Frame 7 Clue 3 - Ventura Boulevard 100

Frame 7 Clue 3 is posted and it points to the same street that Rusty's Discount Pet Center is on.

However 11600 appears to point to a florists, Fiore Designs a few doors down from Rusty's

Thanks to Julien via email for letting us know about the new clue, and JPL for letting us know about Fiore.

There is another 11600 Ventura Bl. that I can find, in Illinois, but it looks like a private street so I don't think it can be there.

Just looked closer at the map and spotted Killer Shrimp !

Since Rusty Jr. greets every customer at the door maybe Rusty will have the clue.

I think the 11600 is just the street sign telling you what block you're on. I still think Rusty's is the place.

Avondale Blog - the confusion over the location may just be my misunderstanding of how the US road system works.

Amy Lynn said...

Yeah, I agree. 11600 is the block. Looking forward to hearing when this event is going to be, and what kinds of fun stuff they have in store!

Zort70 said...

Amy Lynn said.....and what kinds of fun stuff they have in store!

I would have though the answer was obvious - Pet supplies ;-)

Amy Lynn said...

LOL, well I meant maybe a personal appearance by Vincent/Madison. THAT would be excellent.

maven said...

Definitely street signs indicate the block numbers in 100's. The next block sign will be Ventura Blvd. 11700 or 11500 depending whether you're going north or south.

I think Rusty's is a pretty safe bet....Vincent and dog toys and my super "sleuthing" calling the store! LOL

An appearance by Vincent/Madison or a look-a-like seems like a perfect opportunity! I bet they put the URL on his collar!

Koobeton said...

I wonder what time the URL reveal will be at. I get so anxious about missing the reveal due to work and therefore missing a potential must-have print.

MJCarp said...

Zort70 - excellent, new comment bubble! Love it.

Best guess for reveal is Thursday a.m. as super-sleuth Maven pried information out of unsuspecting store clerk (see comment above).

Does Ventura Blvd need new street signs? The image "venturabl11600.gif" reveals a long and weathered life for this guy.

Again, "hi" to all new to this blog, commenting or lurking. You can follow me at Lottery_Ticket (twitter). We will have several "on the scene" reporters for another LA reveal. If you are going to the 'party' and use twitter feed, let us know.

Watercooler moments revealed: the numbers/Hurley, Locke in a wheelchair, Dharma drives VW vans, the crash, Jack's voyeur moment, the statue has 4-toes (but who can tell?). What's next? Desmond in the hatch, the Others, the temple, Smokey, the frozen donkey wheel.

Actually, I am hoping for composite image like Mr. Tan's "The Crash" or Mr. Moss's "Locke's Secret."

maven said...

LT: Not all our street signs look like Ventura Blvd. 11600! LOL I don't know that particular sign, but it looks like it's been weathered or there's some sort of underlay on it? Of course, LA is in a budget crisis (what city isn't) and replacing signs is probably not on top of the agenda!

If it's Thursday morning, I hope it's at 8am when the store opens. Hubby took off a day from work so we can go to the LA Co. Fair (which we do every year) and it's closing this weekend. Hopefully it will be when it opens and I can be there at 8am. These things usually go fast so it will be over by 8:30 or so and I can still make the Fair! Why couldn't it be on a day I have nothing to do?

maven said...

Here's my twitter page

If it's Friday, I'm willing to give up a Mah Jongg day!

Amy Lynn said...

I would be surprised if it weren't tomorrow or Thursday, given that it's already been almost a week since the last poster.

I think the manager you spoke with might have been joking with you about being out of town to throw you off.

MJCarp said...

maven, do you have a day with nothing to do? lol

The Fair sounds great. We are going to 34 degrees tonight and now forced to admit "summer" is really fall.

maven said...

LT: I really meant a day when I'm not committed to something that's hard to get out of! LOL There are things I'm always willing to cancel, postpone or change!

