Ajira Airways Website Launches 227

The Ajira Airways website is now open for business! You can try to book a flight, check out some of the exciting Ajira Adventures, or learn more about Ajira Airways.
You can also print a sample boarding pass, and there's a hidden surprise which you can find by following these origami instructions. BTW, Here is an enhanced version of the boarding pass, which highlights the Dharma symbols.

The site also features an area where you can book a flight to the following locations: Bangkok, Los Angeles, Wellington, Portland, Mexico City, Seoul, Baghdad, Rome, Tustin, Ames, Santa Monica, New York, Sydney, Guam, and Tokyo. If you followed Find 815, you may recognize some of these cities as places Oceanic Airlines flew to as well as locations where Oceanic Airlines billboards showed up.

Lisa e-emailed us with this screen cap. from the video on the site.
If you find anything else interesting, let us know in the comments!

UPDATE: Hidden in the source code of each page are some unusual comments (some of which need to be HEX decoded):
  • For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • So off they started about Irish sport and shoneen games the like of lawn tennis and about Hurley and putting the stone and racy of the soil and building up a nation once again and all of that.
  • PINEAPPLES IN HAWAII
  • SUPERSONIC IS COMMERCIAL THIRTY TILL MERIDIAN
  • WHERE AMERICA'S DAY BEGINS.
*Thanks to Eugene and Lisa for the heads up on this.

such a neat site, I just wish there was a contact email for them or something else to do on the site. I won't let you book a flight, it says there all booked. :-(

Ange said...

I added the screen cap you mailed to the post Lisa. Good work!

Lisa-Maladylis said...

notice the date on the photo screen cap ? it says 1/21/09

Ange said...

If you read the scrolling message area one of the portions says Avoid a new Pacific location trouble area. Also, the "Destiny Calls" adventures were all posted by someone called Antonio B. McCutcheon.

lost2010 said...

I wonder if they'll eventually release a promotional code to go in that one box that will let you 'book a flight'.

Ange said...

Looking at the boarding pass, there are little pieces of the Dharma symbol as well as some other symbols that look like the ones that were on the countdown clock in the Swan hatch. Maybe they will be code for the promotional code?
I'm betting they all come together when you make the origami ball. Dennis is working on that, I suck at origami so I'll wait for someone with superior folding skills to hash it out!

Ange said...

Okay according to Lostpedia, the symbols are S W DA A and the "stick" modifies the previous word.

lost2010 said...

If you choose that Destination Destiny on January 21st. One of your flight choices is 316 like in the screencap above.

Dennis said...

The only thing I see when folding the boarding pass into a BALL is the the word GUM - I guess as in GUM BALL?

Here is an enhanced version of the boarding pass so you can see the Dharma/Clock symbols better: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YPCf8JFgUdI/SVkJhSHrelI/AAAAAAAAKJs/GUrBFBfuWlE/s1600-h/enhanced_boardpass.jpg

It's been so long since I've posted anything I forgot my password! Sorry about the anonymous comment in the previous thread. I tried the origami and I stink at it.

I am guessing the Darlton will give us a promotional code early this week as part of their Dharma Special Access e-mail. Or maybe in the videos.

This is definitely a good morning! LOL
Something to explore again!

Thanks for the hidden codes, Dennis. One of those is the quote Darlton gave from Ulysses in the DSA. Everything ties together with those two! LOL

There's probably a million things to notice on the site: The city temperatures all have different minutes (besides the obvious hours). Don't know what that means. The mystery destinations: Polar, Island, Shark swimming, Excavation: Ruins are all tied into the mythology of the show.

lost2010 said...

Sorry, double posting. Let me start over.

When you google that passage, you get a reference to a passage from "Inauthentic" by Vincent John Cheng. . .

Probably a coincidence. . .but wasn't Cheng our worm hole guy?

Black Swan said...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH, this is so exciting!!! Been waiting for something like this for a long time!!

Good job, Lisa, dennis, and all those working on it!

neumox said...

Hey all.

GUM is the airport code for Guam, which you can select in the Book a Flight. And it's what you'll see in the origami when folded correctly. I found out it has to be printed right too. I had to download the boarding pass and print it separate so the dashed line matches up with the one in the instructions.

