Frame 13 Clue 1 - Who Is In The Spotlight ? 273

Will this be an unlucky frame ?

The name Janet Weiss Louise could refer the films Rocky Horror Picture Show and Thelma and Louise, or at least Susan Sarandon who played Janet Weiss and Louise.

Thanks to Martyn for being the first to let us know.

Can't find her on google but i'm doing it quickly before work. Hopefully, someone else will crack it by the time I take my lunch.

thorsten said...

Rocky Horror!

Zort70 said...

Thelma and Louise + Rocky Horror.

It is Susan Sarandon

Zort70 said...

A nice easy clue for Monday morning, but where will it lead us ?

Martyn said...

Ahhh...

Two films i've never seen. That'd explain it then. Thought I was going to end up looking dumb and I was right!

Right, off to work I go!

mungonna said...

yea..the spotlite is on Susan Sarandon. Maybe shes up to something soon.

Zort70 said...

Sounds plausible but where does Louise fit in ?

thorsten said...

I hoped for a song called Louise by her…

thorsten said...

So, who will call Susans publicist and check on her dates next week?

Zort70 said...

I'm not sure I have her current number, she changed it after all the phone calls.

thorsten said...

I know somebody who went to school with her daughter, maybe that helps…

thorsten said...

plus, it can point to an NYC reveal…

Zort70 said...

Please expand for the benefit of the hard of understanding.

thorsten said...

Sarandon and Robbins still live in New York… she is in the jury of the Tribeca Film Festival as well as the New York City childrens film festival, so maybe there is a public appearance scheduled this week…

Justin said...

the spotlight in the clue might be something too. Is Susan Sarandon doing anything on stage this week?

Justin said...

Looks like Susan was in New York last night for a screening of Bad Lieutenant 2 and is shooting Wall Street 2 in NY as well. I agree with thorsten that it's looking like a NY reveal.

Ok, New York it is !

Also looks like a reveal first thing in the morning Eastern US time.

Probably on Friday as well.

Justin said...

Sorry for all the posts...I should've gathered everything first and consolidated.

Anyways, the style network is showing Thelma and Louise this tues and Wed and E! is showing it on Mon and Tues, but unfortunately I don't think Rocky Horror is airing anywhere this week...

Do abc have a chat show she could be appearing on to plug something?

Zort70 said...

Good thought mrtibbs.

I think we are definitely looking for an event of some sort.

mrtibbs said...

The Lovely Bones is a film she's appearing in soon, so maybe a premier event?

or at least plugging it?

11th Dec release for Lovely Bones... Might be a couple of weeks early for a premier relating to that.

Sandman90 said...

Good morning. Agree with New York potential. Met Susan Sarandon once at the MOMA in Manhattan. Very nice lady, for what it's worth.

Stew said...

She owns a ping pong bar in manhattan called spin, maybe there?

mrtibbs said...

It is Friday the 13th this week, if that relates to anything. Who got the first print and the clue this week. Someone outside this community?

Just saw this about Lovely Bones -

Peter Jackson’s highly anticipated “The Lovely Bones” will have its world premiere as the Royal Film Performance 2009 at Leicester Square in London late next month.

Zort70 said...

Friday the 13th for the 13th poster ?

Maybe it'll be a really scary one.

Sandman90 said...

I'd bet on some sort of live performance or show given the spotlight and NYC connection.

Maybe she is on Good Morning America next Friday…

I know it's not very likely but could it be The View? lol
I saw a number of promos for LOST on that show in the past.
(And Whoopi Goldberg said she's a fan. Not sure whether just her being polite though.) Last time it was an interview with Emerson and Jorge.

And the show airs live Monday -Thursday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
Here is a link to their schedule, but usually there are more guests than listed. On Friday 13th they will have Stephen King on the show.

too funny about getting stopped by the police Zort, did they just let you go ??? lol
We do get up a bit early here at my house. Up at 5 am and then to bed early as well.

Zort70 said...

Chris - Never

Lisa - Yes they had a sense of humour that day.

Zort70 said...

justanothersky, that sounds like a good possibility.

So is Susan going to be there ?

