LOST Props For Sale 131

The news about this came a bit out of the blue, and I'm quite astonished that it hasn't been picked up on before now by more people.

The items you see on this post are actual props from LOST, they are not part of the official auction and they are for sale now.

The items came from a Warehouse sale that took place in May this year and are now made for sale to the general public by a Hawaiian resident Tina Lau. Read more about Tina here.

They are not items that are obviously stamped with DHARMA logo's or belong to Oceanic Airlines, but a lot of them can be seen quite clearly in the show.

The ones pictured here are some of the more recognisable items from the sale, but there are others that people will recognise for all sorts of reasons. There is everything from simple drinking glasses to light fittings from Jack's office.

Now who wouldn't like the Swan Hatch dartboard, part of Dogen's Darkness sensing machine, or Richard Alpert's trunk and shaving kit.

A lot of the items for sale are just simple everyday items that were just used as, well everyday items. The pricing of the pieces reflects how identifiable they are and most start at a very low price.
Yes this is an invite to Daniel Faraday's concert in the Flash Sideways / Alternate Universe / Purgatory / Limbo (Take your pick).

You can see all the items for sale by going to this Flickr page or have a look on eBay, be sure to check both place because not all the items are on both sites.

The information originally came to us from Anna at www.TheFourToedFoot.com blog, if you do decide to enquire about an item please mention TheFourToedFoot and LOSTARGs just so Tina knows where you saw the information.

If you are thinking of purchasing an item you can contact Tina through eBay or directly. She is open to offers outside of eBay if you are really desperate to get hold of that Faux antique Japanese vase you have always wanted.

Morning All!

Thank you Zort for sharing the news! Have been working with Anna on sharing the BIG announcement with LOSTARG's. Perfect timing. :)

Here's something I picked up Saturday directly from Tina at a very reasonably priced $75. I have affectionately titled it “Dharma Family at The Barracks.” Check it out at http://www.flickr.com/photos/44153866@N02/4693989294/

And it’s going to go very nicely with Nate Duval’s Barracks print.

:)

Happy Shopping!

I picked up one of the coconut cups from Hurley's surprise party, episode 4.12 - it arrived Thursday:

very cute JPL lol I was thinking I would see the Dharma photo here with the gang in 1974 and was surprised to see this but too funny Love it.

Zort70 said...

Big thanks to JPL for pointing me in Anna's direction and telling me about the sale.

Ray said...

@andalone

Just bought a Hurley cup as well. Figured that the price is too great to pass up for a nice LOST prop! Now that I have a prop, I am completely satisfied. Got my eye on a couple of other items in her auction, though....

andalone said...

@Ray, yeah, some of the auctions items get a little pricey. I was in bidding wars on a few things that ended way out of my comfort price range. Buy It Now = less stress.

RobPerrin said...

I also picked up one of the Hurley cups. It has one of the best combinations of recognizability and price point. Keeping an eye on some of the auctions too...

Lisa-Maladylis said...

I didn't see anymore of Hurly's cups on ebay, where did you get yours RobP. ?

RobPerrin said...

Hi Lisa, I picked up one Saturday afternoon.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

ahhh ok thanks ! I have my eye on a couple other things that I think I could get and that appeal to me so we shall see.

ioioos said...

LOL. Interesting, but are people really parting money for stuff that would cost next to nothing at a garage / car boot sale, just because it might have sat on a shelf somewhere in an episode of lost???

Ray said...

@ioioos

Yep. Lots of random items have sold so far. There really is only 1 other item I have my eyes on, but we'll see how that goes. I like the Hurley cup that I bought.

Have anyone else's print statuses changed? I have both Olly and Danger remaining and they still say Preorder. Somebody with a Ken Taylor, Soto or NPB should check to see if their status has changed.

RobPerrin said...

Ray - My Taylor, Soto, and NPB are all still Preorder.

maven said...

Thanks for the links to the props auctions...don't know if most of the stuff cries LOST to me even if they dressing on the set. If you can get something for $0.99 I guess it's worth it!

Justin said...

Yeah, I kind of agree... not much here screams LOST to me. Mostly just says yard sale items. But I will check it out and see if anything is a must have. I have a feeling nothing is going to be affordable for me at the official LOST auction however so something here might be a next-to-best-thing alternative.

