Frame 12 Clue 3 - 7 X 7 Miles Big 303

The third clue for the 12th frame is posted :

It seems that San Francisco is only 7x7 Miles Big according to this blog

Eugene has also told us about the 49 Mile Scenic Drive in San Francisco and also the website www.7x7.com

Reanimated has found this quote - "The name is pronounced "seven-by-seven" and is derived from the approximate seven miles square making up the City and County of San Francisco."

Justin has sent a map of the 49 Mile Drive and this section shows that it passes right by the Super 7 store.

So, neither St. Pete or SF are 7 x 7 miles.

Eugene said...

And thanks to Zort for being the first to let us know!

Amy Lynn said...

Oh, yeah, wahoo, Zort, Tyson loves you!

Ellen said...

How odd. I just came home and checked the site, and the 7 X 7 change was below the previous clue. Now it's above. How the heck did that happen?

Zort70 said...

Have a look at http://www.noearstohear.com/productslink.html

where it says

Is God real ? Does He exist ? Is JESUS real ? YES !!!!! IS A SIGN IN THE CRUST OF THE EARTH 7X7 MILES BIG

Zort70 said...

Also this

http://kklostonpurpose.blogspot.com/2009/03/san-fran-remembering-90s_29.html

BTW-San Fran is only like 7x7 miles big...it's like a really small city, but it's so rich, so full, so damn fun!

Amy Lynn said...

Zort, that's um, interesting.

Also interesting that Clue #1 is gone.

Justin said...

interesting clue...not sure what it means...

the original "7" clue is gone now too

Eugene said...

SF has a scenic drive called the 49 mile drive.

Amy Lynn said...

Area: 46.7 SQ MI (121 km2)

reAnimated said...

Id say that points to SF pretty clearly so far? Thoughts?

Attorney Greg said...

Quickest new clue post ever.

Justin said...

could 7 x 7 be referring to the 49ers maybe??

reAnimated said...

Heres a link to SF Insider Website:

http://www.7x7.com/

Also, SFrans football team is the 49ers. (7x7=49)

Amy Lynn said...

Apparently the 49 mile road leads right up to the Super7 store.

I feel bad now for all the St.Pete Losties who were gearing up. :(

I Love San Fran, my friend from the uk moved out there a few years back. I think Amoeba Records is the best shop ever been in in my life!!

thorsten said...

So I guess it was the other 50, Zort.

Ellen said...

San Francisco it is (IMHO). What an interesting clue! I wish I could take off right now and head to SF, my favorite city in the US!

LOSTnSC said...

Saves me the worry of work/driving to Florida I guess. But I was hoping to see something close by...On a happier note, at least I get focused shot at the poster. ;)

Amy Lynn said...

Ellen, mine too.

Again, here are the SF store hours:

HOURS
Tues - Thur 12 - 7 pm
Friday 12 - 8:30 pm
Saturday 11 - 8:30 pm
Sunday 11 - 7 pm

mrtibbs said...

Of course the 7 x 7 could mean that there's two reveals like someone who made the enquiry at the St. Pete store said. That is kind of super

LOSTnSC said...

Should have been "...a focused shot..."

Zort70 said...

So all change then, disappointment for Florida residents, happier news for California / San Francisco residents.

Justin said...

Since the clue doesn't have the time and location yet, you guys think this means Friday reveal??

If it's Friday and in San Fran, my buddy AngryRob will totally go down there and report in for us.

reAnimated said...

So, if the city is nailed down today, should we expect time to come tomorrow, and reveal to be Friday?

reAnimated said...

@Justin - great minds think alike :)

Ellen said...

Or else Saturday, the 7th, at 7.

Unknown said...

nice job guys. I'm hoping the reveal is Friday. Has there ever been a Saturday reveal before?

Zort70 said...

I would say the date and time will appear tomorrow and that store opening time would be likely.

reAnimated said...

@ Ellen - I like that idea. Wed all be sure to get lucky on getting a print that way. ;)

jeremy said...

Well...I guess this means my newly established twitter account is going to be receiving a flood of new followers.

=0p

I just hope I can live up to the challenge!

slightlyaddicted said...

