Thanks guys - I was so focused on looking for symbols that I didn't even think to paste that into wikipedia. Sure are a lot of different meanings for that silly little symbol. Got to figure that there is some reason they put it in there though.
What an interesting overlap for the new male character that is shown in the seating pictures. His first name is "Said" and he played the US trained Iraqi interrogator named Captain Said in the movie Three Kings.

I didn't get season 4 for Christmas, so I ordered it myself for my birthday. :) I was hoping it would come today, but I haven't seen it yet!
My birthday is Thursday and I'm hoping for the Season 4 as well. I will go get it myself if he doesn't get it for me. We are also having a little Christmas on the 20th or so and will try for more Lost things then too. One can never get enough Lost !!

What does WOPR mean or what is the significance?
I don't know the significance... WOPR is the call letters for the tv station channel 13 news that is in the pic that thin screencapped for us from the O6 conspiracy of lies bonus on the Season 4 DVDs. I googled WOPR and came up with the name of the supercomputer from the movie, "War Games". From wiki:
"WOPR (pronounced "Whopper") is a fictional military computer featured in the movie and novel WarGames. It is acronym for War Operation Plan Response."
The computer (in the movie is a form of AI) is taught through playing tic-tac-toe, with every game resulting in a stalemate, that "The only winning move is not to play".
I find this interesting because Widmore and Ben seem to be involved in some sort of competition or game with results that could be devastating, just like in the movie, War Games. I think the fact that Widmore "changed the rules" when Keamy killed Alex will be one of the focal points in the next two seasons as far as Ben's motivations. Ben always has a plan... lol!
yeah that's the one- Dan Bronson's page. I just thought it was funny, he tried so hard to make people believe that his face book was in-game yet he forgot that they tell everyone when the page up dates so when he changed his page to have the right date, facebook told everyone. He should have done it right after the Ajira page updated so no one would have known.

Right Blacky (I like that better than Swanny now!) I saw the call letters but didn't understand why it was being brought up as significant, I thought that I missed something else. You're right though about the similarity to Wargames! Wid and Ben are indeed playing a wargame, and they are like two generals moving around the people in their lives like insignificant pawns.
BTW, the vortex pattern on the Ajira flight attendant's scarf is also similar to the "P" in the Paik logo (albeit reversed). Wonder if Sun is involved with Ajira?

If they used the Looking Glass as a beacon for the sub (whether or not TPTB want to tell us more about that! ::coughraspberries!cough::) it stands to reason that they'd have a beacon at another vortex too. You're right Sayidsgirl, since we are sort of splitting the talk of the DSA notices and their spoilery content on two posts, it might be a good idea for us to follow the old rule of putting a spoiler warning (in caps or whatever) and then skiping a few spaces before typing out the info just in case.

From the articles, it sounds like we're really going to have to be on our toes this season to keep up and make sense of things. Good thing we have this blog to help eachother out with this! We were flying back to PHX from ATL over Thanksgiving and hit probably the worst turbulence I've ever experienced (my husband concurred and he's flown a lot more than me)...needless to say I had visions of Flt 815 in my head everytime the plane took a big dip!

BTW- I was reading that article about that TV/Intel chip over on DarkUFO and I started thinking about the last season. EW has a Lost Trivia Quiz. I did terrible, some of the answers are ambiguous (and I don't think correct).
The one about Kate's sentence is wrong. I checked the transcript. It's time served and can't leave California for 10 years. I got the rest of them right.
The one they count as right for the kate question is the joke answer.. .cuz uhm, you know me. . .that's the one I chose. :)
When Ben turned the frozen donkey wheel was wrong too. I don't remember them giving Kate a time period for not leaving California just not to leave the state. But I'm with you lost2010. I thought young Locke chose 2 of the things the had in the answer. Some at DarkUFO's are saying he picked it up but put it back down. I had a sneeky feeling they were going to say the answer was ****** but I didn't chose it. The quiz wasn't completely correct or at least worded poorly. But it was fun I only missed those 3.

I was talking to to 2Costa last week via FB and he is super excited about the new season as well. It is really awesome talking to everyone again about the upcoming season. I am truly amazed that many of us have stayed in touch for so long all over a TV show. You guys ROCK!