Also: SUPERSONIC IS COMMERCIAL THIRTY TILL MERIDIAN...

Translates to 11:30, thirty minutes to Meridian, or noon. You can select this as flight 316 at 11:30am. I'm guessing the rest means commercial flight?

Can't figure out how many passengers and kids to try and book a flight. Or what the promo code would be.

Interesting tidbit, there is no weather report for Guam.

maven said...

I'm guessing that promo code will be given in a DSA?

Ange said...

Neumox, I noticed that about the weather report too.
I wonder if passengers and kids might refer to the O6. Maybe Aaron and Sun's baby count as kids, while the rest would be adults? Regardless it still says all flights are booked no matter what you enter.

lost2010 said...

Maybe we select leaving from Guam, Destination Destiny, Flight 316 on January 21. . .with 5 adults and 2 children. . .unless we're supposed to count Locke, Des, Penny, and Lapidus. . .

But I'm betting we need that promotion code.

OMG, coincidence or fate that I just changed my myspace page to McCutcheons! LOL!

neumox said...

Looking at the source codes, everything except the HEX seems to point to Guam. But I can't connect pineapples in Hawaii to mean Guam, so I'm wondering if there's a Hawaiian word for pineapple? Maybe that's the promo code? I'll see if I can check with my Hawaiian friend.

Black Swan said...

We had to send in our e-mails to ajira airways, so maybe they'll e-mail us a promotion code?

Incidentally there are 55557 anagrams for Antonio B. McCutcheon

Lisa-Maladylis said...

neumox said...

Well, pineapple in Hawaiian is Hala Kahiki... perhaps that will be the promo code? Still unsure of the passengers and kids. I'm trying various combos, but no luck at all yet.

I signed up for the email on the Ajira website and haven't received anything yet. If it's like the ARG ones it could be tomorrow. LOL

Look at the times on the weather bulletin. . .shouldn't they have all the same minutes?

Like in Tustin it's 11:33, and in LA it's 11:30.

I could have sworn California was all in the same time zone. And if you look at Iowa - it's 1:31.

Time is askew at Ajira airways. . .does it mean anything?

@lost2010

The email updates from Ajira Airlines website was available up until the site was updated today.

I don't know if you can sign up for those anymore, but I'm betting that if you get the Darlton DSA updates, they'll have something in there for us.

Anyways, any emails will surely get posted here or DarkUFO as they come out.

2 funny things in the e-mail. First "no DUIs". I guess they've had enough of those. Second, password = emal, which I assume translates to lame. Darlton always look a bit sheepish in these videos and "lame" seems a bit self - deprecating.

It's a slow day at work. So I fooled around with the Origami instructions and got those to work. But I don't think I have the boarding pass sized right. It did inflate though.

Thanks, Capcom. After DWY got boring and the holidays got closer I became a bit too busy to check in. I hope I can keep up now!

Eugene said...

Another clue pointing to Guam:

On the boarding pass 13 29 02N appears. If you look that up on a map you find that the coordinates are almost on the western coast of Guam.

Melissa_Lossa said...

capcom - you summed up my feelings exactly! Oh boy!

Someone called at work today just as I was printing out my boarding pass and asked if I had time to discuss something. I was thinking, "No, you fool! I'm printing out my fake boarding pass for a pretend airline!" :)

xmozzazx said...

If you take both sets of numbers on the boarding pass:
144 47 50E
13 29 02N
and google map it, it's smack dab in the middle of an airport in Guam.

Ange said...

Hey look at THIS. It's a place called GÃ¥dao's Cave in Guam which is one of many places with petroglyphs. Some of these look awfully familiar.

Ange said...

Or...does anyone have a barcode scanner? There is a barcode on the boarding pass, which I am too inept to fold and or apply to the instructions at all. Has anyone figured out how large to print the thing to get it to apply to full sheet of paper instructions?

Lisa-Maladylis said...

Capcom: Yes, but not from today. That was Dec 13th after the big ice storm of the century.

As for the promo code, I do think that Ajira themselves will e-mail it to us this week sometime. I'm also sure someone will hack the site and find out exactly when each mail is heading out.

Capcom said...

Hi MadAriad!