Amy Lynn said...

I will be happy for a NYC clue.

My boyfriend is sorta friends with Chris and Susan Sarandon. When he wakes up, I'll ask him if he can find out some info for us.

babysledge said...

What a lovely good morning, waking up to a clue!

Zort70 said...

Amy Lynn - sort of friends ? Sounds intriguing

StrobeJams said...

"The View" sounds about right... but a reveal of the 13th poster on Friday the 13th would be even more awesome.

StrobeJams said...

Speaking of awesome: did goMerch really ship Jacob's Cabin that fast..? That'd be a new record wouldn't it?

Zort70 said...

Apparently Whoopie Goldberg asked Sir Ian McKellan last week what it was like to play the wizard Dumbledor :-)

Masheen, I think shipped just means they have put the address labels on and put them in a corner ready for the postal service to pick them up. When they actually go out of the door I wouldn't like to say.

Attorney Greg said...

Mine shows Walt's Kidnapping as shipped but "And that's why my hand was shaking . . . " only as Authorized.

Sam G said...

It's probably time they went back to the East Coast and Friday the 13th seems appropriate.

@Zort... my boyfriend is a professional magician, as is Chris Sarandon. They hung around the same circles in the 70s and 80s.

JT said...

I have fingers crossed for you Amy Lynn.

hobbit at work said...

If it happens, an NYC reveal means that I'm probably at work on my slow school connection, which at this point means I'm essentially shut down from even looking at the poster, let alone refreshing and getting the page back within 45 seconds.

Here's hoping the site is ready for the flood this time around. Maybe I'll have a chance that way.

I really liked the Europe reveal. It was one of the few where I was actually at home. This 9 AM to 3 PM Eastern stuff is terrible for me.

Dan said...

Morning/Afternoon/Evening, all! So nice to wake up to a clue first thing Monday morning, and further excited to see it's very possibly a NY reveal. Personally, my fingers are majorly crossed for a Thursday reveal, which I'll likely be able to attend and tweet. However, Friday is an absolute no-go for me, as Dan and Mrs. Dan are flying out early in the morning to embark on our honeymoon!

Zort70 said...

Hi Lottery Ticket, good to know you are still around, even in Lurker mode.

Amy - thanks for that, sounds very glamorous.

JT said...

Maybe magic is the connection. JJ Abrams has the unopened box of magic tricks he has saved since he was a kid.

mungonna said...

I agree..the reveal will probably be on the View or GMA..I mean what better way to make sure that those one or two billion Lost Fans who aren't aware of the LFA and its Prints,,have a fair chance at getting one...he said Sarandonically. oh boy ain't I a wit this morning? somebody shoot me...please

Amy Lynn said...

I pre-emptively "requested" guest seats for GMA for Friday. Pathetic.

Zort70 said...

tupalev said...

Thanks for the advice Zort70, I took a quick look and I could see where those were going...

Amy Lynn said...

Zort, I have a perfectly busy day at work, and now all I can think of is writing a S5 parody of Time Warp. Crud.

thorsten said...

will make a nice poster, Amy, but it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane!

mungonna said...

Zort..its really too early in the morning to be thinking Hurley as Dr Frank N Furter , isn't it?

Scoutpost said...

@Zort- oh come on! you can't tell us about your outfit and then not show us pictures!!

@mungonna- mel, glad to see your not anon anymore ;)

I like the idea of the 13th frame revealed on Friday the 13th, I bet they wouldn't pass that up.

I'm actually starting to feel a little sorry for Susan Sarandon right now...little does she know she's going to have thousands of rabid LOST fans trailing her every move for the next week. Hopefully she'll realize we're harmless and mean well. ;)

ok, I'll have to finish catchin' up later, gotta run errands. Ya'll have a very nice Monday!

RobPerrin said...

What if the cast of Lost were to remake Rocky Horror? Which roles would they play?

Elizabeth Mitchell as Janet....

Dan said...

@AmyLynn - do you think more people will show up this time vs. the few of us at the Crumbs NY reveal? I guess it would depend on whether it's done on a show or somewhere else...

Sandman90 said...

