Quote from Lost in Portland ?

Tess315 said...

Thanks Mary and Eugene for the coverage at Johnny Cupcakes!

Zort70 said...

Of course I mean "Not in Portland"

Tess315 said...

zort
Are you talking about the website being a quote by Alex to Sawyer when she hides him and Kate in here "hole"? Was that episode Not in Portland?

Zort70 said...

No it was Juliette - from a transcript I found -

Alex, Sawyer, and Kate come out of the hole. Sawyer says to Alex, "This a hobby of yours, Underdog, digging holes?"

She says, "Yep, that and basket weaving. Want one?"

Zort70 said...

Sorry, meant to say Alex !

Black Swan said...

Thanks to those who went to Boston to get the info!!

Those twitter pics are interesting, thanks Sayid'sgirl! That first one.. isn't "Build our World" the organization Sayid was working for when Ben found him last season?

Anonymous said...

To: Mary and Eugene, and all others
I would keep the skateboards! They might be worth something in the future!
Thanks for going!!!

Scoutpost said...

Sorry I've missed the excitement...so is that green poster about Locke, the final prize? I like it!

Tess315 said...

Black Swan You're and yes it was Build Our World that Sayid worked for.

Here's the page I got when I clicke o Mary's link. I guess I was too quick. After zort's post I clicked it again and it redirected me to DC&PB and the Locke poster.

Go Merch

Tess315 said...

That should say: clicked on
I guess I'm typing to quick too. :)

Zort70 said...

What do you think about the sticker in the window that Lewis posted about ?

It seems to be for "Build Our World" which was the organisation Sayid was a member of.

Ollie with poster

Capcom said...

Wow, that poster is awesomely retro!!! I might just have to order that one for the style alone. Check out how much it looks like the Hitchcock Vertigo poster: link

Thanks for the link to the poster site Lottery, I had come across that artist's website last year and totally forgot about it.

Capcom said...

P.S. Great work everyone!

Scoutpost said...

Very cool capcom! Yes I really like it. Which is why I jumped on buying it! LOL

MJCarp said...

Hi Cap. I'm totally enjoying finding out about all the artist, linking to places that I would never go otherwise. I'm begging for skateboard deck on the twitter feed. Olly sent nice reply to twit. These are going off the shelf fast.

Are we headed to London next?

Capcom said...

That's what I was thinking about the skateboard art too Lottery, that would be so unbelievable neat! You can skip putting the wheels on, and just hang those decks up on the wall, and in multiples it makes a really nice effect.

BTW, is the place to order the posters on the front page? Obviously I haven't been participating, just watching you guys having fun, so I have no idea where to go for purchase, I didn't think that I would be moved to buy one, but this one is very tantalizing. Tx in advance. :-)

Scoutpost said...

capcom, go to the thatandbasketweaving.com...

then you create a log in and order. I think later on you'll be able to order off of DCAAPB...once they put the poster on that site.

Tess315 said...

It's already on the hub at DC&PB so either place is good to order from.

maven said...

Good work by all....I'm not sure about ordering this poster or not (nothing in my house is bright green...lol) They sure are picking obscure quotes for the websites!

@Court: That was the name of the company on the van that Ben drove transporting Locke's body...anagram: Reincarnation.

Thanks to all who shelped down there and twittered away! And of all days for this to be going on....with the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy.

Roxanna said...

thank you to everyone who kept us updated today!

you know you're a true LOST fan when you get a Twitter account just to keep up with these updates :)

Capcom said...

Thanks SC and SG! :-D

Capcom said...

BTW, before I put my glasses on, I thought that the poster said, "beautiful father" where it says "deceitful father" and I went, HUH?! X-D

Tess315 said...

You know me I'm waiting for Sayid. I'd pobably buy anything with him in regardless of the style.

I would also be interested in a Charlie poster or Desmond poster.

I like Hurley too but I wasn't wild about the poster. To busy for me with that color scheme.

The Locke poster is ok. Minimalist, very retro and like capcom said Hitchcock-ian.

Tess315 said...

I guess I was right about them using Lost quotes for websites.
To bad it doesn't give you a clue on who/what the subject of the painting is.

I'd love to stumble across a site early but I know that's not likely to happen.

maven said...