Did anyone do the origami? It looks like the basic "water bomb" or air pillow type fold.

MadAriad said...

I've got the stuff printed and hopefully will have a free minute to do it soon....

Anonymous said...

I did the origami - it was fun, and like others have said, it creates a "ball" that when you look in the hole reveals GUM

I'm figuring that the flight selection is "Destination Destiny" Departing from Guam 1/21/09 on Flight 316. No sure on the arrival, passenger numbers, or code? If it's people who have left the Island, it would be Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, Sun, Frank, Desmond, Locke, and Ben (9). Children would be Aaron, and maybe Ji Yeon(2?).

Any other details to throw in?

Ange said...

If you don't want to go through all the potential paper cuts and folding frustration, they have a cap of the finished "ball" at Dark UFO.

Anyone book a flight yet?
Ok...reading through various posts and clues from a number of sites, it seems that to book a flight you need to pick the following:

DESTINATION DESTINY radio button
TO GUAM (GUM from origami)
DEPARTING 01/21/2009
FLIGHT 316 - 11:30AM
PROMO CODE 112 114 111 109 111 (from credit card)

Still unknown or undetermined - FROM location and the number of ADULTS and CHILDREN.

The number of Children has to be 2 - Aaron and Walt. Adults could be 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 (Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and Locke are definate...add Des, Frank, Ben and a possible Penny?)

The FROM could be any listed but the boarding pass shows LAX as the departure point...

...but none of the above in any combo works for me. Anyone else have any luck?

MadAriad said...

I was thinking the "Pineapples in Hawaii" thing had to do with the promo code for booking a flight. I've got nothing so far except that the spiral of a pineapple uses fibonacci numbers - no idea if that has anything to do with it or not.

Anonymous said...

I'm thinking Guam is the "From" location. Some of the locations listed in the "Weather Reports" correspond to characters:

Seoul - Sun/Jin
Portland - Mittelos (Alpert/Ethan)
LA - Jack
Tustin - Locke
Ames - Kate
New York - Michael
Sydney - Claire
Baghdad - Sayid

Capcom said...

Good thinking Techno, I think that you're on to getting the whole picture of what is needed.

Capcom said...

Erm, and MadAriad and Crazy. :-) Must remember to refresh before I post.

Here are the cities sorted by time with Temp:

Bangkok 71 1:33 AM
Seoul 32 4:36 AM
Portland 21 11:26 AM
LA 73 11:30 AM
SM,CA 71 11:31 AM
Tustin 70 11:33 AM

Ames 2 1:31 PM
Mex City 77 1:32 PM
NYC 30 2:33 PM
Tokyo 32 4:34 PM
Sydney 77 6:39 PM
Rome 72 8:28 PM
Well NZ 70 8:34 PM
Baghdad 37 10:25 PM

Anyone think this is noteworthy, or has other meaning? Also, why are all of the temps in Farenheit, when most countries outside the US use Celsius? Not to mention the time anomalies, etc.

maven said...

Thanks for posting the times CBJ! Those different minutes really stood out to me. Usually, minutes are the same worldwide...just the hours change. So we must be dealing with the different time line thing?

TechnoPrep said...

Sorry, Crazy...missed your comment on Ji Yeon! So a possible 3 children...

And WOW! Thanks for posting all the location times and temps! I didn't have the patience to capture all that!

When talking about minutes, there are a few similarities in the minute:

:x0 - LA
:x1 - Santa Monica, Ames
:x2 - Mexico City
:x3 - Thailand, Tustin, NYC
:x4 - Tokyo, Wellington
:x5 - Baghdad
:x6 - Seoul, Portland
:x7 -
:x8 - Rome
:x9 - Sydney

There are also several cities with matching temps:

Seoul, Tokyo - 32
Tustin, Wellington - 70
Bangkok, Santa Monica - 71
Mexico City, Sydney - 77

This leaves Portland, LA, Ames, NYC, Rome, and Baghdad. All of these cities are from the mythology except Rome.

Considering Rome is the odd city out, and also taking into account that Rome's temp (72) and time of 8:28 - 72+8+28 = 108

Something I just thought of - what about the time's in military?

