Frame 13 Clue 1 - Who Is In The Spotlight ? 273

Will this be an unlucky frame ?

The name Janet Weiss Louise could refer the films Rocky Horror Picture Show and Thelma and Louise, or at least Susan Sarandon who played Janet Weiss and Louise.

Thanks to Martyn for being the first to let us know.

it is a shame that rev milo is bring lame jokes from EB to this forum.

ReverendMilo said...

I will see if I can find the pic of me trying to iron these flat, I made a really big boo boo not using an iron with an auto-off feature...

Awww Anon. Every few weeks I update the Losties with the terrible mistakes I have made handling these prints.

Sam G said...

OMG ReverendMilo you don't want to use any of that on them. I would unroll them between paper and put some books on them for a few days and then see how flat they get. I would even ask one of the artists what they suggest.

MeSoCrazy said...

@Eugene Laugh out loud are your picture. And glad I'm not alone in my unopened tubes.

My love for Locke's Secret is just the graphic way they portrayed it. So Hitchcock style that it's so cool. Although had I been able to purchase it I don't know what I would do with it with such bold color schemes. But I would of found a way. It's my favorite. But I can make arguements on a few for being favorites, that just happens to be the one, that if I had to decide on just one, that would be it.

& not to be bothersome but if anyone could tell me how to get I can get a picture up with my sig, like so many of you, I would really appreciate it. I promise Rev Milo, I won't steal your Kitty.

ReverendMilo said...

SamG!

Where were you before I tried the iron???

found the pic
oops!

Zort70 said...

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

ReverendMilo said...

and you also see why I dont use the iphone to take pictures of these. OMG that is a baaaad pic!

Zort70 said...

Unless that is real, in which case I'm sorry for your loss.

ReverendMilo said...

LOL Zort, it is a real un-doctored picture...it's just not the real print!

ROFL

Zort70 said...

Surely not a bootleg picture ? Fake URL's, Fake pictures, I bet your not even a real Reverend !

Sam G said...

http://www.wikihow.com/Flatten-a-Rolled-Map-or-Poster

I'd still ask one of the artists

ReverendMilo said...

Sorry about the drymounting, it was just setup for the punchline. New big printer arrived and all. :)

now am I real? That is a very lostish query....

Zort70 said...

There aren't any strange ticker machine noises that appear when you talk to people are there ?

Zort70 said...

By the way the printer done good if you get a poster like that from it.

HenryGaleWasHere said...

Rev, you crack me up!

@Sam G- I asked Shepard Fairey (my FAV artist!!) and he agreed that the best way is to spray the whole back of the poster, THEN use the iron to warm up the adhesive a little bit, then stick the poster to the board for the best mount. ;)

HenryGaleWasHere said...

He also said the best way to make a print is to take someone else's photo, then use Photoshop to make it all one color (or 2 if you're feeling crazy). Print that bad boy off and it's like printing money!

Martyn said...

Thank god that isn't the real poster.

I don't even like The Crash yet I still had a heart attack when I saw that iron mark on the front.

Zort70 said...

Right, I'm off for the night, see you all bright an early tomorrow.

thorsten said...

Oh, i really like where this is going!
Got my Rousseau today, 198/200.
Will tape it with silver gaffer to the wall.
Bought black tape for my hatch, wich is awol…

Zort70 said...

By the way, before I go.

Has anyone got the Swan Station poster yet ? I could do with a couple of signature photo's for a follow up post on it.

I've got one so far, but I'm looking for others.

ReverendMilo said...

I'll try to get my shots up tonight zort

feel_the_insanity said...

Zort, I got mine today! Sadly, I live two hours away now that I'm at school. I can get some pictures to you next Friday when I go home for Thanksgiving. Also, I will definitely send pics of my framed Smoke Monster. It looks awesome.

BTW, Rev are you "drymounting" insane! That copy of The Crash is no longer worth the hundreds of dollars you could get on Ebay! Haha. EB guys are good guys, only some of them mock us. Great site actually.

