9AM in Scotland. What time do you think they open? Great idea to call.... you'll break them with your charm & wit. :)

Zort70 said...

I'd like to know where the actual planet logo comes from, even if it is just a pointer to Forbidden Planet

ObFuSc8 said...

Just skyped the Glasgow store -- they claim they know nothing (of course). Hours are 9AM-7PM

Zort70 said...

I've got a feeling it will be a later afternoon, in the UK, reveal to let the US wake up.

Anonymous said...

hey guys guess what i live in glasgow and not that far from forbidden planet, but its looking likely that the reveal will be thursday and ill be working and unable to make it

Zort70 said...

Oh no, Anon, that is cruel.

I'm going to see if I can make it, but it depends on the time.

Martyn said...

Typical!

I thought about Forbidden Planet last night when I was reminising about getting my Apollo Bar. Tsk!

Has anyone figured out what's so special about the Glasgow store that they couldn't do it a lil bit closer to home?

Martyn said...

@Zort...

Will you be driving or going by train/coach?

If by car, I'd gladly pay halves on petrol to hitch a ride up with you.

Anonymous said...

@zort im gutted, its a cool lil shop aswell so i imagine the give away will be good to

steve

Martyn said...

Steve, you look a little bit ill mate. Better call in sick and get the rest of the week off. ;)

BuckarooBanzai said...

Zort, the F with the blue glow is the same typeface used in other hints before, so I assume that Tyson made this himself…

Andrew Adshead said...

From what I know, there are two companies that trade under the name Forbidden Planet. There's Forbidden Planet International (who I think originally traded under the name Forbidden Planet Scotland but didn't restrict to selling in Scotland) and they didn't take part in the Apollo Bar give away, they have the .co.uk domain. Then there's Forbidden Planet, who have the .com domain, and they have the large Megastore in London and a few other stores around England and Wales, they did take part in the Apollo Bar give away.

Zort70 said...

BuckarooBanzai - thanks.

Martyn, I'm still undecided at the moment. I'm not sure I want to drive, but I'm struggling to find another way at the moment.

Trial Attorneys said...

Zort - is it just me, or does it appear to be a sundial? The shadow points to 2. Could the F have a double meaning of Friday, which could be 2 US Eastern and 6? Glagow or 10 and 2 in the alternative?

LostinLondon said...

Darn- nothing from FP staff! Claim to have no idea about anything - even tried to say i am coming up from london so would help to know the day!

Andrew - thatis interesting, did't know they were different companies

Martyn said...

@Zort...

My pay day today and I'm seriously considering driving up there myself. When I get home tonight, I'm going to see where I can drive to and then catch a cheap train/coach to take me the rest of the way.

If you plan on going, seems cheaper and easier to car share as you only live an hour or so away from me.

Cooper said...

Hey guys!

I live in Glasgow and will be dropping by FP today (and tomorrow, I'm that much of a dork!) so will try and do a little investigation.

Comment here or e-mail me if you have anything to add, either to help me or questions in general.

Cooper
davidbcooper@perpendicular-universe.com
http://www.perpendicular-universe.com

PS It's worth noting that I haven't been paying close attention to the clues for the other frames and don't fully know how it all works, but I'll do my best! Any help appreciated.

Zort70 said...

Yes there are two companies, and it confused everyone no end for the Appolo bar giveaway.

BuckarooBanzai said...

Ring and shadow are taken from this Cassini image of Saturn… then colorized in Photoshop and the Planet and the F added.

Saturn

JPL said...

Hmmmm. Maybe a stretch because they could always give final clue for reveal, but if they don't... Saturn is the 6th planet from the Sun. Maybe a 6pm reveal time??? Or with Saturn being 3 planets away from Earth maybe a 3pm reveal.

Guess we won't know unless they post the final reveal clue with time/date.

Sandman90 said...

Good morning. If it's a borrowed image, I guess the sundial likelihood is low. I really hope it's Thursday as I'll be off work!

Roswell said...

Okay people, do you think the reveal could be today?
If so, I´m gonna need a poster buddy from 9am EST to 4pm EST (1pm to 8pm UK time.

Can anybody help? (as now it´s only 1 poster per person it would have to be someone who won´t be buying it, I guess).

LostinLondon said...

Martyn - so jealous that you get to go! great that you think you will be able to sort it and so fun if you road trip with Zort!

Cooper I reckon if you go there and talk to them in person it won't be so easy for them to deny everything to your face!

Who else is thinking of going??

LotteryTicket said...

Kelly, I'm hoping someone in NYC will go, dress up and send pics for our amusement. lol

lots of great photos over at Flickr is you want to see Forbidden store front.