Lisa: Thanks for getting those scrolling words! All of those things somehow relate to the show and it's mythology. The warning to Pilots and Sailors has to relate to the island's influence on navigational tools.

Has anyone drawn the parallel between Antonio B. MacCutcheon, and MacCutheon Whiskey preferred by Charles Widmore and Christian Shephard?

Anonymous said...

I have one thought on all of this before bed.

The guy from the video, holding the sign w/ 316 on it, looks to me like someone who would be meeting you at your destination. I think the destination is definitely Guam because when you do the origami and just look into the box, w/o putting your eye up to it, you see the lat. and long. for Guam as well as To Destination. The date on the frame from the video w/ the guy w/ the sign is dated Jan. 21, 2009. I am going on a hunch that the departure point is from Los Angeles because 316 is at 11:30 and it says that the time in L.A. is 11:30. That being said I looked into actual flights from L.A. to Guam and it takes about 48 hours. Maybe this means that the departure date is 2 days prior to the 21st, the 19th or even 20th, when filling out the information for booking a flight.

I hope this is helpful.

I gather the $87 is 8+7=15. The mention of time and space alludes to what is going on with the island. I guess the "grandest grab bag" refers to taking your chances of where you'll end up. And why would you have to pack light?

MadAriad said...

So why does the destination destiny option even have an arrival location? Shouldn't they leave that out if they're picking the destination? I would think it would only have a departure location.

maven said...

Also the table setting in the Book a Flight section looks like there's a vase of red anthuriums plants.

MJCarp said...

Hope it's ok just to jump in here . . . first time poster.

I noticed that the Sky Club card had a reflection that does not appear correct. and that the use of 'diamonds' was curious. So, if the numbers read PROMO maybe something else in the image relates.

Also, maybe you only put in "To: Guam".

I read the anagram from this week's e-mail as "male"

maven said...

Hey, Lottery Ticket, welcome to TLC!

What is it about the reflection on the card that looks odd? I guess diamonds connote wealth...and that's what you need to book a flight on Ajira.

Where have I seen the stewardess' pin before? On Mrs. Hawking?

Black Swan said...

Geez, I wished I had checked here first before staring at the ajira site forever to get all the cities/temp/times and the scrolling words! LOL! live and learn...

I agree you should leave the "to" blank when booking a flight if you're taking advantage of the Destination: Destiny promo price of $87.. they choose your destination?

I definitely noticed the McCutcheon whisky link to the name on the credit card! I seem to remember Widmore telling Desmond that it was an Admiral McCutcheon... will have to look that up. And I think it's fate and not coincidence that I just changed my myspace theme to McCutcheon's the other day! lol!

Underneath the sky club card it says:

"THE SKY’S YOUR LIMIT!
Earn miles to travel in style with the luxury-enhanced Ajira Airways Sky Club credit card. The more you spend, the more miles you’ll bank towards globetrotting escapades. Redemption provides you a solo seat or a chance to charter your own personal plane. Your destiny awaits."

So, do we think the O6 will be taking solo flights or all of them come together on a charter? I love the way it says, "Redemtion provides you with..." lol, redemption a theme of the show:)

Welcome to all the new ppl showing up here at lostargs!

Black Swan said...

I didn't plan it this time, but I can't tell you how happy I am that I was comment #108!!! (I'm easily amused:)

maven said...

Anything to keep you happy, BS! LOL

The use of the word "redemption" is strange in the context of the sentence, but is definitely a theme in the show! I don't know if they have to charter a plane individually. Ben is stressing that they all have to get back together. Maybe they can all pool their Sky Miles? Doesn't Jack have a lot build up by now that he can transfer from Oceanic? LOL

Black Swan said...

btw, I can't get "South Pacific triangle" to come up in a Wiki search.

Black Swan said...

maven, I'm not sure how I feel about being called BS... LOL!

Maybe they all have to go back together, but they have to meet at one location to do that? Yeah, I bet Jack has enough miles built up, but they are Oceanic miles and not Ajira miles.. maybe they can transfer them:)

Do a search on The Dragon's Triangle which is what the South Pacific Triangle is called you should find somethings. Guam is part of the Dragon's Triangle.
I've often wondered if the island was in the Dragon's Triangle. Here's a couple of links if you're interested.