CrazyBeardedJack said...

If this is Susan Sarandon related, I think Spin NYC is a good guess. It's her ping pong club in New York City.

Capcom said...

That's actually what I've been wondering FTI...if someone did eventually need/want to sell a poster as a collectible somwhere down the road, wouldn't afixing it to a backing harm the collectible value of the print?

feel_the_insanity said...

Yes, it would. Rev is just joking around because "drymounting" is a joke used over at EB. Dry mounting your poster = bad idea.

Capcom said...

I know about the joke. But some people earlier in the ARGish thing have mentioned that their framer is doing that to frame their posters, and I was concerned.

feel_the_insanity said...

Hmmm, I don't think it's such a good idea. Won't that severely damage the print? I'm no expert on framing, but I'm pretty sure my framer laid the piece flat and put the matte around it, then framed it. Though, I could be wrong.

Capcom said...

Perhaps who ever mentioned it before (around the 2nd-4th poster)was also not serious, but it sounded as if they were.

ReverendMilo said...

Zort, now that you mention it...I do seem to hear whirls, clicks, and bing noises as I work and move...

It's probably nothing though.

feel_the_insanity said...

Just read an article on dry mounting that said it is only recommended for cheap posters and stuff like that. Not recommended for anything of value.

MeSoCrazy said...

Thank you Zort.

ReverendMilo said...

Capcom, It may have been me...

Ellen said...

@Eugene, LOL - that photo was truly funny, in the context you presented it. ;) I have a room upstairs that looks like that!

@Milo -- I purchased Mylar sleeves for storing my posters until I get them framed. I believe the Mylar is heavy enough to keep them spread out flat. We'll see! Since I've had the flu, I haven't had the energy to open anything up.

MeSoCrazy said...

It is so interesting to see now that we have so many posters revealed what people really like. Jacob's Cabin is really a strong contender, and that thing sold out in less than a minute. (I seriously worry about my health if any of the next posters are a MUST HAVE for me and I can't get it. I don't even know if I can spell my name in under 30 seconds and my name is four letters.

Amy Lynn said...

MeSoCrazy, that's how I feel about Walt's Kidnapping. I can't even believe that I was awake and passed on it. I WILL have it someday.

mungonna said...

You kno..working in the aero-space industry you get to know about some adhesives that make super glue look like flour and water paste. Yea, you remember those paper mache projects in 1st grade; that stuff. I did a globe of earth thing back then. Forgot all about it. One day Mom dug it out of the cellar, right in front of my girlfriend. Why'd she do that I don't know. But I took the opportunity to do a Charlie Chaplin with it. Spinning it on my finger, hackeysackeying it and all. I was impressing my girlfriend let me tell ya. Anyway, I drop kicked it over the fence and the neighbors dog got hold of it. It was all over their yard in less than a minute. So much for earth and paper mache. Thats why I use some of this goop from the aero space industry to mount my posters. I mean.. my posters can go twice the speed of sound and still not come apart. Beat that!

There is a problem tho with this stuff. Ventilation for one. If you ain't outside, you better be wearing a scuba tank. Otherwise, you could glue your lungs shut. There you'd be,,carrying a lung around the rest of your life that ain't doing nothing for ya. The other thing is, its quick..wicked quick. You better be wearing gloves with this stuff. Its better to have a bit of glove going up with the aircraft than a bit of your finger. I don't know how many F15's are flying around with a personal touch to them, if you know what I mean. They got special scalpels down at the medical office just for the newbies. You tell'em and they just don't listen.

Any way..just a needle drop in each corner and maybe one in the center. No second chances. This ain't like Lost ya know. Thats why I use a really big backing board. Just throw the poster on there all cattywompus. Then cut the board down to the print. Works every time. Maybe thats what the Losties should have done. Just not been so specific in their damn screwing up. But then there wouldn't be any show,,and no posters,,and no story here. damn dog.

