Dear Ronie Midfew 133

Dear Ronie Midfew,

Please find enclosed a collection of your correspondence starting from your most recent letter which seems to contain the word "Super" as a clue to the next poster reveal. We have also tried to point out any mistakes you may have made in your correspondence.

Incidentally, you always end your letters "Best and thank you", I wonder where all your wishes have gone ?

If you wish to contact us to discuss, please write to us at the usual address.

Kind Regards

Since I tossed these in at the end of the last post comments, I'll repost here again:

I attempted to take some shots of "the Transmittion" not sure how happy I am with them yet, but here are some links for those that are printing these out for ummmm clues...
(suggestion - use right click and open in a new tab with these links)
print 9
transmittion tower
quote
signature

page isnt built yet, and I wont know if I am sticking with these shots or not for awhile (Halloween and all) but there ya go!

-merged double -

@Congested,
in case you missed my request on darkufo, could you tell me your order time from the email? Knowing how many milliseconds behind you I was could help me have a restful weekend not wondering.

and it turns out Andy was only a few milliseconds behind me!

PM or DM me if for some reason you are uncomfortable posting it in public.

Thanks! And happy halloween everybody!

Re: Super

Apologies if this is old news.

Googling Shepard Fairie turned up a poster for Art Basel 2008 which mentions Spread and Supertouch.

link

If I am understanding what I'm reading, Supertouch is an online art hub founded by someone named Jamie O'Shea, who is also the editor of Spread magazine.

link

Perhaps this is way off base, but I thought it was interesting given the Super clue.

Nice photos, Reverend Milo. Great work.

ReverendMilo said...

Thanks! I have been whining about how hard it is to shoot these prints with their insane color and tonal ranges, basically fishing for compliments - j/k
actually it is my way of saying I have sympathy for the photographer that tries to display these for our purchase over on DamonCarltonAndAPolarBear. They really are hard to shoot mainly because you have to decide what you are going to sacrifice to preserve what you want to show.

Kelly said...

Great job Reverend Milo! Love the pictures.

So, any final thoughts on costumes? Maybe we can submit our lost costumes and do a poll or something. I know there were already a few Dharma workers slated to be out, and I would love to see the others (every pun intended).

back_gammon said...

Reverend Milo, you deserve a lot of compliments on those photographs. I've tried to photograph my two prints and the results were so poor I've given up.

On the other hand, I've been successful at photographing my dog in her Halloween costume.

Here she is. Dharma Doggie!

She's all set to help Pierre Chang supervise the drilling at the Orchid Station.

Totally awesome, Lotto!

ReverendMilo said...

Thanks Thorsten! I will reprocess them through and see what happens.

If you cant tell I am entirely self taught amateur photographer, 3-d modeller, and digital designer.

All of my photo manipulation work was learned using photoshop to create textures for MMOPRG game models (but I was actually contracted for my work by MTV after they saw what I was making for games).

But, with no real professional training, I get a bit self-conscious.

back_gammon said...

LOL, thanks for the kind words about my doggie's costume picture.
Each year she's had a LOST related costume. If I can dig up the pictures I'll post them later.

thorsten said...

Hi Milo!
You know that I am a fan of your work, your twitter icon speaks for itself. Let me know if you need anything, I just finished my book about LR2 ;)

The cool thing about Lightroom is that it allows easy access to the power of camera raw, circumventing the way you use the plug-in in PS. If you use ACR already, I would suggest that you toy around with the settings for white balance, and vibrance, to color-correct your images.

ReverendMilo said...

Thanks Thorsen!

I can provide you with the Raw jpg's of my prints so far if you wanted to play with them too. And, I do all of my photoshop work manually (no autocorrects and no plugins) because I am self taught, lol

My background on my twitter page is one of the textures I made for a huge light tower for there.com

Those that are familiar with There.com - I am the designer there known as droopy (the pink bunny on the nike ads in the main plaza), but I haven't been modelling for at over 2 years since my baby came and wife passed. I also did the early work (shamefully) for Virtual Laguna Beach and Virtual The Hills.

friend me on FB and I can get you a zip.

Sorry for being all chatty this morning, I havent had a conversation with anyone other than my 2 year old for 18 hours.

RevMilo, Those transmission pics look great! I just got and hung the print and your photos definitely show the quality of the print. Also, thanks for all your photos on dcaapb.com. I had been following since comic com and held off on getting the posters until I saw your site. You (and your pics) are the reason I got the dharma van. That led me to get the hatch, transmission, swan and the kidnapping! Thanks again!

@Rev Milo love the pics. I'm eager to receive this poster. I keep thinking it will be any day now and every day I come home to no poster. But your pics have definitely shown more contrast & colors than what we saw, which excites me.