Apparently my spoilerphobia has become a source of humor for my family. Last night a Lost promo came on and I covered my eyes and muted the tv and my 12 year old yellled, "Did you see that? Jack's dead!"
When I uncovered my eyes, my entire family was laughing uncontrollably. :)
I am assuming that this was just my comedian-son, and not an actual spoiler.
Oh nooooo, I'm so sorry you had to hear that before the season starts ! I hope that won't ruin anything for you. At least you don't know how, when or where he died. lol That is so funny. I'm just the opposite. I like promos. But that's the only thing considered a spoiler that I like. Anytime one comes on I go running to the tv to see if it's a different one. And my 11 year old yells and makes sure I know one is on so I don't miss it.
I wonder who our families would think is more obsessed. :)
I watch them all too. I even yelled when I was at my parents and said ssshhhhh my dad made faces at me and then said something mean. They just don't know and understand the true power of Lost lol Stupid people !!!

FYI: Ange, Sayid'sgirl and Lost2010 and me are having so much fun playing Lost-themed Wordscraper (Scrabble) on FB! Every time you make a word, you have to use it in a sentence related to LOST (in the little chat window on the game page). This adds an extra dimension to the game and it can be very challenging! And very funny and creative!

Ok. So this is completely off topic but I am freaking. I washed my iPhone 3G in the laundry. I didn't realize it till it was in the dryer and I heard this 'thump thump' and then discovered it.
I already lost one phone to the wash, and Mr. MadAriad is not going to be happy. I have seen on some blogs some tricks for getting it dry and then working again, which i am trying. (At least I know I'm not the only IDIOT who has done this!!)

Oh, geez, MadAriad... hope it's ok (sending good vibes to your phone). My husband fell into a lake with his cell-phone in his pocket last summer and we thought it was a goner, but after it dried (took a long time) it showed some limited function and worked only when it was plugged in. So we got a new battery (I know a site if you want with cheap prices) and it's been working ever since! Good Luck!

I signed up on FACEBOOK. I completely underestimated how many people are on there. As soon as my name and school info was entered in, I saw people I haven't seen in 20 years! It was like being on "This is Your Life"! That was the name of that old show right, where they bring in people from your past? Anyway, so now I need a little bit of a tutorial. To add friends, do I just click on the "add as my friend" links? Is there anything else I need to do? (Besides say hello to people I haven't talked to in years) Is it bad Facebook etiquette to look at my friends' friends and contact or "add" the ones I know? Do people get mad about that? Should I set my profile where only my friends can see it? Help, I'm a little overwhelmed, but I'm so excited about it. I didnt' get this excited about mySpace. I'm last person to be giving a tutorial since I'm still a little lost there myself. But yes just click add as friend. A box will pop up and if you want to click Add a personal message. Then click add friend. No I don't think it's bad etiquette to add your friends, friends you know. That's how I added Ellen and Maven from Ange's friend list. Ange helped me get started or else I would have never had any friends. I asked maven for lost2010's name cause I did't know it. As far as setting your profile on for just friends to view Im a little confused on that one. That's what I have it set on and ange couldn't find me even knowing my name.

Well I never did anything on myspace. I only signed up during TLE, but never added friends or blogged or anything. I hardly ever go there. But I like facebook.
Oh boy, MadAriad, hopefully the iPhones are hardy! The traditionally easiest way to dry out electronics, is to open up the cover/case to expose the board inside, and then you put it in front of a fan, or blowdryer on cool, for a while. The problem is, nowadays the way they make things, you can't take them apart for owner-maintenance anymore because they are rigged to be destroyed if you try to. That is, there are no visible screws or easy latches to open it up.
I don't know anything about iPhones, so I don't know where to do some prying. But the first problem with water is the obvious soaking, but the second is the possiblity of minerals (or additives from the wash water) creating shorts across the componants when the water dries. Your best bet is to go to the store and see if they can get it open, or have any advice. BEFORE you tell hubby???? :-o

I've heard covering the phone in a bowl of rice,(over night?) should soak up the water,and dry everything out.It is suposed to work.

I usually check the Ajira site once or twice a week. But so far I haven't noticed anything new.