Justin, I was just thinking the same thing... no time/ location yet means it most likely will not be a Thursday reveal

Zort70 said...

At leat I get to go to a Bonfire / Fireworks party tomorrow without too much panic :-)

Amy Lynn said...

I'm thinking Friday afternoon reveal. That'll be 3pm on the East Coast, 8pm in London.

Eugene said...

I think Friday when the SF store opens as well. Note to self...cancel Friday PM meetings.

Zort70 said...

8pm in the UK is perfect for me, I don't have to pretend I'm doing work :-)

Justin said...

the 49 mile scenic drive passes right by the super7 store.

dusty said...

Ugh - was posting some stuff up on the old post site.. haha..

DANGIT - was really hoping for a FL reveal. Any hope left for a dual coast?

dusty said...

Justin just nailed it...

thorsten said...

No, dusty, it was a 50/50 chance…

LOSTnSC said...

@Zort, *Snicker*, yeah and at 3pm here, I will!

MJCarp said...

jeremy, need that tweet name. asap

Justin said...

BTW, the super7 store is roughly where the "N" is in "JAPANTOWN" (by the number 3) in that last map I posted

Ellen said...

Day and time don't matter to me, cause I'll never be quick enough! So I'm enjoying being in on the final or next-to final clue!

dusty said...

No, no hope left for dual reveal? (I don't think there is given Justin's latest) Never suggested otherwise on the odds...

Justin said...

what puzzles me is that the San Fran Super7 store seemed to genuinely not know what I was talking about when i called them and asked about it, where as the FL store guy seems to know about it but dances around saying anything concrete...totally made me think it was a FL reveal.

reAnimated said...

@Justin, SF prob obeyed the rules and were mum about the issue. Maybe FL were just hopeful.

Zort70 said...

Justin, that's a very large map, I'm just downl;oading it now and I'll try and put a picture of the relevant bit on the front page.

jeremy said...

@busparking

if your twitter name is different than here you'll need to email me busparking [at] gmail

dusty said...

Definitely wasn't just hopeful in relaying the message of the FL store owner. They were aware, quote, "Super7, you're on the right track." He just danced about the location - said they weren't "sure yet" which store the reveal would be at.

Justin said...

yeah sorry for the size Zort...i didn't create the map, just found it online :)

Zort70 said...

No problem, I've just got quite a slow connection.

It's probably why I'm never first to purchase.

comixguru said...

Jeremy- I couldn't find @busparking on twitter... i'm @comixguru

thorsten said...

@Justin…

Scott Dias wrote today:
'However, If I had to venture a guess as to what the odds are that we will have the reveal in our store, I would say 50/50.'

50FL/50CA, it seems.

Martyn said...

8pm??? Fantastic! There was me thinking i'd have to rely on my girlfriend to buy me it but luckily i'll be home in time for that on friday no problem!

Apologies to the Floridians who were ready for this, I thought it was too but alas, it works out better for me purely because of the time difference.

Right, off to print my LOST canvas for my girlfriend.

Wish me luck!

jeremy said...

@comixguru - i just requested to follow you

hope that helps!

thorsten said...

Good Luck, Martyn!

MJCarp said...

jeremy you are now on the frame-12 list for reveal

jopinionated has tweeted that she will follow and if possible attend!

anyone else?

Zort70 said...

Thanks Justin, I've updated it on the main post.

Amy Lynn said...

how do you get on the frame 12 list?

CL said...

You know for as much chatter as we've given to S7SP, we might be unwittingly helping the SP store get in on the action.

Assuming there's a dual reveal (which I don't think is likely now), I'd be interested to see if there are more people at the SP location than the SF location.

Of course, I'm biased, but I'll be a little more than agitated if SP gets left out of the mix entirely.

Ellen said...

I have the same question that Amy has. I'm on other lists, but how do you get on the frame-12 list?

thorsten said...

I was not even on Jacobs list!

Tess315 said...

Sorry to the Florida fans.
If it's going to be Friday reveal a West coast reveal is better for me. I should be home Friday afternoon.

Hi Jeremy- have asked to follow you under Jst_Thinking- kept that name from the LP arg thread. Thanks.

maven said...