I echo (echo) those saying the need for a new clue keeps getting more and more, what's the word I'm looking for (yeah I should think before I type not while I type, but I blame having to work on Halloween & my inability to not stop typing) necessary. Vital. I crave it. It's bad. They give me teeny tiny highs. Which for a girl stuck at a design firm right now is kinda nice once in a while.

And I'm done. Rambling. I really need to get a muzzle.

Anonymous said...

Well Lotto...out here in the new west..perhaps because we can remember still when we were kids..the traditional pumpkin has been replaced by the 10cent plastic bag with a pumpkin face printed on it. Just stuff it with lawn clippings and plop it out front..voila!..If the little ...devils decide to have their way with it,,,no big deal, just get out the lawn blower and blow into the neighbors yard. Which reminds me..she took off at the set of sun. Boy is she asking for it! Shes one of the extremists types that doesn't believe we should be supporting a childhood welfare dependency on free candy. Calls them all damned democrats. Then she wonders why her tree gets toilet papered ever year. I won't tell her the easiest way to get the paper out is with the garden hose. Just spray the tree down!. No, its more fun watching her with a rake out there.

I've learned to buy the candy I like the best. Any left overs I then get to enjoy. Reeses PBC's are my favorite. Kids love'em too. Give me another one! Give me another one!

MJCarp said...

" time doesn't matter on a damn island" so I'll just fall back with the rest of the world.

back, back, back

so few memories of Halloween remain clear except that is was always hot (southern gal). I remember being a hobo with torn clothes, a stick with stuffed bundle on the end, maybe a clown. We had great hunted house (abandoned) for daring and one house that silhouetted murder scenes from their living room picture window. This was the year of the razored apple scare and checking each piece was mandatory. Mrs. Feldman across the street made her living room into a mini cafe and made beignets. good times.

kiwi..Sorry..that one went rite over. My unfamiliarity with Colemans is to blame. But.. many questions come to mind upon your mention.

Is Colemans mustard a particularly offensive mustard?..as in a little bit goes a long way?

Are squeeze bottles not used in application of mustard to food?..and if they are,,do they control the mustard well?

or.. is mustard applied to everything edible and therefore the waste?

Again..sorry for not seeing it. Maybe you can help this ignorant Yank?

@ LotteryTicket... Regarding the "super-sized" frame 10 wrap up photo - the Widmore Publishing comic board- I wondered earlier if that is meant to be a clue in and of itself? Tyson obviously knows what he's doing, so I think it has to be intentional.

Ron Hermans wrap up twitter for frame 10 was a transition clue into frame 11, so this has precedent...

kiwilostie said...

You = Wellington

ObFuSc8 said...

Hi ARGies!

I agree about the oversized backer board, and and posted some stuff in on the ABC board in response to Mel.

Sure Tyson/GoMerch have been slipping up along the way, but they have caught their mistakes and amended or changed them pretty quickly -- and with the last mistake on the date of the Frame 11 reveal, and the "no time traveling needed" comment, I'm pretty sure they are actually popping into some of the ARG boards. So, they would have updated the oversized pic if it indeed was in error.

Would love it if it were linked to CERN, but that is the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The SSC (Super Conducting Super Collider) is a now defunct project that would have been in Texas (Mel -- another Texas connection for you ;) ). At present the Tevatron at Fermilab in Batavia is the worlds 2nd largest particle accelerator. There was a campaign to have the SSC come to Batavia/Aurora when I was in high school but we lost out to Texas, partly because of the concern about effect on the local landscape/environment. Had the SSC been completed it would have yielded a collision energy almost triple that of LHC/CERN. And of course while both use superconducting magnets in their final stage, neither have "Super" in their name, so we may be a bit LOST here.

But then I realized that the oversized pic at the end of Frame 11 means "Large" like the Large Hadron Collider (CERN)! OK, I realize I have now argued both sides of this and will give up for this night of All Hallows Eve.

kiwilostie said...

LT - Im not in Wellington, but yes that time is me!! :)

MJCarp said...

ok. All Hallows Eve is over. Clue please

ObFuSc8 said...

LT, I'm with you on the 4 reveals taking us through the last week of November, but am not totally sure wha they will do about Thanksgiving. Getting the Frame 15 reveal out of the way before makes sense, but a bit crammed towards the end.

Then for the 16th and final frame...maybe a true hunt for clues -- without a posted URL, and only those finding their way to the correct website actually able to log in and purchase print 16?

kiwilostie said...

Im refreshing the HUB like its a poster reveal! Expecting the clue soon...
