Test 6 Email - Recruit Evaluation Panel 153

Hans Van Eeghen has sent a notification about test 6 being available. Read the email contents here

Interestingly the email says that assessment data is being analysed in order to determine which recruits may have exploited confidential information. Recruits found to have benefited illegally from this material will be dealt with appropriately by the Dharma Initiative's Recruit Evaluation Panel.

The email also says the following DharmaWantsYou users have been promoted to instructor status : Bboepple, DanyWho, Ellenh, Iseibert, Lost4evr, Mattabramson, Orangemoonbeam, Sawyer78, Wrinkledogs

*Thanks to Maven for notifying us of the email's arrival.

First ! (but not really surprising ;-))

I wonder if being dealt with appropriately will mean we are rewarded or punished ?

TakesaVillage said...

Hi Zort70;
Maybe all of us BS'ers will be banished, and the Black Swan will lead us to the Promised Land.
Off to work,he real world becons...

Zort70 said...

Hi TAV, yes it is looking even more likely that a split in the recruits is about to happen.

The real world is overrated, but unavoidable :-0

Zort70 said...

I've just thought, I have two accounts, one where I'm cheating and one where I'm not.

Does that mean I will have to keep secrets from myself ?

ib4uc said...

Oh, the wrath of Dharma. They'll probably throw us all in the pit!

Black Swan, save our a$$es!

Ange said...

Instructors will receive an official Dharma Initiative Instructor t-shirt for their efforts.

I guess that's why they want our mailing addresses LOL.

Good morning!

Zort70 said...

Good morning Ange

Ellen said...

Good Mornin' to you!!
Flying by to say "hi" before I, too go out into the world...
xxoo

ANM said...

lol...well at least I'm fairly certain cheaters won't be excluded from the game..lets not forget ABC wants as many participants as possible and after all Hoodlum is responsible for both Dharma and BS...I am forced to keep reminding myself this is just a game and we're probably doing what's expected from us so as not to freak out when I read Hans' emails...idiot, trying to scare us! GO BS!!!WE will prevail!

Lisa-Maladylis said...

humm wonder if those of us on the leader board will get something. I want a t-shirt !! nothing in the source code this time. I should have made a better test.

ANM said...

Lol lisa...I actually put quite a bit of thought into most questions...which makes not being given a free t-shirt sadder....boohoo. I can't believe we have to wait a week again, especially after such an unfullfilling test...ugh!

MadAriad said...

Interesting! I wonder where I'll end up if there's a split - I used the cheats some of the time but not on all the tests.....

Anyway - I am wondering if the date of that bridge collapse - November 7th - will end up being significant in the game.
I am SO going to have to read that book by Umberto Eko. (after I finish the other 200 books on my to-read list!)

MadAriad said...

Maybe we should make up some BS t-shirts and give them out lol

maven said...

Looks like Hans and Co. will be trying to play us against each other. This should be very difficult for those who has a cheat and non-cheat account! LOL

Does any one know the lucky instructors?

Tess315 said...

madariad
BS T shirts I love it. But I'd worry about some type of copyright infringement.
I know what you mean about a huge to read list. I keep telling myself I need to get off this computer and read some of the books I have.
It's a good question about how you'll be classified if you only cheated on some of the test. I couldn't get all the cheats to work and on the first one I didn't even know there was a cheat until after I took it.

Tess315 said...

maven
Sawyer78 is the only one that seems familiar to me. Seems like I seen that name on one of the blogs.

ANM said...

YAY t-shirts....!About the copyright infringement, I dont think something with the letters BSWY and the picture of a black swan would constitute such a thing (my business major coming in handy wow...),perhaps making mention of Dharma explicitly would, although there are real world dharma named companies and that has not been a problem for ABC/Lost so...we could have a design competition, vote and have one of those internet t-shirt design companies make some!

EmeraldIsLost said...

Hey; I saw Lost4ever posted on DarkUFO yesterday; they said that they saw one of their questions in test6; other than that, i don't recognise any of the names.
I'd read that book too if i didn't have a huge list myself, haha. I might get round to it at some point when its too late for the arg; it sounds quite good.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

I have a printing press here that I could make some shirts with. I haven't used it in a while but I'm sure the ink I have still works. I would have to check out what it would cost though. Probably around 10 bucks each.

ANM said...

I'll investigate the online option...in any case the whole "Design your own BSWY" t-shirt competition/game could be pretty neat...perhaps we can persuade codysmom to anounce it on the BS myspace page..mmmm....lets ask her when she drops by 'k?