I have a Not Penny's Boat on order and checked this morning and still says preorder.

This one poster a week thing is getting a bit ridiculous.

Limbofunk said...

It is kind of silly that things like these would be selling at an elevated price. If there was a certificate stating the authenticity of the item that would be one thing, but as far as I can tell there isn't. Maybe one day I'll find an exercise bike for cheap at a garage sale, beat the hell out of it with a bat and say it was used in the show from after the hatch imploded.

Ray said...

@Limbofunk

Check out the link andalone provided. It has a picture of the certificate that came with her item.

dylansdad said...

I like the idea of owning a screen used Lost prop, but the very few things that could be considered recognizable (to me) are out of my price range. The things I can afford could have come from any consignment shop on main street and I wouldn't know any better.

Justin said...

Order status change? ANYONE?

Limbofunk said...

@Ray

Blah, that's what I get for just assuming and not looking further into it...anyone know if they are signed anywhere by someone of signifigance/affiliated with ABC (or Lost) or just a laminated piece of paper?

Martyn said...

I think an Apollo candy bar wrapper stuck to my wall is a good enough prop for me. Well, wouldn't say no to Eko's stick but unless I win the lottery...

My money is on the Olly poster being shipped, they have to ship one of the "popular" posters already, just to make us all happy. It is really stupid they only do one poster a week but I guess they aren't used to sending that many items at once so I guess I can forgive the delay. Sort of.

Going to drool over olly's photo again and hope dd releases an image of his soon!

Martyn said...

Also in case no one saw this:

Justin said...

@Martyn
I agree. I think it will be Moss or Danger this week.

Odd that we are this far into Monday and no one's status has been updated.

I am beginning to loathe the word preorder...

seaque said...

Yeah, the only thing that makes me look forward to Monday is the fact that we might get a change in our DCaaPB print status. Bummer no changes yet. Last time I rec'd a shipped email it was rec'd at 5:30pm PST...so there is still hope.

seaque said...

...is anyone watching the new NBC (9pm PST) "Persons Unknown" on Mon nights?

seaque said...

...the new NBC "show", that is.

I'm watching it! It's only a summer show with 13 episodes (like a mini-series)...but so far (after one episode) I'm liking it.

seaque said...

OMG...my Olly/Lost print status now reads "Processing"!

@ Maven,
Yeah, I liked the first ep too. I was interested enough to want to watch tonight.

Justin said...

OLLY IT IS!

My Olly print says processing too! Oh man, Olly print today, preordering the new iPhone tomorrow... this WILL be a good week!

SO EXCITED!

seaque said...

ME TOO! :)

JPL said...

@Seaque - your eyes are not deceiving you... my order is "processing" as well. All is is good in the Land of Go Merch. :)

Martyn gets the Apollo Candy Bar for guessing correctly.

I'll have to check out Persons Unknown. Looks interesting. Last summer, I got hooked on Harper's Island. Loved it!!!

And as far as some of the props that are being sold... I'm thrilled to "own" a little something that was featured in the show. Just need to do a rewatch to find where that piece of "art" was featured. One man's junk is another man's treasure. ;)

seaque said...

JPL, I bet you are thrilled...I know I would be. Good for you in getting the prop...it's exciting for me too - to get these prints. I will always remember the fun times we all had during this art project. Ah-h-h-h...memories.

MrHeavyfoot said...

So this is going to sound kind of crazy but... I just got around to framing my Lost Live prints. I had purchased one of each available at the concert event last month. However, a month later, now that I am unrolling for framingb I find out that I actually recieved one Jacob, one Jack, two Sawyers and no Hurley. The crazy thing is, I swear I checked them at the concert and I thought they were right.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in swaping your Hurley for one of my Sawyers, please let me know jakrum at gmail.

Ray said...

Oh man, mine says "processing" too. I almost made out with my iPhone!

Weinbeeezy said...

Olly Moss print and Brand New iPhone :) gooood way to start summer

Justin said...

@ Weinbeeezy

Did you actually GET your iPhone this morning? I've been trying since I woke up to preorder and the site is crash, crash, crash. This is worse than a poster drop! =)

@Lisa- got my mug in the mail today-I am going to find a place where I can see it all the time-thanks so much and I love the Oceanic pin!