I really got the feeling that the Asst Mgr was being truthful with me and the owner was out of town. I'm hoping when he/she gets back Thursday, they'll need a day to get everything set up? But, you're right, LT, it's been a long time between reveals!

Thanks, I've been tweeking it a bit over the last hour or so, but I think it is in the final state now.

It just makes it a little more obvious where the comments are.

Zort70 said...

Maven - all efforts are appreciated, especially if it means missing out on something.

Zort: Love the comment bubble...don't have to scroll down looking for comments and see if the number has changed! Had no idea that can be done.

A little OT: Conan O'Brien had slipped and fell and hit his head the other night. Coming back on last night's show I heard on CNN that he said after hitting his head he now understands what is going on with LOST! LOL

Tess315 said...

I never see the new stuff unless there's a new post.
I open the comments in a new window and leave it.
Then I'll refresh now and then through the day to see if there's any new comments.

I'm off to follow you on Twitter now, I thought I already was but apparently not.

Sandman90 said...

Good day, all! While it is probably just coincidence, could the decision to use the "Ventura Blvd" sign also be another hint referencing Ace Ventura: Pet Detectective (operative word being PET)? My wife tells me it's a stretch but hey, that's half the fun.

@ sandman
lol that's true!! whoa, i didn't even think of that, maybe jim carrey will be handing out fish biscuits X3

No additional info yet? Pffft. Let's move this along, my credit card is getting cold.

Congested said...

Okay, for a variety of reasons I wanted to remain anonymous on the order number thing... mostly it was a convenient way of not publicly getting my hopes up. Needless to say I was order #776 for the poster, I got poster 101/300, and I got a letter and package today.

Sorry for the suspense, but I think this one calls for its own blog post over on my Lost blog (which is very dusty)... so when its all up I'll post the link here.

Unknown said...

Congrats Congested! Look forward to seeing what your prize was.

Tess315 said...

That's great congratulations!

Zort70 said...

I wonder if we will get a new clue tonight ?

We don't seem to get them very long before the event so it could be on for Wednesday.

maven said...

Wed morning is tough for me. I do volunteer work, and they count on me. It doesn't start until 9:30 and it is only about 10 from Rusty's. So if it starts at 8:00am I could do both (I will let them know I might be a little late!)

Okay: "Pet Sounds" confirms Rusty's Pet Discount!!!!!

Capcom said...

That's awesome! I almost asked if you got the bass but thought if you did it would ruin the surprise. Right on for you!

Congested said...

Thanks guys, but really thanks to the folks who put it together. I'm in awe.

And Amy I got tickets to the Emerson thing in December so maybe I'll bump into you there again. ;)

@ Maven. Yeah it took me a second when reading it to figure out the reference. I was thinking about the Charlie connections and "Good Vibrations" (which incidentally was released with the single for "Let's Go Away for Awhile," which is on "Pet Sounds." :)

MJCarp said...

I go so excited about the bass I forgot to read the letter! My thoughts posted at Audibly Lost. Very, very happy for Congested.

@Mel/others... thanks again.. but really it's TPTB that get the credit here. Pure insanity. :D I hope this is an indicator of what's to come. Maybe they'll start giving out props from the show. o_O

get cupcakes and you get a skateboard deck. Pay for last minute reserve seats at a pay venue release and dress up in lost gear, you get blink 182 stickers from vendors...

Tess315 said...

That's so sweet congested!
When I was searching the clues for
for the last event I read that Pete Wentz was giving away a bass guitar at each concert.

I was wondering if this one would be given away.
Congrats again.

maven said...

Thanks, Congested, for that tip. I've disabled that for now. After this is over I'll enable it again.

That's good to hear maven. I was just going to tell you Twitter is still telling me you have me blocked.

I just noticed the letter I got says that Damon and Carlton are co-creators of Lost. (Only Damon is a creator.)

Also they call the ARG the "LOST Underground Art Series" ...as if it's the official title of the ARG. (Notice the capitalization of letters.)