Black Swan said...

Hi!! Are we all shaking in our boots??? lol!

Oh, T-shirts...... lol We better find out if we want to be associated with that Black Swan thing or not (I'm ready at a moments notice to change the name/pic at myspace if Black Swan turns out to be EVIL..

So far, I have a completely innocent account and a completely cheater account at DDWY.. so I expect I will be seperated from myself... lol

Black Swan said...

hmmm ask me what?? lol

ANM said...

lol, sorry boss

ANM said...

Mmmm...I wander if I can draw a swan in the all-famous "USA wants YOU" pose..you know the one used during...WW1 or WW2 (sorry my head is fuzzy and my USA history facts seem to have been lost somewhere...mmm) whith a pointing feather rather than finger in an octagon shape:
Front "BS wants YOU"

Back "To Purge the DI" (I don't think DI is copyright protected, will have to check!)

Lisa-Maladylis said...

if it's been used and posted about on the DWY site or Lost, then it is copy right protected. Thats how copy right works. ( just have been talking about this very thing today in another group)

Black Swan said...

anm, you're talking about the "Uncle Sam Wants You" posters... google it...

I still think we should wait until the testing period is over, though. No harm in getting our creations ready, though.... we could have a contest... lol

ANM said...

@codysmom..that's what I said, about the compettiton I mean. Also I will see if DI is in the web, although I presume we will find D.I. which is different...it's just that protecting two letters, just DI seems unlikely. They could stand for many other things in many different languages so I don't think there should be a problem...lol, can you tell europeans are not as "obsessed" over copyright as US citicens? I've seen home made stuff reminiscent of all kind of shows/movies in Madrid, London etc and I would have never thought :"Oh!They might get in trouble for that!" ;P

ANM said...

Off to have a sushi dinner!

Capcom said...

LOL, ANM, what you said made me think of Daffy Duck in the Uncle Sam pose pointing! X-D

TakesaVillage said...

Hoodlum gave us Flicker "Find 815" prints for our Tee's.Maybe they'll make us some Black Swans.
They wouldn't be nearly as good as what we could make though.
Maven,
The movie Me,Myself, and Irene comes to mind.
Some of us are really going to have a fight on our hands.

ANM said...

I say bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maven said...

TAV: LOL! I can't imagine them rejecting those recruits who cheated...they want the biggest amount of people involved. Wonder what the discipline will be? The lowest jobs on the totem pole?

ANM said...

Just added my first tshirt design...I actually made this a a sort of poster a while ago but it would work great on fabric...me thinks lol! Check it out on BS' myspace comments!

ANM said...

Off to bed now!Bye y'all!

maven said...

That's a great logo, anm!

Matthew Haywood said...

"dealt with appropriately by the Dharma Initiative's Recruit Evaluation Panel."

I think this means cheaters will reap the full benefits and gain access to whatever is coming up.

Either that or the whole ARG so far has been pointless really lol.

ANM said...

@matthew haywood...I agree Hans was vague on purpose..."accordingly" doesn't mean anything in particular at the moment, but I suspect cheaters won't be chastised....I hope! ;P
@maven Thanks, glad you liked it!

Zort70 said...

Yes the "accordingly" word does leave things open so we are kept guessing.

ANM said...

Where's everyone lately!?lol...I feel lonely...

Zort70 said...

Everyone is probably waiting for the next test on Tuesday.

ANM said...

I guess...well off to the real world!

Lisa-Maladylis said...

that's kewl Codysmom. I have to figure out where the rest are and check them out.

Black Swan said...

Thanks, CEO!! I started with a picture of a Nolan Miller pin.....

Black Swan said...

Everyone else has posted on myspace, but I think this competition should stay here (because I know NOTLOST would win over there:)lol

Black Swan said...

Lisa, the rest have posted at myspace.

Matthew Haywood, I hope you're right about that!

maven said...

Awesome logo, Codysmom! Will Lisa be able to use that on her printing press? I know I can transfer it to a piece of fabric that I can iron on and stitch down, but it's not the same as printing on a t-shirt.

Also hope Matthew Hayward is on the right track. Those that got on the panel will really be working with us not against us!

Black Swan said...

Thanks, maven! I don't know if it's transferrable to a t-shirt (never did that before:) I fixed the line that wasn't supposed to be in there:

logo fixed up

I'm also going to do a design for the left sleeve and front.

Tess315 said...

I like it codysmom. I knew it would be good.
Since you suggested it I've brought my design over here. Yes there's no way I could competer with NOTLOS ANM you need to bring yours here too it really good also.