Sorry to the Florida people! As a Californian...I would love to spread the reveals around more! Not many left!

Ellen said...

I'll be back later. :)

Zort70 said...

Bye for now Ellen

jeremy said...

I just want to point out that SF is right about 400 miles from LA.
That's about the same as the distance from Baltimore, MD to Columbus, OH.

Zort70 said...

Sort of like going to Glasgow instead of London.

ObFuSc8 said...

Just popped in to take a peek...hmmm SF Super7...OK I guess. Nothing against Cali, but TYSON there are other states itching for a local reveal. At the very least make this one bicoastal!

So it looks like we're thinking Friday for this one? I guess they could do tomorrow, but they'd have to get the time/place up fast. Anyone think hey were watching these boards and chose SF because of our posts on the St. Pete's store? Had briefly though of flying out, just for a reveal, but I think I'll just wait patiently at my laptop.

Thanks all.

Slumpbustr said...

@ObFuSc8

I think, unfortunately, it's more likely that they had planned san fran from the get go. Even though I live in Los Angeles, I do agree they should try and spread these things out some more.

Zort70 said...

ObFuSc8, I'd love to think that us fans had that much power over Tyson, but I suspect that the sites have been chosen well in advance.

dusty said...

On a side note, does anyone have the feeling that Walt's Kidnapping will be more impressive in person? Similar to The Hatch? I think it has the potential to be stunning - can't wait to see the feedback of those that got in...

Congrats to the SF'ers on the reveal. I missed the Tucson reveal because I wasn't following the posters yet, so I don't think I'll get another chance here in AZ.

comixguru and jeremy, requested to add you both on twitter. I'm @tm_long

Scoutpost said...

jeremy- I just sent you a request to follow on twitter. thanks.

Glad you all are here to pay attention. I've got a terrible cold and have been sick in bed the past couple of days. So I haven't really read up on all comments, just followed the front page and DCAAPB.

And to think I was there in San Fran just a few weeks ago. Love that city! Have fun you guys.

I saw that jeremy is in San Fran and that Jo might be going. Anyone else I need to follow on twitter? Sorry if it's all been mentioned. I'll check back with you guys later. :)

Capcom said...

Feel better soon Scoutpost!

I won't be home Friday night, so if the poster goes up I'll be SOL. Hope it's not something that I'd like. Not that my fingers would be fast enough to beat everyone vying for the first purchaser prize and sellout anyway.

The SanFrancisco 1988 gallery is in the next street!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I think everyone is bailing out pretty quickly on the idea of a dual site reveal. In addition to the obvious 7x7 San Fran reference, the two sevens could represent the two stores at different sites. And it is certainly not unprecedented given DCaaPB history. This may be optimistic but hope springs eternal that the historically narrow and California-centric vision of the United States can be corrected.

Capcom said...

I'm surprised also that TPTB are keeping this ARG-y thing close to home. Compared to the previous global activites (Apollo bars everywhere and the search for the Oceanic billboards around the world) this one is keeping tight for the most part. Might be due to keeping costs down. ??

Mappy said...

I am thoroughly impressed at how quick you guys come up with these clues. I'd never get a darn thing if it weren't for you all and your sleuthing skills, so thanks!!!

MJCarp said...

Hi all.

Scoutpost, hope you are feeling better tonight.

I go dark in 6 hours (CST) and stay that way until sometime Thursday after (MT). So you bet I'm praying to Tyson for a Friday noon reveal. This will be a nail biter. Good luck to all. Chatter in the chat room as usual.

Zort70, didn't you like my photos? I have one more that I didn't send title "Oh, Lord!"

I've accepted new twitter followers that have requested from here. Welcome aboard!

congested is audiblylost (i think)

and comixguru is just comixguru (CG, for short it seems) :)

I am going to guess that they would do a dual reveal.

I'm guessing the next clue will be something along the lines of

Super7SF x Super7FL

with date/time/addresses

If anyone going can pick up an extra goodie- i would gladly pay for shipping to me in Los Angeles... :)

Jesse! Rikkitik said...

Can we hope for, like, a 2 url 2 poster reveal? I mean, chaotic as it would be...that would be pretty cool...

