LOST University Masters Program Is Open 30

There was something else happening today but I can't quite remember.....:-) Ok, I'm kidding the LOST DVD's and BluRay for the 6th Season and also the complete collections are out today.

To go along with the release there is for a second year the LOST University. The site was updated overnight with the course details and there are lots of new news articles with dates suggesting they should have been released over the last few months, but only appeared today.

When the countdown clock reached zero there was a short, but fairly nondescript, video and the counter reset to 3 Months and 1 Day.

Big thanks to Patmc4Fun who managed to capture this video of the countdown reaching zero -

It seems that there was a slightly different video if you were logged in to the Lost University, Lottery_Ticket captured the logged in version and you can see it by clicking here.

Oddly enough if you look at the screenshot above it actually says 1 hour 34 mins, so as I write this I'm waiting to see what will happen for me. Update - ObFuSc8 has let us know that the clock is resetting to 1:48:00 (108 Minutes) for everyone, however a few users have seen odd timings like 5 months 495 days !

Let us know what happens when you get in to the Masters program by using your BluRay discs, and definitely let us know when you have passed your courses.

The LOST U counter for most of us reset to 1:48:00 (108 minutes) and has been counting down/resetting over and over since it first hit zero.

Ok, I must have only noticed it when I did the screenshot.

Slightly odd that we haven't got anywhere to enter the numbers !

A slightly cheeky DarkUFO has taken the whole post and put it on their site.

I'm honoured that this site is news worthy :-)

I'm off to bed... but be sure to check out the whacked out countdown clock that I got when I checked it a few minutes later!

http://twitpic.com/2hnvva

5 months, 495 days, 5 hours, 53 min, 58sec. (!)

That doesn't even make any sense! LOL!

I've refreshed several times... and It's still giving me the bizarre numbers. Is anyone else seeing anything like this!?

It just reset to 1:48 for me, I've tried a few browsers and I haven't got an odd time yet.

Sorry about the repeat post, but Zort beat me to the punch by starting a new thread. That guy is quicker than Sawyer's quips. So....

Morning All,

Happy "It's the last time a LOST DVD will be released Day" until they decide to reissue the ultimate "I Sank The Island" version in a year from now. :) Will be at Best Buy for 10am. Pre-ordered Season 6 and besides bonus disc, they're offering a mini-version of LOST encyclopedia. Also picking up entire series.

Thanks to all who tweeted and kept those of us not able to attend the auction up to date. And GREAT news that some of our own were able to pick something up. Still hoping that whomever picked up pieces of Oceanic 6 jet will decide to sell pieces. It's definitely a money making venture.

And last but not least... fans of Nate Duval... check out this article in NY Times on his latest venture. I'm working with him on a few projects (he lives in same town that I work) and although I'd like to take credit for this... I can't. Quite the spotlight for one of our own LOST artists.

If you're a FB friend of mine, I've posted something about this.... feel free to comment, like & share. And if you're not a FB friend... please request. :)

I'm not sure how, but if any of our friends across the pond could find out somehow if the complete collection is region free on blu-ray, would greatly appreciate it. Really can't wait to order it!

Ok, finally here but tired after getting up at 3 am to take a couple of pups to the airport for their flights. Neat that the LU is starting up again.

I commented on Damon's FB post: Sorry, Damon, the cycle is never complete in our hearts!

Awaiting my shipment from Amazon!!!

BTW: At the Lost Auction I picked up a full case of Dharma water and a full case of Oceanic water. I don't know what to do with it!!! I feel funny just drinking it like Dasani and recycling all those bottles. I'm not in this to make money, so I don't want to put it up on ebay. Any thoughts from anyone?

Lisa-Maladylis said...

I would say sell it to us but it would be very heavy to ship.

Maven. I would like to buy your cases of water for $12,000. Need water supply on hand since I am now living in my Dharma van.
Seriously though. Just sell empty bottles.

Weinbeeezy said...

Tie them together and build a raft (after emptying them of course)

Maven... I say make your own island.

Step 1 - import sand from some unchartered island that can move by itself simply by the turn of a frozen donkey wheel(and through time as well). Don't ask how or why.

Step 2 - dig circular trench in backyard & place sand in middle.

Step 3 - pour ALL the water in trench with the exception of 1 bottle. That's for you to drink... you're now the protector & chosen one of your own personal island.

Step 4 - do not throw empty bottles in "ocean." Dharma sharks are not fond of and the last thing you want to is tick them off. You're gonna be on that island a LONG time.