My Design

Tess315 said...

that's NOTLOST. I'm typing to fast again. :)

Tess315 said...

Oh man, and compete not competer. lol

Black Swan said...

Thanks, sayid'sgirl! I still like yours a lot...

lol, stupid me (I could have on-the-sly asked NOTLOST to do my logo for a for-sure win:)

Back to working on mine...

Black Swan said...

Don't worry so much about the typo's !! I read phonetically anyway:)

Tess315 said...

lol It's a good thing. :)
Oh I also have lost my manners. I keep forgetting to thank you for complementing my design.

Black Swan said...

Everyone who knows you knows you are always gracious, sayid'sgirl:)

Lisa-Maladylis said...

great designs everyone ! I wish I had a good program on this pc but Vista won't let me get a graphics program to work on this pc. :-(

Black Swan said...

Ok, how about this? (Only problem being we don't know yet how the testing will end)

front of t-shirt left upper chest

Black Swan said...

Lisa, photobucket has improved lately... it's not bad (but I combine that with my collage creator program)

Lisa-Maladylis said...

do you have Vista on your pc Codysmom ? I'll check out my photo bucket account today. Still healing from my bumm eye but it is better now that they found the problem. Hurray !!

ANM said...

Here's mine, although it's just a first draft. I guess the DDWY would go on the front somewhere, and the rest on the back. I like the idea of black letters over white but Im not crazy about the black boxes. Haven't had time yet ti fix it though...its a work in progress lol!

ANM said...

ok...forgot to paste it on post 1....;P

ANM said...

Oh! And around the right hand side sleeve I figured something like :"BS leading the DI to a bitter tomorrow" in stencil or on writing machine font...like in WWII secret messages etc...mmmm

Black Swan said...

Glad your eye is getting better, Lisa. That's actually quite scary! And yes, I have vista on my laptop (xp on my desktop).. they both work with photobucket great.. now if I could just get the new myspace music player to work with my desktop....

anm, love it! Also love: "BS leading the DI to a bitter tomorrow"

Tess315 said...

lol codysmom I like it.
Anm Good idea for the sleeve.
I might rework mine too. I'll see what photobucket has to offer.

Black Swan said...

Here's my design for the left sleeve:

logo for sleeve

can we submit more than one? this is fun:)

Black Swan said...

hmmm... let me try that again....

logo for sleeve

Lisa-Maladylis said...

that took me to all the blog posts lol

ANM said...

Well well you guys are stepping it up!lol...it sucks that all I have is paint in Vista....mmmm

ANM said...

Take a look... I almost killed my laptop doing this lol!

Tess315 said...

anm
You're really getting the hang of that paint program aren't you. It looks good.

ANM said...

@sayidsgirl, not quite but I gotta work with what I have...I wonder if there are any good paint alternatives for PC that don't require a masters degree to use...mmmm

Tess315 said...

anm
I know what you mean. I do have a card making cd that I bought 8 years ago which is what I used to do the T shirt design, it's the first time I've used it in years. It's very basic though with not alot of options. I'm thinking of going out a buying some grapics software of some kind this weekend. I've enjoy creating art. But I usually have to be in the mood for it.

Black Swan said...

Oh, that's great anm!!!! I also love the DDWY/workman on the front! I think it's amazing you're using paint to do this... I hate that program!!!! There are a lot of alternatives, but would probably cost you some.

TakesaVillage said...

Ahhhh....back to my alternative reality world.
Those sure are some mighty impressive tee-shirt designs, gang.
Wait till those creative juices really kick in. Great work.

I noticed something strange about the leader board today.
Yesterday Bad Number was from Iceland, today he is from Ireland.
I E-mailed Ange about it,and she said she even remembers him being from Hawaii once. Maybe he just has a lot of passports, like Ben.Or he's just bored like the rest of us recruits, and having some fun.
Do you guys remember any other nations of origin for Bad Number?

ANM said...

I have been saving a copy of the leader board everyday TAV, and he's been from all over. He's actually Spanish, and probably bored....I suspect he is also a hacker/has hacker knowledge and at one point I thought he was spelling something with all these countries or drawing something on a map...so far it seems I was mistaken, no logic at all.

Tess315 said...

anm
That's about the only thing I haven't saved is the leader board. Good work.

