LOST Closeup 1140

For a poster that is supposed to be found it is remarkably LOST.

There have been so many pictures flying around that it is almost impossible to compile them into a small space. I'll see if I can collect some together and post some more in the next few days.

Meanwhile we still have a poster to deal with, it seems quite odd posting closeup shots even before it goes on sale, but here we go.

This next image is interesting in that on top of the "T" looks like a letter F

You can see the plane in the distance in this image, we are led to believe that this is important in some way to season 6.

The heiroglyphs here seem to be the same ones that were on the Swan Countdown timer.

This image shows some of the Dharma Symbols and the words at the bottom of the poster that do not appear on the version that appears to be for sale.

These excellent pictures come from PatMC and ReverendMilo

I mainly posted "nice" so that nobody would be able to post "first"

Amy Lynn said...

Definitely interesting. I'm not sure it's something I'd ever hang up, but interesting.

Nicole said...

I really really hope I get this.

Zort70 said...

It is definitely a Geeky type of poster rather than a standard piece of art.

ChrisL said...

The guy can sure draw! Cool pics Zort.

Kelly said...

The closeups are great, Zort. Great job, yet again!

DvdBos said...

Great job.

According to Paul Scheer, our waiting is almost over.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

very kewl close ups !

Geoffrey said...

This is my favorite, just in a general not art, but LOST sense....still no idea when the reveal today is eghh?? or has someone figured it out?

maven said...

I've been looking at the poster I got and haven't really seen anything pop out at me yet!

Still floating from last night! It was soooo crowded in that gallery and it got so hot!

@ChrisL and everyone: The presentation of the LostArgs poster spontaneously happened when the producers showed up at the line. I'm glad I did it then instead of waiting until we got inside....the ultimate madhouse! They seemed really appreciative of the poster and were in awe of the work involved. They said they would hang it in the Writer's Room! Later that evening when I was talking with Gregg Nations (how cool is that to say?), I asked him to make sure the poster gets hung and then I asked him if he was aware of LostArgs and he knowingly said he was aware of us and check us out every day! Now THAT's cool! He later introduced me to Corey, who is Carlton's assistant, and I asked him to also make sure the poster gets hung in the Writer's Room. Maybe he could take a pic, but he said he is not allowed to take pictures of the Writer's Room. But he seemed so nice and sincere, I'm sure it will happen!
Hope I did a good job for everyone!

Eugene said...

You did an amazing, stupendous, colossal, awesome job. Glad you enjoyed it.

Kelly said...

Whoa, very cool Maven!!!! Thanks for the update. So technically, we will be in the writer's room with them! :)

Unknown said...

13 minutes?

ChrisL said...

We saw it on Milo's live feed Maven. And we yelled MAAAAAVVVVEEEENNNN!!!

You were a star.

Eugene said...

13 minutes until it's PM. And then up to 12 hours of F5ing. Yikes.

Unknown said...

do you think they will scan the poster for any implanted mics?

Lisa-Maladylis said...

Maven, you did wonderful !! Did you see the couple of screen caps I got of you handing it to TPTB ? the first one you had the poster upside down and I'm typing in chat, turn it over, turn it over. You represent very well. !!

ryan said...

I do not know if anyone mentioned this but the clouds have stuff in them. I hope I get this one I have missed the last 4. I actually bought the barracks on ebay. My wallet hates my lost addiction

Nicole said...

Ok so 11.52am (7.52pm GMT) is out.

And apparently Jensen said that time wasn't too far off. So... WHEN?!

DvdBos said...

Where did someone say "i talked with Jensen who said we have to wait til 9PM"?

brightgreenpupil said...

You guys don't think it'll be available at exactly the PM mark?

lostsailors said...

Maybe it could be 1:08 PST! Hehe.

Unknown said...

@imanniedavital- i remember someone posting that too.

DvdBos said...

It was near 11.52pm i think.. so surely not now..

The Blot said...

w00t! I know this was already mentioned in the previous post, but thanks to The Daily What my blog The Blot Says... is now being linked to by Paul Scheer!

So 9pm... what time zone? This is awfully confusing.