It is neat to get it today- it turns out to be a birthday present. :)

I saw that on Expresso Beans there's two for sale for 680-700$.
Is it safer to buy there or to go after it through ebay?

mtutick said...

Took me a few hours, but I got through using ATT site to preorder my Iphone 4.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

Hey JT, so glad you got it so fast. One day (but then you are in the same state lol) Glad you like the pin too, I love to make them. have a happy birthday !! Don't get Lost ;-)

Justin said...

@mtutick: LUCKY!!

Been trying for my shiny new iPhone all morning unsuccessfully. Apparently AT&T has dropped the ball. Again. Shouldn't be surprised but you'd think that they would have been prepared -- this isn't their first major rollout.

Is there anyway anyone can get a number of how many prints are left of each one? Or has that gone bye-bye with the quantity option going away? Just curious. I think someone had speculated at one point that there were <50 Candidate Caves and <100 Sun and Jin prints. Any numbers on any others? Bummed more of these aren't selling out.

OK. Back to the Apple site...

Justin

Martyn said...

Firstly, my Olly poster is still pre-order.

Second, the Olly poster has been removed off the homepage.

Thirdly, Congrats on the iPhones, I have to wait until iPhone 5 until I can upgrade from the 3GS. :(

Ugh, international orders are quite obviously going to be the last ones sent out.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

well, that's odd that the Olly was removed. Must be just someone messing with the page and messed it up for a bit. Mine is pre-order as well.

Martyn said...

Glad i'm not the only one then Lisa!

Davide said...

Mine is preordered too, when today was processing.
They screwed it up, i think :)

Ray said...

My Olly status was "processing" this morning and now it says "authorized". Weird.

Also need to wait for the next iPhone. Got the 3gs last summer, not eligible for an upgrade until April, but at that point it's worth waiting a couple of months.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

Opps, I mean mine is processing. lol You have me all cufuddled Martyn ! and thirdly... I miss Lost !!

Martyn said...

Awwww! :(

It is international orders then.

dylansdad said...

So maybe they are processing the orders and weeding out/cancelling the duplicates. Maybe the product page is down while they return some of the duplicates to the inventory--if you missed this one, I would watch the site closely when it goes back up, just in case.

Of course, I might be wrong. But I think that could make a few lucky people happy.

Ray said...

My order status has now changed to "queued" which means its about to ship! hooray!

FYI the print is still missing on the main page. Good call @dylansdad, that would be phenomenal. I saw some weasel on EB had ordered 5....

Martyn said...

Not good for those who bought extras for people on here though. I'll have to keep an eye on my status then!

andalone said...

Martyn - no worries. I had 2 Olly prints, one for me and one for my poster buddy. They are both in queued status now. (Just a few minutes ago, one was queued, one "authorized".)

Thanks andalone, I can sleep in peace now.

Going to AT&T right now to PreOrder... They said they're taking manual orders because the system is down... Wow

my moss is processig right now... Next is authorizing?

Justin said...

Got my iPhone today through att.com. The Apple site was having major issues all day, as was AT&T. Guess I just hit a lucky window. @Weinbeeezy: Good luck at the AT&T store... heard they were having issues too. Hope you get one ordered.

My Olly print still says processing as well. I hate when there's updates because then you start to get paranoid... there's says queued, why doesn't mine? Did they oversell? Am I getting cancelled? Oh the stresses of poster buying... =)

Matthew said...

Got the Josh Budich print today! Finally I was able to get a decent print that I really wanted! It looks awesome in silver

beesknees7 said...

Yay, got a tracking number for my Olly about 10 minutes ago.

Weinbeeezy said...

I want a tracking number :( what was your Order numbeR Beesknees?

dylansdad said...

I wasn't having any luck online, so I just went and got my new iPhone preordered at the ATT store!

beesknees7 said...

@weinbeezy It was #130634

Ray said...

Weird. I was order #130592 and it still says queued.

Weinbeeezy said...

Awww I'm #130869 I'm still ways away...

andalone said...

Orders #130619 (me) & #130720 (poster buddy) shipped!

seaque said...

@ Weinbeeezy

By my estimate, you should be in the next batch of 150 that ship out. Judging by order numbers...it'll be close, though.

Not sure how they're handling overseas shipments. Anyone in UK get a shipped email yet?