I noticed yesterday that be/she was from a different nation and wondered about it. I also noticed that alot of the people that use to be on the board alot weren't there any more. I don't visit it everyday, it wasn't changing there for awhile.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

BadNumber is actually from Spain but out of boardum, he's playing with his country of origin and changing the flags. He's just tired of the lack of game so it's something for him to do. ( we talk all the time and this is what he told me)

Lisa-Maladylis said...

actually, the only people that were on the leader board for a lond time are all gone except BadNumber and I. The group of people that are on it now have been there about a week except the bottom one that just appeared today. DarkUfo is slowly going down on the list, he was #3 yesterday and today he is #4

TakesaVillage said...

Thanks CEO Lisa, I thought you would know.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

I still get a kick out of that lol CEO hahah can I now put that on my resume' ? do you think anyone would know what the BSWY is ? lol

Black Swan said...

LOL, lisa.... I say go for it.. I'll give you my phone # and give you a glowing reference:)

Oh my gosh, I just found out what DWY is up to! They want us to be desensitized to our old moral values to get ready for the new paradigm of survival!!!! I get it! I get it! (and it's working so well:)

Capcom said...

LOL, tonight on Jepardy there was a question about the black swans in Australia!!!! X-D

They're taking over!

Ellen said...

Capcom, I saw that too! DH and I were watching it (one of our favs!) and that question came up and I almost snorted diet coke! I yelled, "OMG...LOST!!!" My DH looked at me like I had LOST my mind! :D

Sad news indeed about Paul Newman.

Just calling in to say that I'll be leaving for India (Chennai)soon, I'm fairly sure I'll be able to check things from there, but just in case I can't have fun everyone.

Tell us more about India!!

A pretty scary day,Maven.
It is amazing how we can all be so close, yet so far away.

Is it Tuesday yet?

MadAriad said...

Yeah - This stock/economy/bank crisis is just crazy. It's kind of scary.

I've been reading Slaughterhouse Five and I'm thinking I'd like to jump to the part of this ARG that's fun.

MadAriad said...

I mean as in Desmond-style time travel, if that wasn't clear....

Hey guys! I know I went MIA for a while there but I have to say, learning Photoshop (even if it's just Elements and no the pro version) is HARD!!Paint ain't looking so bad no more lol. I'll post my first piece on BS' page in a minute...ugh I'm mentally exhausted!

Zort70 said...

Apart from being hot, India is very busy (at least where I am it is) the roads are full of cars, auto rickshaws and motorbikes.

You can see whole families on one motorbike !

There is such a contrast between new western influences, big glass buildings, and then old India with very ornate temples next door.

Zort70 said...

I just realised I'm posting on September 29 in the US, but here it is 08:30 on the 30th !

I'm just off to work, in one of those new shiny glass buildings, well shiny on the outside anyway.

Black Swan said...

Cool, zort!!! I'm glad you had a chance to check in! It sounds so interesting there and different... lol whole family on a motorbike:)

Black Swan said...

btw, 11pm here in Michigan, US.. You are somewhat time displaced:)

Zort70 said...

It's 11:30pm in Michigan, 04:30 in the UK and 09:15 in India. No wonder my body clock is all over the place.

After travelling Sunday I had to go straight to the office, so last night was the first real sleep I had in a while, and it was a deep one ;-)

Black Swan said...

Yeah, zort... lol extreme jetlag:)

So, do a lot of people speak English there or maybe you haven't really had the chance to be out and about other than "the office"?

Zort70 said...

Hi, yes most people speak some English in the city. Although it's hard to know if they have understood you or are just being polite sometimes.

A colleague of mine described it as a foreign country with English subtitles, as most signs are in two languages, or just in English.

My favourite sign so far is some road safety advice -

"Don't be rash and end in crash"

Black Swan said...

I love that sign:)

This is so interesting to me! I love your colleague's description.

It still amazes me that you're able to still be "here", even though you're "there"... lol. In making the Black Swan myspace I have made friends from all over the world and I love it. But actually being there is the best and only way to truely know a place. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Zort70 said...

I signed up for a myspace account the other day, I just haven't become a friend of the BSWY myspace page yet.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

It's Tuesday !! you think there will be a update on DWY today ? I sure hope so !! Hey I'm going to a Lost get together this weekend and wanted some ideas for Lost things to bring. Anyone ? I'm going to make some fish biscuits and some Dharma food like nuts and chips. Any other ideas ?

Black Swan said...

Hi, Lisa! Oh, a Lost get together... that sounds great.. tell me more.