Zort70 said...

I'm both a little sad and a little happy, that I've updated the LostARGs banner and Twitter background for the last time with the 16th poster.

Callie said...

I'm at the point where I think I'll just stick to F5ing the whole day, regardless of anyone's time claims. I don't want to chance missing this because I chose the wrong person to listen to.
Of course, there is still the issue of not knowing my password.
So this is all sort of pointless anyway. Gah.

Unknown said...

What about the gut in the scuba gear? what is that from, i don't recall?

Zort70 said...

Plus I'm very happy that Reverend Milo sent me a Dharma Beer T-Shirt that arrived today and I got a Christmas card from Comixguru.

Unknown said...

Hey Callie- you can always sign up for a new account instead. I got the Ben poster and I signed up for my account as that happened!

ChrisL said...

Zort :-( but then :-)

Ginger said...

Where is the polar bear in the poster? I can't see it. Please help me see:)

Zort70 said...

Matt, that is Desmond when he was working in the hatch and had killed Kelvin.

mrtibbs said...

there seems to be a lowercase "i" in the O of the word LOST, in addition to the "F" that's on the T

Zort70 said...

Is it me or does Ben look a bit like Data from Star Trek ?

Martyn said...

@roxanna...

Thanks for that tour package website, currently e-mailing them to get info about getting a flight over there and about the itinerary. Can't believe i'm going to go to Hawaii for the season premiere, so awesome!

Ginger said...

Thanks mrtibbs!

Ginger said...

Yes Zort!

Awesome Martyn!

DvdBos said...

This will be a LONG evening/night. I will stay awake til 2.02 o clock (5PM) and get awake at 5.55AM (8.55PM PST)...

Lisa-Maladylis said...

well good morning Martyn, nice of you to wake up and join us lol jk.

mrtibbs said...

Ginger, I know what you mean though. There's loads of stuff in here. I really need to see it in the flesh. Been hoping for a Tyler Stout for a while now. Ever since I saw his Lebowski poster.

Dennis said...

Not sure if this has been posted here yet, but Gallery 1988 has a list of all the artwork with names, artists, and prices here:

http://lostundergroundartshow.blogspot.com/

Callie said...

Jeffrey, does that take any longer than entering a name and password? If not, then that'd be awesome!

I'm trying to do what I can in advance, so I've just signed up on another Go Merch site. I put something in my cart, then went to a different Go Merch site, and I could still see the item in my cart from the other site. I'm hoping it'll carry over to DCaaPB as well. Has anyone had any luck using their existing Go Merch account there? Or is it completely separate?

Ginger said...

Thanks Dennis!

And what scene is that above Richard's head? Still don't think that looks like Richard...

Unknown said...

Thanks Zort70, it threw me off with the blue suit ,being that there is some yellow in the rest of the print

Unknown said...

Calliejo25, they are separate sites the regular gomerch wont work, sorry

Well, i can tell already it is not going to be a productive day at work... I am really hoping that this will be my first poster, as it is also the last! Still kicking myself for not buying any of the early reveals seeing as I was following the reveal of each one... I think many of us would have played it differently before the ebayer's got involved...

Martyn said...

lol @Lisa.

Yeah, no idea how i'm still awake right now, was so excited after codysmom put Hawaii in to my head, I couldn't sleep and ended up only getting three hours sleep before and 8 hour shift at work. A can of red bull and relentless saw me through the day but now i'm home, i'm literally dead on my feet. So you may see the F5 key imprinted on my head in a second!

But last night was totally worth it!

adam_keller said...

Callie... I dont think the regular Go Merch account works. Call them. Ask for someone in charge of the LOST poster account series. Have them change your password. I had to do that. They'll change it. They'll tell you what it is. But there is no way to check it out. You'll have to trust them

BriGuy0102 said...

if there is any chance that anyone can be a poster buddy for me, please email me at pfbtm0102 at hotmail dot com. I'll be at work in an hour until midnight (EST) which pretty much guarantees that i'll miss it. If anyone can help out, maybe someone who got it at the show last night, i would appreciate it beyond words

ChrisL said...