You're welcome Black Swan.
I was obsessed back during the TLE days with the Dragon's Triangle thinking when they turned back to go to Fiji they turned the wrong way. I know there's no reason for that, but if the did they would end up in the Dragon's Triangle.
I printed out maps and everything. I pretty much let it go until Find815 and the plane being in the Sunda Trench. Of course it's a fake wreckage and the real wreck is supposedly near Fiji. But I could help think they got lost in the triangle and ended up in the Sunda Trench.
Now the fact that the South Pacific Triangle has been mentioned and Guam is a part of the triangle makes me giddy. I'm sure it won't mean anything but it's cool just the same.
Sorry for the long post. But I'm giddy. lol

Morning all:
Sorry I didn't notice you posted something about the stweardess' pin, SayidsGirl. The name of Mrs. Hawking's pin was the ouroboros (a circular serpent eating it's tail). I guess they're similar in that it's almost like infinity.

I don't blame your giddyness either Sayid'sGirl. With Guam being in the Dragon's Triangle and with the warning to Pilots and Sailors on Ajira, I'm thinking that everyone is meeting up in Guam to enter some kind of portal or maybe an off-island DI station to get back to the island.

I'm with you. I think there's some kind of portal dare I say wormhole (sorry Kyle) in Guam.

Has anyone come up with anything on the hidden messages? Pineapples in Hawaii or Where America Starts it's day?

I was thinking - where America starts its day would be on the East Coast, right? That's where the earliest time zone would be. So maybe the departure is New York instead of LA?

Melissa_Lossa said...

Oh, and happy birthday, memphish!

neumox said...

Here's something interesting I noticed about the diamonds next to the Sky Club card.

There are 8 that are sparkling and 3 plain others. I'm wondering if this could mean 8 Adults and 3 children.

8 Adults: Sun, Sayid, Kate, Hurley, Jack, Desmond, Frank, Ben
3 Children: Walt, Aaron, Ji Yeon

I know, there are nine adults including Locke, but remember Locke is dead, so maybe they'll check him as baggage? LOL

Melissa_Lossa
Guam's motto is "Where America Starts it's day" and I still think perhaps Pineapples in Hawaii might mean the Hawaiian word for pineapple: Hala-Kahiki

maven said...

Melissa: I think "Where America Starts it's Day" is the motto from Guam.

Melissa_Lossa said...

Ah, thanks neumox.

Black Swan said...

That's great research, sayid'sgirl!! I love it!

Melissa_Lossa, that's an interesting idea!

I still wonder, though, that we need something to put in the promotional code area... idk. Lisa was saying to remember to watch the Lost replay on Jan. 14th because we may get a clue to Ajira like we did for find 815.

Black Swan said...

neumox, maybe Hala-Kahiki is what we put in the Promotional Code to get a flight? (interesting observations about the diamonds)

Melissa_Lossa said...

That's what I was just thinking, Black Swan - that seems to be the only clue that doesn't fit anywhere yet.

neumox said...

How about this... Maybe if the flight goes from LA to Guam, there would have to be a stopover, and Hawaii is one. Pick up some "Pineapples in Hawaii"??

Thanks Sayid'sgirl for the Dragon Triangle links, very intriguing stuff. That area reminds me of the pendulum/star area from the ABC promos. This all gets me so excited for the start of season five.

So it appears the bar code is the numbers, followed by 6 - as in Oceanic 6

Brian said...

Been watching this and thought I might add my two cents.

By most airlines Walt would be considered an adult (over 13), also I don't know if any of the "children" except Aaron (Walt included) would need to go back to the island. Ben said that Jack had to get his people back; Sun, Sayid, Hurley, Kate and Aaron. Plus Ben and himself that makes 6 adults 1 child. Although I still can't book a flight.

Tess315 said...

Brian
I wasn't sure if Walt would have to go back either. But why did Locke visit him if he didn't want him to go back? I agree that Walt would be considered an adult on an airline.

In the OGR section in the Summary Of Hidden Code On Ajira Site post at DarkUFO's Keeping Pace had an interesting post. He/She says the language on the sign the guy in the airport is holding is Devanagari and says John. He/She also gives this link.

melissalossa - Any hints to the final cylon on that site. . .I don't mind spoilers for BSG.