Sayid'sgirl: You were on the right tract. But those quotes used for websites are pretty obscure!

Tess315 said...

Yeah they are.
DC&PB has updated the hub with skateboard pics.

Capcom said...

Yes, you're right SG, it doesn't give a clue at all. And I really liked Thunderstorm's deductive reasoning for this one being about Miles!

:-D

Capcom said...

Ah-ha, so that's the wood that it was engraved into, a skateboard. What a great idea.

Tess315 said...

BTW in that last closeup pic there is a 42 engraved in the board near the top right side.

Tess315 said...

I forgot Lewis said that all the numbers were engraved on the back of the board.

I guess DC&PB just chose this one to show us.

Tess315 said...

In response to what about/happened(?) to the scavenger hunt.

by Lewis C on Wed Aug 26, 2009 5:02 pm

@ pooh
Christy actually told us about the random call from CO. They honestly had no clue what was going on. It was quite amusing actually. Their boss told them people would be coming in for a scavenger hunt looking for "Boris" and to give them the skateboards. They were expecting little kids. I don't think either of them even watched Lost so we all seemed like a bunch of whackos. Haha.

The domain name thatandbasketweaving.com was registered by ABC Inc. and administrated by dig.com (Disney Interactive Group). The domain was purchased through a lesser known domain registrar in America, but a big one in Australia--Melbourne IT. Very funny they would purchase it through there.

(Found this out in the WHOIS registry.)

MJCarp said...

No doubt that we will be headed to Australia before this is through. "Australia's the key to the whole game." in Shape of Things to Come.

Nice find.

Well...I've decided that since I have an anniversary coming up...followed by Christmas and then not long after that a birthday, that I might buy more than one poster if the urge hits me. I'll just tell hubby that the shopping is taken care of- he'll like that! Plus, I usually get some money as gifts from mother/mother in law...so I'm thinking that a group of LOST posters on the wall would look good. ;)

I would love a Ben poster, maybe a Sawyer...Desmond would be good...hmmm wonder what they'll come up with?

Kevin said...

am i the only one who is bored by this "arg" ?

MJCarp said...

scoutpost - a truly difficult decision. Looks like the Locke poster will sell out. Are they holding 100 of each for after all revealed, so that we can order our favorites?

Will those extra 16 laser skateboard decks show up at some point for sale?

Can anyone 'see' a clue in Locke poster as it relates to Hurley poster as it relates to frame 16?

Zort70 said...

ByronicX - I'm not sure what to say to you, if you were expecting an all singing all dancing "game" then yes I can understand.

But personally I'm enjoying this as it is giving people things to do in the physical world, and it is fan interaction, not just a fantasy environment where everything could change at a moments notice.

Hope you keep checking in and can pick up the excited vibe that most people are giving off when there is an event.

memphish said...

I don't know if anyone around here is watching Warehouse 13. It started slow, but each week is getting better and better. Last night's episode involved Lewis Carroll's Looking Glass. If you're considering the series you might want to give that episode a try; it's called "Duped" and they have episodes on Hulu.

Eugene said...

I just e-mailed a few pictures of the skateboard. They are very cool. I never thought they might give us actual skateboards. I hope all the fans out there get something because it really does make you feel appreciated.

The folks opened up the store and did not really know what was going on. So they brought out some boxes and opened them up. They look confused and wanted to know if this might be what we were there for.

Definitely worht the trip (and I evn found on street parking with NO problem)

Scoutpost said...

Lottery Ticket- The site says only 200 prints of the 300 are released to the public, so I assume that once they're gone, they're gone...until they show up on ebay! I assume the 100 not for public release will go to private collections, ABC, people associated with the show, etc. but I don't know.

Very cool at Johnny Cupcakes today. Check out http://greenamonggray.blogspot.com/ for full report. I give a shout out to The Lost ARGS.

Fan interaction for the Fans in america....The great thing about ARGs was, that everyone could make the same and experience the same, everywhere on the World.

Thanks Anon (Kyle) can I use the picture of the Build Our World sign ?

yeah yeah rub in the parking Eugene ! lol I really wish I could have gone. I'm still bummed and mybf is trying to be nice about it. He said well, at least You didn't miss much.