Step 5 - send postcard to LOSTARG's so that we can auction off. I say we'd easily get $100K for it. :)

Picked up season 6 DVD from Best Buy, along with entire series. Besides bonus disc w/ season 6... I also got a Best Buy exclusive LOST Artifacts book. And since a certain Not So Light Alien Loving web site decided to lift Zort's images... here's what it looks like:

DADDY ISSUES T-SHIRT ON SALE NOW AT DCCAPB!!!!

Zort70 said...

Thanks for the info, I've put a quick announcement post up with the info.

John LaHair said...

Sorry about caps lock folks. :) Thanks Zort.

And to think... I almost unsubscribed from Change Direct web service last week thinking no need to monitor for changes any longer.

Hope everyone that wants one... gets one!

I've just ordered something from DCaaPB and the discount code for free shipping does not apply anymore. I think once prices were lowered, they removed that discount code.

I wouldn't go near DCAAPB and GoMerch again if you paid me.

Although some of my prints arrived, I still cannot get them to reply to a single email.

My credit card company are having to stump up because of the terrible service they offer to international customers.

And the shirt has shipped.

Wave 12 answer has been found, I've updated the main wave post with the details.

I also got an email from Live Auctioneers over night to say that the 12 hour limit mentioned by Profiles was not true, so something fishy is going on somewhere.

Hey ARGies!

Lisa -- I hope things are going OK for you.

During the 2 weeks leading up to the LOST auction, I spoke with both Profiles and LiveAuctioneers about the details of their bidding processes. I asked a lot of questions to prepare myself for the auction, including specifics of the live and proxy internet bidding. Neither Profiles nor LiveAuctioneers brought up anything about a 12 hour limit on live internet bidding.

I have since called Profiles and LiveAuctioneers over the last few days to try to find out what happened. It seems I was not the only one that called LiveAuctioneers about this and suspect that these enquiries led to the email registered bidders received.

Live Auctioneers have been clear since my first call on MON that they do not put any limits on how long their software can be used for an auction. While Profiles has apologized, I haven't gotten any explanation as to what happened from them.

To their credit, once Profiles made the announcement that internet bidding would end, they did provide telephone bidders for those who asked, though this may not have been as accessible for international bidders.

While wiping out all absentee bids seems like extremely poor form to me, Profiles registration form (which is the equivalent of a contract) specifically states: "The absentee bid process is offered solely as a convenience subject to Profiles' sole discretion and approval, and neither Profiles nor it's agents or employees shall be held liable for the failure to execute bids or for errors relating to the transmission or execution thereof." I can't remember right now if LiveAuctioneers had similar restrictions on the absentee/proxy bids placed through their website.

I'm sure those of you watching the auction online as things got crazier on Sunday recall the problems Profiles had with the winning internet bids on 2 of the highest grossing lots. After that, Profiles took the extra step of telephone verification of each internet bidder on high grossing lots like the DHARMA van. I can't help but wonder if this contributed to ending all internet bidding.

The LOST Auction was nearly as full of suspense as LOST itself and the LiveAuctioneers software made it nearly as fun to watch from home. Overall the auction was pretty well handled and there were definitely some opportunities that opened up once internet bidding was stopped. In any case, it would be nice to have an honest explanation for what happened with internet bidding on SUN.

I've asked both PIH and LA for comment and so far the only response I've had is from PIH saying that there is a limit and LA are not telling the truth !

Seems like kids arguing in the playground to me.

If I get anything back from them then I will put an article up about the whole thing.

I'm doing ok ObFuSc8 waiting for the doctors is hard but I guess they like to keep people waiting. I have to go do all they eye tests again because he wants to make sure this tumor is what's causing the partial blindness in my right eye. then they will do surgery and probably radiation since they can only take part of it out. The rest is wrapped around my arteries and can't be touched. The surgery is what makes me nervous but I guess that's normal. thanks for asking.

maven said...

Best wishes on everything, Lisa...especially the waiting!

FYI: I've decided to give my Dharma and Oceanic bottles away. I'm doing the flat rate mailing box...cost will be $10.75 (for shipping). I think I can get 4-6 bottles in each box. The bottles will be filled and unopened. If you're interested email me at: maven1908@yahoo.com

maven said...

All the water bottles are spoken for now! Thanks to those who got in touch with me!

Weinbeeezy said...

@maven.. That was quick! I was going to offer you $100,00 but I guess not anymore :(