You could be Kate and bring some drugs for people's drinks... lol

Lisa-Maladylis said...

hahahahaha I think I would look more like a pregnant Claire now that I'm chubby lol Drugs for drinks lol do you think they would mind ? I'm going to be printing off some Dharma stuff to put on the food so they have Dharma labels. Do we have a copy of the BSWY wine label that's flat so I could print it out too ? I feel so useless with out a printing program on this pc. I can't make my own labels etc. I'll take photos of the stuff when I'm there.

I found this group on the fuselage and just happen to Join a month or two before they announced a get together. We have someone that has somehow taped all of seasons 4 shows on DVD and were going to pull a all nighter watching them. Yeah, I'll definitely have to bring the peanut butter ! Charlie was my fav. Lost person.

Melissa_Lossa said...

Hey, everyone!!

Man, it's slow around here. :) Makes me feel better for being away so much. Work is crazy (as per usual) and I'm heading off to San Antonio tomorrow for a conference.

Is anyone else watching Lost 2.0 on G4? Mr. Mel and I have been tuning in every night - I finally got him hooked! The pop-ups don't have much that's new (although some of them are pretty funny), but between the notes and hubby, I find myself picking up on things I never noticed before.

Black Swan said...

Hey, mel!! True, you haven't missed much Lost related..lol You'll be going to the warmth just in time; I hear the bottom's gonna drop out in the next few day (in temps).

Good job getting Mr. Mel hooked.. and I haven't really watched much on G4, so thanks for letting us know the pop-ups don't have much meat to them. Please report if you find something!

I think I could watch this show a thousand times and pick up on something new! I love LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zort70 said...

Yes I'm on one of the photo's, it's the one with a friend and I in front of one of the stone carved temples, I'm the one with the legs !

The temples are all carved out of granite, and they look fantastic in real life as much as on the photo's. Each one of them has a significance in the Hindu religion.

If you ever feel like the thrill of a lifetime, forget roller coasters or bungee jumping, get in one of the yellow and black auto rickshaws (or Tuk Tuks) and let them take you round the city in rush hour traffic. It's a white knuckle ride from start to finish.

The big boulder is naturally balanced, it isn't attached to anything so in theory it could move at any time.

Zort70 said...

Hi Melissa, any news on a podcast for the book club ?

Zort70 said...

Actually, any news in general about a Lost ARGS podcast ?

Melissa_Lossa said...

Hi, codysmom! Yes, I'm leaving 50 degree weather behind for the upper 80s for a couple of days - although I don't know if I'll see the light of day! This conference goes 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. most days. Yikes!

The only thing I've really picked up on during 2.0 are details that I hadn't noticed before. One that sticks out is that in Claire's first episode with the psychic, the lamp in her dream (where Locke has the black and white eyes) is the same lamp that the psychic has on his table. Things like that.

I did think that it was interesting to see how Ethan shows up more and more frequently as it gets closer to Claire's abduction. I noticed him in the background of a lot of shots that I hadn't picked up on before.

Melissa_Lossa said...

Hi, zort - honestly, podcasts are in David's hands right now. He has my questions for The Tempest, but he hasn't gotten back to me on a date yet. I did talk to him briefly, and his wife was in an accident recently, so I think he's been a bit preoccupied.

I'm just chugging along, and I'm about halfway through On the Road. I figure I'll just keep going, and maybe we can pile up some podcasts this fall.

Is anyone else reading the Original Scroll version of On the Road? It's making me VERY thankful for good editors!

Lisa-Maladylis said...

I was watching those epi's last night on the sci-fi channel and the only thing I noticed is when they pulled Charlie down from the tree that Ethan hung him in, Jack too the vines off his neck and the next shot of Charlie looked like he was wearing a crown of thorns or a halo. weird. I didn't notice the lamp though.

Melissa_Lossa said...

I would never notice stuff like the lamp if I didn't have help. G4 makes it easy:

(during the dream): "Watch out for that lamp, because you'll see it again in this episode."

(at the psychic's): "Look, there's that lamp! From Claire's dream!"

It's like Lost for dummies. :)

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone watching the show for the first time, though, as they do occasionally reference things from later seasons.

Nice pictures Zort, & Codysmom.

Lisa; How about a can of hairspray and a lighter? That should liven the party right up.

I watch G-4, And Sci-fi in HD,when I can.
Melissa;I think I just have the regular version of On The Road,(about 1/4 through).Sorry to hear about David's wife.

Don't those pesky Pirates in Somalia, know that Talk Like A Pirate Day is over?

Happy Rosh Hashanah.

Ok I see why there's not much discussion on test 7. But who the Black Swan is was definitely a Black Swan event. I didn't expect that.
And yes patience is bitter. But I'm not sure if even I am that patience.