Ray said...

Who knows. Mine didn't ship, and my order number seems to be before everyone elses...

seaque said...

Yeah, that's kinda' weird, Ray. Yours should have been in this first batch for sure. That sure is a low number you have.

dylansdad said...

Looks like order #130601 shipped.

Weinbeeezy said...

Uhhh ohhh Ray... :(

Justin said...

For those interested in all things iPhone saying they couldn't upgrade, know this. I bought a 3GS in November 2009 and was not eligible for FULL upgrade until April 2011. But AT&T has extended some kind of special pricing to pretty much everyone. So I had to pay $399 for the iPhone 4 today not $199. HOWEVER I sold my 3GS at www.nextworth.com for $296.50 today, so in essence upgraded for $100 after only having my 3GS for about 7 months. So there's hope if you really want one!!

Oh! And my Olly print is still "processing" and didn't ship today. But with order # 130753 that seems consistent with the 150 per batch theory and the orders posted here that did ship. Hopefully ships tomorrow!

Martyn said...

Order Number 130740, status Preorder.

like living in the UK wasn't sucky enough!

Davide said...

If you know someone interested, i'm selling both Moss and Danger's second series prints.

However, my orders still says preorder.

Swound! said...

I'm in the UK and my order said Processing yesterday. Today it's moved back to pre-order. Ugh.

Zort70 said...

Martyn I think it is a conspiracy by the US, they are holding our posters hostage until they qualify for the knock out stages of the World Cup.

Swound! said...

haha.. yeah good luck with that ;)

That might mean we never get our prints!

ioioos said...

My Uk Moss status has gone back to Pre-order.

I'm still waiting on a tee shirt that said shipped three weeks ago and My Sun and Jin too. God its slow.

On a brighter note, I got a confirmation email from Gomerch that they three DD Black Rocks would remain valid.

I know there were a few who wanted me to hook them up, so email me at ioioosatmaildotcom if you still want one at cost.

Ray said...

Still no shipping notice, but my order still says "queued". I don't know if that means my print was set aside with my receipt and they just didn't put it in a tube yet, or what. Fingers crossed it goes out later today, though!

Lisa-Maladylis said...

mine is still processing :-( They need to hurry up. My wall wants it's new poster !!

Robert said...

#130818 still processing.

Ray said...

Keep an eye on this site, you guys:

http://geographyoflost.tumblr.com/

He might release his map (correction: awesome map) in print form. How cool would it be if it's done on map paper!

chaseter said...

Ray, don't worry. My order number is before yours and it still says queud and my bro's order number was 200 higher than mine and his already shipped!

Ray said...

@charter

haha, figures they would make the lowest numbers wait. Thanks for the heads up.

seaque said...

Seems that they "tubed" the lowest numbers first and started their "pile of print/tubes". When they started loading the prints for transport/shipping they started loading from the top of the pile (i.e. 130720). They probably could only take so many prints at one time...leaving the lower numbered prints for shipment today.

Justin said...

I asked Daniel Danger on his Facebook page if he had any idea when he would drop his AP copies of "Black Rock". This was his response...

"well see, im kind of swamped with prep work for this upcoming show. gotta get my crew on the existing mailorder as is first..."

Sounds to me that it won't be Danger shipping next week as he hasn't shipped them to Go Merch yet. So Not Penny's Boat, Kate and Claire or Soto it is!

ioioos said...

@Ray

Nice idea about the map, but its so far removed from possibly being accurate its untrue!

According to that map, everyone that left Hydra island in a canoe or outrigger paddled some 20 miles around the island to get to the docks!

And Jack staggered 4 miles from the Heart of the island to die near the plane crash!

I also like the fact that (according to the map).....

The Black Rock hit Tarawet then rose another 1000 feet to cross both mountain ranges!

The Orchid has moved itself several miles away from when we saw it near the statue.

Jack and Hurley snuck out of the temple and crossed some 20 miles to the lighthouse in an afternoon.

The tail section made a 90 degree turn mid air from what we saw on the show.

Hydra island is closer to the main island that the Barracks are to the dock! Kate must have had sore arms carrying Miles his breakfast tray!

Sayid'sgirl said...

The map is pretty nice. I've seen it before. The accuracy? Who knows really. I do qestion the placement of some of the things.