Eugene said...

Mel - priceless.

ReverendMilo said...

Me So crazy, I wont even vote for prints I havent seen in person.

The Love Triangle taught me that.

Kate Halleron said...

Susan Sarandon was just cast as Victoria Barkley in the upcoming Big Valley movie.

Which has nothing to do with LOST or the poster reveal (I don't think), but it is kinda neat.

mungonna said...

Damn rite! Its Free!..And ya got the 1st edition too!..You'r welcomed!

ReverendMilo said...

@mel can the I get close to the same effect with binary epoxy?

I have a ziplock bag of the stuff I keep by my chair. I cant beleive it didn't even cross my mind that it could be used as an adhesive!

Anonymous said...

hey has anybody called spin to see if they are involved...

Sandman90 said...

I'm having my prints framed by a place called the "A-Team". Just hope that no welding is involved and no employees named Murdock.

Zachary Kasun said...

The Rocky Horror Picture show has its longest run in Milwaukee's Oriental Theater. It plays the second Saturday of every month at midnight. Coincidence?

I'm thinking about creating some screen prints myself. Anyone have any experience screen printing? Is it really difficult?

Attorney Greg said...

@Rev - that is hilarious. I tried explaining it to my wife, I am apparently not funny.

Yeah the waves look great.

Zort, sent u an iphone pic of my framed Swan tonight, but will take better ones soon.

Congested said...

Also to answer a question I noticed earlier. No, my posters weren't shipped in the same tube... they just happened to arrive the same day, together. For those catching up they are TSS and WK... but I haven't opened either yet as I'm waiting on my art portfolio to arrive, and want to handle them as little as possible until I get them flat in the portfolio.

kiwilostie said...

thorsten, I sent you an email last night - did you receive?
As for your Hatch print, not sure. Im at 6 weeks or so now for 4 toes, and still no show. Transmission arrived in 10-12 days, so Im not holding much hope for toes to arrive. Bad luck I guess.

ObFuSc8 said...

So busy with work that I didn't even realize a clue had gone up until late afternoon!

It would be fun if it was a RH reveal, but I don't think they woald have added the "Louise" if that were the case.

IMHO SpiN New York seems like the most likely reveal. I would really doubt anything like The View or GMA for a reveal.

SPiN listed events for this week:
-Nov 10 -- they have posted that their usual singles night was canceled for that night, and they will be closed from 6-9PM. But that's way to early for this reveal.

-Nov 12 the rescheduled singles night.

-Nov 13 -- Friday Night's Dirty Dozen Top 12 Big Money Showdown -- a dozen of the best players in North America to battle it out for Number #1 and the grand prize of $500.

-Nov 14 Saturday SUPER CAMP -- Top 10 American players host a table tennis camp. Note below that saying they'll close at 8PM that night. (Usually open to the "wee-hours").

Not sure that any of that helps since today is way too early and Sat seems like it would be too late in the reveal for this one.

Except for the FOB/Frame 6 reveal (and I guess the first reveal) they have not used any already scheduled events -- deliberately to prevent us from just googling up the time/date of these reveals.

ObFuSc8 said...

Ugh -- apologies for the typos.

MEL,
Aerospace industry, Arizonion, by any chance do you take the Janet to work each day? If you do, you will know exactly what I mean, if not you will think Im crazy mad!

Zort,
I reckon your right about Rev not even being a reverand! And as a kiwi, I know he's not a Milo
Care to comment Rev?! lol
P.S. I really thought Zort would have deleted your posts regarding dryhumping your posters... Oh, hang on..oops...

kiwilostie said...

Rocky Horror - now that brings back some memories! Theres a local theatre that showed it every Fri and Sat night for many many years. It was such an occasion, and almost everybody dressed up (like Zort talked of earlier). They even had a stage version running for a while, in which our Prime Minister (read President for those in the US) at the time, was the narrator!
Good times!