Zort70, can you clarify, seems to be two store front images. I saw a note where some confusion re: Apollo Bars

Hi all. Lotto thanks for those links. interesting stuff :)

goheels83 said...

Zort - is the chatroom open? I tried to log in but it won't let me...

(I'm not very computer-savvy so I'm probably just missing something very simple...) Thanks :)

Amy Lynn said...

Assuming we're not getting a reveal today, I'll go over to the FP NYC event and check it out/take pictures. Prolly won't get there till 6:15 (event starts at 6pm), but it's rainy and gross in NYC, so everything's running a bit late, anyhow.

waffle said...

I don't check the website for ~18 hours and I miss two clues? Wow.

Have we made a connection between Buchanan and Forbidden Plant yet?

LotteryTicket said...

Amy Lynn, warm up that halloween outfit. Thanks for going. hope weather improves.

I see chat room down. I'll inquire.

I have sent Tweet, and I think @davidcooper is stopping by today?

Laura said...

The connection has to be Forbidden Planet on Buchanan Street right? It's in the UK and would fit in with the first clue from the last reveal regarding speaking English in Glasgow!
Also Forbidden Planet carries some (but very little) Lost merchandise!

waffle said...

Thanks Laura. I just googled the two and saw that, and realized there's no way that wasn't posted yet.

I'm on site and on a crappy internet connection today, but tomorrow I'll be in my office during a ISO audit. I'm not sure how well staring at the screen and F5'ing would go over if the auditor stopped by my desk.

Zort70 said...

Hi Laura

Not sure what is happening with the Chat room.

At work so can't talk much.

LotteryTicket said...

OK. I have sent @davidcooper e-mail. If you tweeter you can search #lostarg and save that search and you should see tweets as they happen.

Laura said...

Martyn said...

Nuts! No chance of getting tomorrow off it seems. I pray that it's a Friday reveal but I know full well it won't be. Shame, was sort of looking forward to driving for 5 hours up to Glasgow.

Anyone can go tomorrow, any chance of nabbing a few of the goodies, if any, for the rest of us losties in the UK who can't get up there?

Nevermind, you didn't use streetview to get that, did you. That's from clicking on the store location.

feel_the_insanity said...

Ugh, I go and have a life void of LOST for one day and I miss two clues! Yikes, I wouldn't be shocked if they spring the reveal on us like Buenos Aeros (horrible spelling). My guess is tomorrow sometime, but I guess you never know!

Yay, something in the UK for those fans!

Condolences on the ISO audit, Waffle. :-( Hope that all goes well.

goheels83 said...

@Frank - I figured out what you meant. It's not streetview, you are right.

waffle said...

Thanks Capcom. I managed to be out of the office for the last one, and I tried like hell to avoid this one too. I needed to be on site two days this week, and neither of the sites could see me tomorrow. Oh well, lots of hiding at my desk for me!

LotteryTicket said...

still working on chat room guys . . . ok I'm not working on it . . congested has been sent a note

Capcom said...

LOL Waffle, we used to become suddenly busy or needed in another building, when the auditors came around. It got so that we had to actually assign people to be around for the audit. X-D

Back on topic, it will be funny if TPTB have some kind of monster related thing at FP for Halloween. Along the lines of Famous Monster mag, etc.

MiddayShadows said...

hi all. I've been following, but I'm at work so I cannot post much...but great work. I saw the clue before I went to bed last night, and did some digging around, but didn't discover anytihng not already discussed. I've been to forbidden planet in NYC and it's a cool place - kind of a geek haven (so, perfect for me , natch) - exactly where you would expect a reveal to happen actually.
The first thing I thought of was that Damon's Hulk/Wolverine Graphic novel is out, and wouldnt it be cool if TBTB did a reveal involving one of his signings. I'm sure he's too busy with season 6 now though.
happy hunting!

Anonymous said...

There has been no clue to point this in the direction of NYC or a double reveal so to speak. Keep in mind NYC tonight & tomorrow night (well I guess the Bronx moreso) will be madhouse anyway due to the World Series games 1 & 2
However it's been pointing to Glascow from the beginning, just a thought.

I also think we'll have another clue (perhaps very soon) before the event/reveal. There was about a 12 hour difference between the last 2, i'm thinking the same for this one. Can't believe I was awake when this clue came through as if my sleep patterns aren't bad enough I fell asleep at 5:30 am

Zort70 said...

Amy Lynn..Fan Art has been on my mind for awhile. Matter of fact,,when they came out with Lost Post Cards..I did a few of my own,,posted them up on abc.com Lost sight and within a couple of hours ,,they were deleted by MOD. I figured,,since I had included the word " Lost" on the picture postcards I had tresspassed. Then Paul Sheer was going on about Fan Art,,mostly his,,so I tried it again on his sight. I got a message that my post was on hold and under consideration by TPTB..A few hours later it was no where to be seen. So..yes..maybe that would be cool..a Fan Art Appreciation of LOST. I'm all set to go.