Dennis, thanks for that link. Stuff there I'd not yet seen. The painted statues are amazing.

Dennis: Thanks for that link! Awesome that some have been sold! Interesting choices there! LOL

You line cutters should be ashamed of yourselves.

Unknown said...

Callie, it may take a little bit longer, but all that matters is whether or not you get a site error really. it took me a while to enter in all my info for the Ben one, but i just didnt get any 404 errors

Martyn said...

I so want Memento Mori, is the only one I feel is truly worth the amount of money they are asking for! Desktop wallpaper will work just as well though.

Well...

We pay 70$ for a POSTER.. in 300 copies..

These prices are not so prohibitive :p

Kelly said...

Great link Dennis - thanks! It's funny to see some of them and realize how much you would have rather had them then a few that were released as posters... I will definitely be interested to see whether some of them go on a limited run like some people think they will.

and the F5 madness continues...

And mistersh0w, if you still want the lotto ticket after last nights mayhem, send your shipping address to the same email account!

I like this poster as a LOST poster. Not going to buy it tbh, I like the ones where people have to ask you what it's about. So going to see a man about a dog. I mean walt's kidnapping.

maven said...

@Joey: Great pictures/great memories!

reAnimated said...

Yeah good pics Joey.

mrtibbs said...

If I miss this I'm willing to trade for walt's kidnapping

Martyn said...

Sorry, may of missed this but is Carlton's Polar Beer t-shirt actually his, or did someone give it him to wear?

Really hope it's the former!

Eugene said...

Martyn, I like the ones that are less obvious as well. I was not even going to get the Crash but decided to at the last minute. I do really love it.

I had a long conversation with the Framer over Rousseau's Transmission.

ytimetravel said...

The ODI has some clues about this poster if you want to be clued in and possibly spoiled.

Kelly said...

Eugene - I am trying to figure out best way to conquer framing of Transmission - what did your framer say?

maven said...

I'm not sure I want to know the S6 clue now! It definitely might be considered a spoiler.

Amy Lynn said...

While we're waiting, just noticed this tee is on sale... $10

http://typetees.threadless.com/product/2082/F5_can_be_so_refreshing

Martyn said...

mr tibbs, why must you say that? Now I have to try and buy it! Damn it!!!

Eugene said...

Kelly,

I had it framed in a plain black frame with 3 mats. The inner most one is sort of a creamy color. Then next mat is black and only a thin line shows. The outer mat is a grey-green color. So the 2 colored mats pick up the mountains and the black echoes the thin black border that McCarty put on the print as well as the black frame. It's pretty big. The conversation was about the poster itself. She was very curious about it and had no idea it had anything to do with Lost.

Martyn said...

lol, AMy Lynn!

Kelly said...

HAHAH Amy Lynn - that's awesome!!!! Great find!

mrtibbs said...

Sorry Martyn! If I manage to get one then you've got first dibs on walt!

Kelly said...

Thanks Eugene - I was wondering about mats and those are great ideas! I brought mine to a place to get framed, but despite the framers being Lost fans and thinking the prints were cool, I was not too impressed with their ideas so I am looking for other ones.

Eugene said...

I'm already tired of F5ing today. Actually, I'm just tired. I hope this does not turn into a last night. I'm game but it's going to be rough tomorrow.

reAnimated said...

Ha great shirt! I just got this one from Threadless

Eugene said...

The more mats the more $$ though. But the posters really look nice. The big bucks show. I have only had one done. Some day I hope to get them all done.

I've been "Apple -R ing" (that's mac for F5) for nearly 13 hours now! COME ON DAMN YOU!!!!!

Nicole said...

I don't know if I can make it til 4am. I really hope we find out more soon.

chaseter said...

Zort, there is no way to reconcile this with Lotto and Mib. You may think that my story may not be 100% true but too many people can back me up.

Ask Lotto herself. Was she there all night? No. Did she stand in line for 20 hours and spend the night on the street? No. So, did she deserve to be written in in front of the people that were already there? No. Is that fair? Mib did the same thing.