Hey all I've been following the ARG from the beginning, but just discovered this wonderful place this week. What's the best way to receive the reveal? I am always late finding the links. I would be grateful for any help.

I was hoping for the St. Pete reveal too. My friend and old college roommate lives there... unfortunately that's out.

ObFuSc8 said...

From a web based WiFi finder:

This one's right across Post Street to the southeast (looks like it's in what's labeled as Japan Center Shopping Center):
Radisson Miyako Hotel San Francisco
1625 Post St

Closest Starbucks:
1501 Fillmore Street

Browser Books
2225 Fillmore Street

There's also a branch of the San Francisco public Library, but it's west on Geary, and it might take too long to relocate there before the poster goes BUY NOW.

Sandman, neither V nor FF even compares to LOST. Now the excitement of the V i remember form 1983, that was closer, but last nigh -- not so much. Suspense wasn't the same. Probably partly because we know part of the plotline. I won't say too uch more in case there are folks who have yet to watch the premiere.

Capcom - verily, verily. Alias is what started it all for me and is the only show in recent years (is 2001-06 recent?)aside from BSG that really kept me coming back for more. And I knew that JJ was gold after he wrote Joy Ride.

maven said...

Agreed, Capcom: I'm trying desperately to find something that will take the place of LOST for me. After all, we have to face the reality, don't we? I don't think there will ever be a series like LOST again. I have never been so involved in a show or had such a special time on-line with other fans.

Fringe and FlashFoward are interesting and have potential, but LOST's shoes are pretty big to fill.

JT said...

I think another good mystery could do it. Hard to get one vision to carry the story from one riddle to another though. You need a Rowling or Darlton.

Anonymous said...

I hope we can get another show or two from Damon before the machine pulls him in fifty directions, forcing him to abandon ongoing quality creative programming.

Jesse! Rikkitik said...

Sandman, an evening US reveal would be GREAT! I almost missed the hatch in between school and driving to work...I had my girlfriend on the phone, at home, f5ing here for the URL that coupled with the 4am Kidnapping...these posters are freaking me out! (in a good frank zappa way...)

justanothersky said...

@ scoutpost: Hope you get better soon!

@ Jeremy: Just sent you a request too. Thanks.

@ Jesse!Rikkitik: Hey good to see you here! :)

And yeah, I agree with Maven that LOST's shoes are pretty big to fill. Before LOST, the only other series I was really into was The X-Files. Probably a much more hard-core fan back then than now with LOST-- not because of getting more rational but just getting old lol.
Even though the last few seasons of X-files were unbearable to watch but I still watched religiously every week. Bought all the DVDs (some at unbelievable high prices as that's the beginning of DVDs), books, whatever. Can recite all the titles, storyline, guest characters' names... & lots of minute details.

I had once thought there won't be any other series that I could be so passionate about. I had thought Alias would be it, but wasn't. Then came LOST, and as they say the rest is history.
So yeah keep the hope alive then miracle will happen. (What am I saying...?) Huh anyway, you all know what I mean lol. :)

Hi Jo, I am quite sure it will be Friday…

Zort70 said...

Hi Jo, although nothing is confirmed yet, past experience leads us to believe that it will be tomorrow.

Unknown said...

@anonymous Thanks! I'd love to become tweet friends with people for this and for general LOST fun. I'd also like to help out, for the last few reveals.

@JT I almost fell for the trap. I was going to say Alex on the assumption that he had raised her as a daughter. However if I need to prove myself, Ben stole Alex from Danielle with the help of young Ethan. Ben raised Alex after refusing to follow Charles orders. Later, after Alex is killed by Keme in season 4, we see her again as the smoke monster when Ben enters the temple for his judgement, if you will.

I meant no sarcasm or ill will in this post. I just don't want to be seen as a poster resaler.

Unknown said...

@Ben Ritter I agree Carnivale was an incredible show, and only became stronger with each episode.

The problem I feel is nothing currently on air has the mythos and generally story telling quality of LOST. FF has a neat premise, but terrible written characters with no dynamic whatsoever. I feel V has potential, and that show has had lots of problems. Time will tell.