As far as frame 11...I'm still mystified by the choice of Glasgow..Glasgow??????

I have my fingers crossed so hard for a Daniel Danger print depicting when the Others all light up their torches surrounding Jack, Sawyer, Locke etc. If you get the chance check out his prints, he does excellent work on night time settings and I think that (hypothetical) print could be incredible.

CuInAnotherLifeBrother said...

Just called Forbidden Planet asking about their opening time tomorrow and if they had anything planned. All I was told was that they have a new comic going on sale, Fantastic Four Visionaries:John Byrne Volume 1 (new edition) [url]http://bit.ly/2RWH0T[/url

That maybe what the 4's in the first clue in the tweet was all about

Amy Lynn said...

Great comment about the 4s!

Daniel Danger's stuff is beautiful. I like the idea of the torches moment, or maybe during the flashes when Sawyer sees Kate helping Claire give birth?

Anonymous said...

Re: The 16th print....

The Ronnie Midfew site said something like "15 will be lost; the 16th will be found." Could that mean that the 16th print will actually have to be physically found somewhere, sort of like a scavenger hunt?

Martyn said...

Wow, I want a Daniel Danger print! His work is amazing!

Looks like dan mccarthy but with a lot more finer detail and makes it seem more realistic.

I am loving the Daniel Danger stuff too. Neato!

@ Adam - Ya, I had a cool print idea for Dan McCarthy after I had seen his stuff, but for some reason he didn't read my mind;) Not that his idea wasn't cool:) WCM-Smokie seeing Losties on the beach 1st night, through trees, w/stars glowing overhead, water, campfires, & Losties in silhouette looking back @ Smokie. Charlie "Terrific."

Whoa, I've missed a lot.

Hey, I'm Ginger now, not Shane, awesome.

@ Ginger
That would have been very cool. I was originally disappointed in his but that one has grown on me to the point of being my second favorite (after I chose not to purchase of course).

I wasn't familiar with Daniel Danger before, but a print of his would be really nice.

The print I keep envisioning is "Not Penny's Boat" by Tyler Stout. He does a lot of movie posters with very busy montage images - I can see Charlie in the middle, with a montage of all of his deaths drawn around him.

CUIALB - very interesting find. Maybe a Lost-type comic book cover or glossy postcard as the swag?? That would be pretty awesome.

Tyler Stout is OK, but I can't imagine we'll see another movie poster. Been there done that.

I also like the idea of the 16th being a scavenger hunt type of deal- you have to "find" it.

I am watching mighty Liverpool battle it out against Arsenal. If anything happens to occur I will be upset

Ginger said...

@ Adam - Me too:( I've got my Hatch though, so I'm good:)

Zort70 said...

HenryGaleWasHere, yes in a way I hope it isn't like the other posters and we don't have to compete with others to get it.

HenryGaleWasHere said...

It will be interesting to see how the 16th will be different from the others...

Eugene said...

Yes. I am hoping that the 16th will only appeal to the Lost fans.

And if it's fan created art work than I think there is a quilt out there that might get my vote. ;-)

I am hoping the 16th frame will be the original DCAAPB picture in a much larger run so everyone that has been following along can get one. Maybe a non-screen printed version so they can make a few thousand of them.

@Amy Lynn,

Sorry,as you can see my sleep issues, too much messing with these clues as well as my kid are taking their toll. I'm not focused on reading correctly and misunderstood the NYC comments as pertaining to the reveal (plus my eyes hurt and i'm getting old). I'm trying to lend a hand, good intentions :)

daniel danger.........jacob's cabin

Ginger said...

@ Anon - that would be sweet.

Adam said...

@ Anon
That would be pretty damn swell also

Hi all.
Now the waiting game begins. The RSI in my f5 finger is back!

Adam said...

Damn I was close this time.
What time is that in the U.S.?

Amy Lynn said...

Um, typo? 10/28 is today

Masheen said...

Regarding poster 16: I'm really hoping it's Jack Bender's Mural. Perhaps the orginal size is a little much to ask so I'd be fine with 18x24.

A boy can dream can't he?

Eugene said...

That can't be right can it?
Must be 10/29?

comixguru said...

is that in 10 minutes!!?!?

Eugene said...

Actually that was 12 hours ago. My nose is bleeding. What year is it?

vud said...

Is the reveal there now?

jeremy said...

If I'm doing my math correctly, then that's 2:00am Pacific and 5:00am Eastern.

Is that right?

Jesse T said...

Eugene said...

But nice picture of Walt