Amy Lynn, why stop at Time Warp - do the whole show. The RH S5 survival kits might have some good Dharma items included (i.e. allowing us to throw Appollo bars, etc.)

thorsten said...

Jack'N'Furter…

Amy Lynn said...

@Dan, dunno, I guess it depends on the timing.

And here's our friend's Twitter, though she doesn't seem to update much:

Zort70 said...

Richard Alpert as Riff Raff, always in the background but secretly in charge.

Ginger said...

Martyn, you're a Rocky virgin? Here is my recommendation. You can't just watch Rocky Horror. You have to go to the movie theater & see it w/everybody dressed up & performing & yelling the jokes at the people on the screen. It is so much fun! The music is fantastic! Really sticks in your head. I mentioned in comments after the Forbidden Planet clue how I couldn't get "Science Fiction-Double Feature" out of my head! Love it.

After the crumbs fiasco, and given the quick sell out times, I'm pretty certain I won't be going to another reveal if it's here in NY. It way too disappointing last time, and I don't want to miss a poster.

Also, I really hope they put this poster series on hold for the week of Thanksgiving. That would be a pain in the ass for many people with traveling/family/etc.

...and The Swan Station and Walt's Kidnapping arrived together this morning. :D

@Ginger...

It's true, I'm a rocky horror virgin. I've just never got the fascination and never thought of watching it as it's too late. I don't like pulp fiction cus I watched it too late.

I'm not sure how frequent cinema showings of it are around where I live but I'll try to look out for one though.

On other news, I really hope that Jacobs cabin arrives this week, I can't stop staring at the picture. Also, is anyone else getting grief from people for not sticking their posters on eBay? My dad gave me a dead arm when I mentioned there was a copy of Jacobs cabin on eBay going for $400.

Some people just don't get it, do they?

Dan said...

@Congested - The Crumbs NY non-reveal was very disappointing for me too. I gave up after coming back a second time, but from what it sounds like, they never ended up giving anything out at all? Lame.

Were Swan and Walt shipped in one tube? If so, did they credit you for one of the shipping charges?

Agreed on the Thanksgiving thing.

what's up everyone...

i've been lucky enough to get "love triangle" by leia bell (only because it didn't sell out until a few weeks after it was released) and "jacob's cabin" by daniel danger on friday.

not here to brag, but i'm a lurker that never contributes. however, if it is an nyc reveal, well hot dog on a stick i live in brooklyn and work in manhattan. so if it's nyc i'm definately game to attend the reveal for folks around here who don't live in the greatest city on earth.

Sleepwalkers of Ysera said...

Also... not sure if it has been mentioned or not but Susan Sarandon is the mastermind behind a hugely popular ping-pong facility called Spin in NYC. It has been in the papers quite a bit. So perhaps a big reveal at spin would be interesting.

Also interesting is that on November 10th Spin will be "closed to the public" from 6pm-9pm according to their events page.

I have problems.

On an island, time is moving
Statues house the gods
But pay attention, eighteen episodes longer
Perhaps you’ll beat the odds

I was flashing, stuck in a time trap
Struggling to stay alive
The sky would turn purple, and my nose would be bleeding
How did the Losties survive?
How did the Losties survive?

It’s just a peek at the past
And the a jump through the years
Just the clothes on your back
And what you hold appears
Ignore the flash of light, and Jack’ll count to fiiiiiiiiive
How did the Losties survive?

It’s perplexing, oh Daniel, explain it
I’ll be your constant, if you’ll be mine
On a train bound for England, Desmond Hume is arriving
Time will bend now, intertwine

What’s it done to Theresa?
Minkowski is finished
And nothing can ever live or thrive
You’re spaced out in the present, it’s not gonna be pleasant
How did the Losties survive?

Well I was standing on the beach, just a-couting the sand
Daniel’s mom just appeared and helped me understand
She said she’d shot, she said it always was
She called it Widmore’s fault, which makes sense because
He’s big and mean and so raving mad
Time means nothing when you’re Daniel’s dad
How did the Losties survive?