Remember when I said Karma was a bitch. Guess who was talking outside of my hotel room at 7 am this morning? LOTTO! She was whining about me and how she didn't understand and Mel and Milo backed her up. I am apparently wrong. I am apparently wrong for being mad that I stayed out there for 17+ hours, was the 10th in line, spent the night, and wasted $80 on a hotel room I didn't get to sleep in that night when she can show up a few minutes before swag and somehow be in the top 10.

Her and Mib's name were written in on the list because Comixguru thought they deserved to be there. Hypocrits.

The only way Lotto and Mib can make up for what they did is to give their swag to Bygnerd and myself. That is the only fair thing to do. If not, they need to quit whining, grow up, and realize what they did was wrong.

Right now it's 1:10 pacific time. Unless we can't trust that. It's sad that's why this line cutting is bad. It ruins trust. It's written in pencil. Did they do that to throw us off so they can get the real ones????

ChrisL said...

Steven. It appears that is no longer possible. Email tyson is your best bet.

The weird thing is with the last poster reveal it did work. For 5 mintues before the release I was able to get in and check my Ben Linus status. I quickly logged out because someone told me if I was logged in it would give me an error when the poster was released.

Limbofunk said...

@imannie He supposedly said sometime after 9 PM, not 9PM directly.

Jesse! Rikkitik said...

So...I guess we're not going to hear anything from the bookmark folks? They gone underground?

Amy Lynn said...

We don't even know who GOT bookmarks.

Jesse! Rikkitik said...

That just seems kinda crazy. I mean...these people are pretty obsessed as it is right? And they just kinded "eh'ed" when the time of the last poster started being discussed?

Eugene said...

I've never even seen the front of the bookmarks. I assume they were the same from the UofA reveal.

Matt said...

Where did Paul Scheer post "soon"?

Unknown said...

I think that's because they know when it is and they are keeping it secret. Just keep hitting F5 if you really want it.

DvdBos said...

on his official site! paulscheer.com if i remember well..

Tess315 said...

Thanks for the link Dennis.

brightgreenpupil said...

Whoops! 16:23 or "4:23PM PT" is in three hours

I got confused with my EST over here, lol

That means 15:16 or "3:16 PM PT" is still possible, hmmmmm

DvdBos said...

I don't think they are hiding the timing, but i still think that there is something we don't know.

Unknown said...

For those questioning the bookmarks, here's what I wrote elsewhere when some of the same questions popped up:

As for the bookmark clues, I was there when Jensen was handing things out. He and another woman had a bag of random stuff (leftover Ron Herman bags, gelaskins, ping pong balls, bookmarks, etc). He gave me a gelaskin (which I gave to someone who had never gone to a reveal - I already had my own Ron Herman bag from the RH reveal so I decided to spread the love), and then the last thing leftover at the bottom of the bag was a ping pong ball and he said "you take this" as he gave it to me. I looked at it, but nothing was on it (and I ended up giving it to someone else who said he really wanted a ping pong ball - again, spreading the love). Anyway, as he walked away, he said "pay attention to the bookmarks". So everyone with bookmarks got together and started calculating the numbers written on the backs, and then someone else went around to see if anyone who walked away was holding a bookmark. As far as we know, everyone who got a bookmark from Jensen was together. The only other thing was that Maven was given a Ron Herman bag, and inside it was written a little clue about Wed PM PT. What may have happened is that everyone was so focused on bookmarks that they didn't look at other items, but that's because Jensen said to pay attention to the bookmarks specifically. Or, someone walked away with a bookmark and just didn't realize. But the group did make a good effort in trying to figure it all out and to keep the bookmarks together. The front of the bookmarks were just the regular bookmarks, as far as I could tell.

Hope this helps,
whmscl

Unknown said...

anyone else think this is priced high? Isn't tyler's other stuff like this around 30-40?

HenryGaleWasHere said...

OK, how about this for a conspiracy theory to keep busy for awhile...

So the #s on the backs of the bookmarks look like different handwriting, at least on "+235". The rest all look similar. So remove that one, factor in the "-600" that might be missing, and you get 917. Added with Wed PM PT and the "after 9pm" thing... hmmmm...