8 and 3 makes sense to me. Leave from Guam - destination destiny. . .

And the hawaiian translation of pineapples fits well with the type clues they gave us. . .although
"pineapples in hawaii" is ripe with anagrams too though - you can get 'epiphanies','hippies', 'alias', 'seaplane'. . . . .I'll keep scanning the list and see if I can get all the words to come out right. . .

Black Swan said...

Dennis, I looked at your map (nice!), but which destination do you mean that shows in the upper part of lower Michigan? I marked it with an arrow

Dennis said...

That's the Gaylord Regional Airport (GLR), in Gaylord, MI.

It's one of the two airports on the Bording Pass that's NOT on the list of flight destinations. (The other is PEK - Bejing, China)

I don't know that much can be made of the destination airport codes, since there is a lot of ambiguity in some of the selections. New York for example has 3 major airports, and Tustin, CA doesn't have any (Santa Ana (SNA) is the closest commercial airport).

Plus, some of the airports are very small regional airports, like BWU in Sydney, Australia. The main Sydney airport is the Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD), which is only 15 miles away.

Anyways, here's the list of airports:

Only on Boarding Pass
GLR: Gaylord, MI
PEK: Bejing, China

On Boarding Pass and Flight Destinations
GUM: Guam
LAX: Los Angeles, CA
GMP: Seoul, South Korea
BWU: Sydney, Australia
HND: Tokyo, Japan

Only on Flight Destinations
AMW: Ames, IA
SDA: Baghdad, Iraq
BKK: Bangkok, Thailand
MEX: Mexico City, Mexico
???: New York, NY (LGA?, JFK?, EWR?)
PDX: Portland, OR
FCO: Rome, Italy
SMO: Santa Monica, CA
???: Tustin, CA (SNA?)
WLG: Wellington, New Zealand

Thanks for that explanation (and new map), dennis. I didn't even know Gaylord, Michigan had an airport, because it's a small town. Every time we drive up north, we pass Gaylord and Grayling and I always get the two mixed up and they are close together. BUT, this is interesting to note about Grayling:

Nearby Camp Grayling (donated by Rasmus Hanson) is the nation's largest National Guard training site and the largest military installation east of the Mississippi River. 147,000 acres (595 km²) are used for year-round training conducted by the U.S. National Guard, as well as active and reserve components of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy.

Ange said...

IMHO (and that's all it is) I don't think we need to put all that much stock into the airports or specifically if a location has one or not.

In Find 815, Oceanic Air supposedly flew to Tustin, New York, Ames, etc. It really didn't amount to much but for places where billboards wound up in the real world, and nods to Kate and Locke et al I suppose. I guess my point is that we kinda just need to go with the idea that Ajira flies to these places whether they have an actual airport or not.

That said, all roads point to Guam (which saying Guam in my head for two days now, I have realized it is a very strange word, Guam, Guam...). I love the idea of the sky club numbers being the code too, although I'm inclined to think we just literally can not book a flight yet. However, that said, Find 815 went live on New Years Eve last year, just saying...

"Covering an area of about half a

BlackSwan, no, I didn't win, the numbers are bad luck.

I think New Year's Eve is significant. No reason, other than there's ARG history there.

When I think of pineapples in hawaii it think DOLE.

When I think of Concorde I think of grapes. I know, don't say it. I am sure that they mean for us to 'redeem' our Sky miles by chartering a supersonic jet.

Maybe you can travel this ARG as a single or go as a group. I am not sure that they mean for us to travel with 06. So I vote for '1 adult', leaving Guam, no 'To", destination destiny. Departing 'today'. (I don't not get any flight choices) .

The promotional code is probably a combination of letters and numbers. J (John) U (Ulysses) D (Dole) C (Concorde) 316, or PROMO316, etc. whatever. But I think we have been given the clue to this in either the ad or DSA from 12/29. Maybe it's white shoes! I'll have another listen.

thx neumox for looking at the diamonds again. :) However, I don't think Walt is in our returning group. Not yet anyway.

In the running banner, some of the letters flash over as 'code'? or other language. Does anyone else see this?