It’s just a peek at the past
And the a jump through the years
Just the clothes on your back
And what you hold appears
Ignore the flash of light, and Jack’ll count to fiiiiiiiiive

RUSTY'S DISCOUNT PET CENTER, STUDIO CITY
Parque Patricios, Buenos Aires, Argentina
88 Keys, Online

RON HERMAN STORE, LOS ANGELES
Forbidden Planet, Glasgow, UK
Super 7, San Francisco

If the pattern continues, the next reveal would be in the Los Angeles area.

The Nuart Theater in West LA shows the movie with a live cast on stage every Saturday at midnight.

Maybe the cast member who plays Janet will be the one who reveals the URL.

I'm late, but excited for the new clue. And yay to voting on the posters. (So close to the end).

Can I ask a really lame q? Great thanks. How can I get a picture w/ my name. Do I have to have a blog? Or can I do it in my gmail google account? And again, still excited about the clue. (Trying to be on topic).

Really like a lot of Daniel Danger's posters.

@Uncle Henry,
You took the letters right out of my mouth.

Love the song Mel!

The voting was hard for me too, The Hatch and And That's Why My Hand Was Shaking... are my two favourite prints but for some reason I love the hatch more but love staring at the cabin, because it feels so darn realistic.

Ugh, think I may change my vote. Again!

@Zort...

I didn't see a poster upside down, was definitely my eyes playing tricks on me ;)

I received "The Hatch" probably 3 weeks ago but I live in LA.

@ Amy Lynn The Crumbs on Larchmont is only a few block away from Paramount studios and maybe 15 minutes from downtown LA. It all depends on traffic but only a few miles from Beverly Hills.

Trial Attorneys, do you have the link for the photobucket image because I can't find it on there.

Cheers!

When I bought the Crash, way back when I seriously thought I bought the last one, I was close, 285.

And don't hate that I haven't looked at Transmission yet to see what number I got. I opened it, but haven't looked at the poster. I don't know why I do that. It took me a month to open The Crash. I am crazy in anticipation of them getting to my house safely, and then once I have them, I apparently am not as crazy. I feel I shouldn't be admitting this. And I need to know my Transmission number. And I need to stop typing.

FYI..received Swan today..235/300..rather striking. The wavey lines at bottom section are like the Shadow of the Statue. Light has to hit them a certain way. Neat.

I received the Swan today as well 200/300. It is beautiful.

On hold-laa,laa

That was a great summary Mel. I know Dali was kicked out- but did you ever see the Disney animated film that was finished recently that he did the storyboards for? Saw it in Florida at the Dali museum.

Don't think it will be The View- too geared to OLs- like myself.

Cute Eugene. Love it.

Wow. I finally got some good news. The boss is out of the office for the rest of the week. For once I won't get interrupted during a poster buy.

Boss: "Can you swing by my office for a few minutes?"

Me: "yeah, sure"

My internal dialogue: "Are you frakkin' kidding me?!?!"

WOOHOO!

I have to say that "And that's why my hand was shaking..." us by far the best print. It really captures the whole eeriness and mystery of Jacob's Cabin. The colors are amazing, and I'm sure it is downright beautiful in person. Then I'd have to say The Hatch (just because it is AMAZING in person) Smoke Monster and then The Crash round out my top 4. Can't say I like Locke's Secret too much, or Rousseau's Transmission for that matter. Not too disappointed I miss out those two. However, I still cry myself to sleep over not getting The Crash...I missed it by 2 minutes! Argh!

So I have been trying to get these to lay flat on poster board and foam board.

I tried plain old elmers glue on the Crash and it just soaks into the paper and makes it slip all over the poster board.

Next I tried spray on adhesive on smokey, it stuck it to the foam core board great but gets adhesive all over the place, I do not know how my hair got stuck to the front of the print.

So back to Elmers Glue stick with the Hatch, problem is, you have to press so hard that you crease the paper, but once it is stuck down the creases are barely visible.

And don't let me go into what superglue did to that Locke. Well ok, lets just say that they are one now...

Any other drymounting tips?
:P

Reverend, it's a shame you didn't video yourself doing it, I'm sure it would have been comedy gold !