But it is possible to walk 20 miles in an afternoon. I've done it in five hours for charity.

Jack's death march did drag on a bit, so maybe he did walk 4 miles. :)

Robert said...

Order 130771 now says "Authorized

Justin said...

My Olly print and the print I ordered for my friend have both just changed to "Queued". Order #s 130753 and 130836.

Yeah!

Now just waiting for the greatest word in the English vernacular... "Shipped".

Martyn said...

We want at least 5 more "angry beckham stares" before this world cup is over.

Justin said...

Question for all.

I will soon be framing several prints and am planning on just putting them in a frame with no mat. I personally prefer that look over a matted look. But I don't want the print to touch the glass because I have heard over time this can damage the print. This is one advantage to matting -- it keeps the print off the glass.

Anyone have any suggestions/tips/experience with this? What have you done to keep the print off the glass?

I await your best ideas.

Ray said...

@ioioos

I passed. I think it was good I had to run out when I found out it was on sale, because I got over it pretty quick!

Ray said...

@Justin

Thats very interesting about Danger. I just assumed that GoMerch and Jensen had some standard printer arranged that would print all of the prints from the same place. But I guess that means that some of the artists prefer their own printers. Too bad Danger cant ship them directly, though - seeing that I am in CT and now it will be flying cross country twice, haha

seaque said...

I read somewhere that Danger's work takes a long time to print. Not sure if it's because he's so busy (backed up) or color usage/layers take extra steps to pull. Can't remember where I read that info, so I don't know how reliable it is.

dylansdad said...

His last print with Gallery 1988 (Fenway) had to be reprinted because he wasn't satisfied with the results. It took longer, but he didn't put his name on something that didn't look as good as it should have. If he makes you wait, it's worth it in the end.

ioioos said...

Justin,

I wouldn't worry too much about how you are "supposed" to frame stuff. Besides. Professional opinion is also divided.

I have had some prints in frames for over three years, with no mount. Straight against the glass. When I recently changed them to some new frames, there was no damage whatsoever. In fact, they look brand new because they had no form of adhesive or mount fade.

I recently upgraded my frames. I have 14 in use around the house The vast majority of my prints are 24x18. I also have about 6 which are the second most common size, 26x20. So I had all 14 frames, in a variety of styles, made to fit 26x20, and then ordered 14 multi coloured mounts that hold an 24x18.

This way, the majority of prints are mounted, but I can mix and match my sizes, colours and frame styles.

For bespoke sizes (below 26x20) I simply order a special mount for a few pounds.

I also bought 20 metal strip hanging kits with built in spirit levels and placed them all around the house where a print would suit. One part goes on the frame, one part goes on the wall.

Now that all the frames have the same hanging mechanism, I can rotate all frames and prints with ease and it's brought the art alive. My main wall inside the front door has different print every week because the hanging mechanisim is automatically straight and its a breeze to swap them all about.

Friends and family always comment on my "print of the week" in the hall!

Justin said...

I am hoping that my Olly is waiting for me when I get home from work.

I'm wondering though if we won't still see another print in addition to the Soto ship next week. I am not a huge fan of the Soto and I don't think I was alone there and would wager to say it was perhaps the one with the smallest number of orders based on comments from around the net. Isn't this the first time we've seen action on two prints in one week for this series? Perhaps they are filling the Soto orders today and early part of next week and another poster will ship starting like Tuesday. Just a guess.

Growing tired of this one print a week business.

Growing tired of this one print a week business.

Yeah, me too.

I've gotta' say that every time I look at the silver variant of the Budich print...it looks like somethings dripping out of Jack's nose. It's the way Jack's nose lines up with Sawyer's hair.

My Olly print was waiting at my door after a long boring day of jury duty. Nice end to a crappy day. #262.

Can't wait to get my Danger print. It will be the first of his prints that I will keep (bought the Fenway print, but gave it to a friend as a wedding gift).

All of my prints (another Moss, a Taylor, LOST Live Hurley and a few others) will have to sit for a while since I just bought Rush tickets today.

You know what? I'm getting pretty annoyed and frustrated with Go Merch.. Being 'International' it takes around 3 weeks for an item to arrive anyway.. and we're having to wait even longer than US residents to get our prints shipped and I don't really understand why.