Just some food for thought.

Roxanna said...

@Congested
It was first referred to as the Lost Underground Art Project

Signing out for the night. Best of luck to everyone tomorrow providing the print is not a stinker. Will be following when I can at work!

Congested said...

Has anyone else read this rant about the event last week in Dallas? While I'm not totally on the same page, it's another account of the event that I hadn't read yet.

All things being equal, this is sort of how I felt after the event here in NY, but I held back on putting a post like that together in hopes of brighter days. :/

Amy Lynn said...

I certainly feel bad after reading that rant, but I would like to point out that we most certainly did not GET cupcakes.

Anonymous said...

Geez! Its either PST, PDT, DST, MDT, MST or any other dang time zone! Doesnt make it easy for us 'others'! Thiiiink I got it down for my local time. kiwi-lostie

maven said...

I think that rant is valid...especially if you have to pay to into the concert (how would anyone have seen the URL on the guitar anyway?)! But we LOST fans are pretty crazy and dedicated. Anyone can just sit back and wait for the URL reveal online because the posters aren't for sale right away. The way the URL was revealed for Poster #6 online by way of the cheating (IMHO) is another way not to get involved in the hunt and fun.

I just look at it as a way to meet other LOST fans, maybe get something fun or whatever. If I had to pay to get in I would think about it though.

Setting my alarm for 6:30AM...leaving by 7AM (I'm sure there will be traffic at that time).

Sherry said...

I don't want to be mean about that rant, but as someone who also lives in Texas, going to the Fall Out Boy concert was just a bad decision. Yes, I thought about it, but then I read to follow it on twitter, since they NEVER said to actually go to the concert (which it also reiterates on almost every page of the site in the rules). They actually told you not to by opening a twitter account. I followed the twitter, and they posted the picture of the guitar before the poster went up for sale. And I got one. Not sure what you can complain about based on what they said to do. It's a totally irrational argument in my eyes. don't mean to personally attack at all, just makes very little sense because you made up your own expectations.

Sherry said...

Also, I just reread the rant and realized she is saying that the person who ordered first probably cheated and knew the site before the event. EVEN if they knew the site before, the site did not start actually selling the poster until at least 20-30 minutes after they put the website on twitter. SO, even if they cheated and knew the URL name early, they STILL had the same chances of actually being the first order as someone who only read what they said to do and followed it on JUST Twitter. AGAIN, I don't mean to personally attack, but this is a rather one-sided rant.

Anonymous said...

Sherry, I am not justifying the rant or saying that you are right... but the whole point of a rant is to let off steam and give your opinion.

Scoutpost said...

Wow, I'm glad you all are following this so closely, 'cause since school and soccer have started, I'm just lucky to check in every once in a while to find out when and where to go! You guys are more than on top of it, figuring it out before we even get all the clues....awesome!

Maven- you can do this, I know you can! Have fun!! I will follow along tomorrow morning as best I can while carting the kids to school. Maybe they'll be giving away yellow labs! LOL

Congested- way to go man on scoring that guitar! very cool!

And re: the rant. I do feel bad for her, because it's hard to be that close and make such an effort only to have the rug pulled out from under you- so to speak. But in the end, I think TPTB are to be thanked for all of this fan appreciation they have put together. It has been quite a task, and none of it was expected.

Wow what a lot of info just after I went to bed !

Congested that is one serious prize, I hope you can play :-)

ReverendMilo - Understand your frustration.

Maven thanks for going down to Rusty's say hi to vincent for us, get us all a dog collar with the URL on.

Avondale Blog said...

Oh I hope you get to see Vincent/Madison! If so, get a photo - I'm following you on Twitter. A dog collar with the URL would be great.

I read the rant, and can understand the frustration, but I still think on the whole we're getting very good treatment from TPTB. The "game" is challenging in a fun way and we all get the opportunity to *buy* the posters at the same time. Some will get lucky and get better stuff. Good for them.