Amy Lynn said...

Where does this 9pm thing come from? Jensen never said anything like that. He said 1152 was close.

Ophendor said...

Well I just paid $80 for a regular edition and $100 for a variant yesterday, so no $70 is a pretty reasonable price.

HenryGaleWasHere said...

I recently paid like $50 bucks for a reproduction of the hatch painting, it's a poster, not a screenprint. I have 3 posters and the quality is AMAZING, worth MUCH more than the $50 we all paid, I think this particular one is $70 only because of the size, but this kind of art is well worth over $150 anywhere else if you ask me.

ChrisL said...

DeAnne, Thank you for that. Input much appreciated.

70-dollars is a bit pricey for a first sale Tyler Stout poster

Then again, $50 is a bit pricey for all the others too.

I just quickly skimmed the comments...
I'm hoping this is a late night sale because I won't be available until after 9pm Central :(

@Martyn,
that's awesome! I'm going to be there too :D

Amy Lynn, I'm guessing you're trying to throw people off, to me this is THE poster, and I own Locke, Jacob's Cabin and BenLinus

In the end, I suppose art and beauty is in the eye of the beholder

@vabauer, yeah, beholder. I just don't like this one.

Guys, calm down. :)

Zort, I did say not so secret. I've known about it for quite awhile, I didn't expect I was the only one :)

This print is like Crash, only way better

vabauer - you are right, some posters appeal to different people for different reasons.

This one will clearly fetch as much or more than The Crash...come on guys, let's be realistic. It's huge, it's a famous screenprinter, and it's the last one that's been built up the whole time. It's quintessential LOST.

This one will be worth something more than the average poster.

TURN ON THE FLIPPING BUY NOW

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So I just really splurged big time! But I couldn't be more excited!!! Since I didn't go, I talked my wife into this little doozy from the show last night!

ImAnnie/Davide/Italy - I think the tension of waiting is getting to people a little bit.

The only other print I have is the Crash. I think this is the only one better than it. I'd be much more confident in going to sleep if had a poster buddy. Would anyone be kind enough to volunteer?

Regarding the time of the poster availability...

The bag with the writing on it went right out of the hands of the ABC rep, into Maven's hands. I was standing right next to her when she discovered it, and immediately took a picture. No foul play there.

The bookmark thing was definitely a cluster. They were handed out, and people immediately started wandering about. I asked several times if anyone had gone up and down the line to confirm that we had all the bookmarks... because I knew that missing just one bookmark would wreck the time. I was told that, "yeah, we checked"... but an hour later, someone came up to me with the bookmark with "-600" on it. I knew at that point that there was no way to be sure we were accurate, as the odds of someone else doing the same thing were pretty good.

I read somewhere that Jensen said that the reveal would be after 9pm pacific time today. I have no idea if that is accurate or not, as I haven't seen any other postings that confirm that. If we do believe that it's accurate, and if you factor in Paul Scheer's comment that 11:52pm wasn't too far off... I think that John's comment from earlier might be accurate.

Oceanic 815 was supposed to land in L.A. at 10:42pm. L.A. is in the pacific time zone, and we know the reveal is supposed to be sometime between 9pm and midnight tonight. If Season 6 is about a timeline reboot, and 815 lands in L.A. at 10:42pm... it would be a nice symmetry, don't you think?

I like this better than The Crash, The Crash (although I loved the colors) had too much Jack & Kate for my tastes, while this one incorporates the entire cast amongst other things.

It's nonsense to stard yelling to each other, now.

At least, let's wait another 6-7 hours :D

Zort and Amy and everyone, I just realized this is just what has made this whole 3 month adventure so great, it's all about what people like and dislike, I didn't initially like the Hatch and now I wish I had gone for it

Since this is all about to end, I just want to say I had a great time with everyone here, THANKS to everyone that attended and reported back, it was exciting and kept us ready for Season 6, I hope that some can attend ComicCon and we can do a Lostargs reunion, that would be really cool

It's been a pleasure, hard at times, but a pleasure :-)