But lost is the only type of show that interweaves all the seasons together. Most shows answer everything that was brought up in a particular season at the end of THAT season, where as lost sows the seeds at the begining and let's it grow over the next couple of seasons.

Martyn, That's exactly what I was trying to convey, but couldn't find the words! Thanks. So very few shows that have used the multi season arc.

I've only seen the premiere for Dexter this season but it was brilliant.

Good morning! It think it would be wonderful if our reveal had a big bang to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day. What could be better than alcohol, fire, and frantic F5 pushing?

Flashforward and Fringe aren't enough to satisfy my LOST fix so I've been watching the X Files and The Prisoner. I picked up the Prisoner recommendation here a few days ago. Thanks to you all!

Casey, yes I think we will get it at the same time as the other clues were posted, ready for tomorrow.

Tabula Rasa I've been meaning to watch the X-files from start to finish. I was a kid when it was airing and it scared me to death, in a good way. I'd love to pick the Prisoner up on blu ray.

Zort70, fantastic!

Dexter 4 comes along nicely, even with three kids ;))

My Favorite is still Mad Men, absolutely love it.

Thought the V-Pilot okay, but there was pretty much revealed already for my taste…

Do not watch FF, guess it will go the same way all shows go were Brannon Braga is involved.

Thorsten, Mad Men is easily IMO the most polished and well written show on currently. I'm not a huge fan, but I respect it because it's so well done.

Agreed to both Dexter and Mad Men. Very much looking forward to the season finale of MM this weekend. Also, John Lithgow's TK is easily the best bad guy ever on Dexter. The writing seems a lot better this season, too.

Kelly said...

Definitely concur re: Mad Men. It captures everything so perfectly that I wish I could be a part of it all. @ Amy Lynn - finale will be unreal for sure. Don's past catching up with him...

O/T

I guess what's fascinating for me about Mad Men is that this was really my boyfriend's childhood. He had just turned 14 when Kennedy was assassinated. Because I wasn't born yet, it gives me a lot of insight to a world that has only been described to me before. Like, how many times have we all seen the clips of Cronkite, right? But on Mad Men, most of the characters were watching the Huntley/Brinkley broadcast, which is truer to actual life.

Computer for Dummies 101 - where do you download check4change for windows? I have xp but when I tried this morning to "run" it didn't recognize the file/program/publisher, something of that sort. Is it on the Microsoft website or is there an easier way?

Side note - I like Fringe, good characters/acting; FF is okay, decent story/idea but acting, especially by the main guy Mark, is bad.

I second the Dexter feelings. To throw a curveball in there, how about Modern Family as a comedy? About as well written of a show as I've seen in a while. Good morning all! --Still holding hope for a dual coast reveal.

Thank you JO for the twitter info and going.

Sorry about that Casey- would have even accepted Alex-figured a nonwatcher wouldn't even know that much. Getting a little paranoid- fellow on chat the other day only had questions on how to get posters and admitted it was an "opportunity" he might not want to miss.

Modern Family is hands down the best new comedy, Dusty. Great call. I haven't laughed that hard at a show in a while.

Do we have a Twitter list of people going to the reveal yet? I'll check the chat when it's time for the reveal. :D

Frank, Lottery ticket has a Twitter List of all the suspects.

JT, no problem whatsoever. I thought it was amusing to be interrogated about LOST.

It's a shame really that people are using this as a business opportunity. I guess we shouldn't be surprised.

I'm confused about this twitter stuff. Who do I need to follow?

You can follow LT's list:

I like modern family but I guess I set myself up for disappointment because when I watched the trailers for it, I thought it was going to be the new arrested development but it doesn't feel like it. Yet. Still, one of the best comedies around.

And john lithgow as the TK is absolutely fantastic. A really fleshed out character, really looking forward to the last 6 episodes. I've been waiting for a season that matches season one which is still my favourite but this definitely is coming second. It feels like the writers have come to grips with cliff hangers.

Mad men I haven't tried but will add it to my rental list. I fear I won't get it though, just like I didn't get the office.

Morning to all. Sucks that i missed the reveal last week but, I have been pretty lucky so far. Any speculation as to the artist this week?
